Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 506: Chapter 78: Enhancing Comes with Risks

The enhancement was substantial, no, it should be said that this was the biggest enhancement for the Dragon Slash.

The enhancement wasn’t over yet, Su Xiao still had a huge sum of 137,250 Paradise coins.

”Bu Bu, let’s go.”

Su Xiao took a deep breath and was ready to head to the Equipment Strengthening Hall.

Every time he went to the Equipment Strengthening Hall, he felt like he was going to the execution grounds; ”anxiety” was the most fitting description.

Arriving at the Equipment Strengthening Hall, if you stand at the entrance for a while, you can see the various states of human emotions.

Some Contractors had joyful expressions, some walked like they had lost their souls, moving step by step, and even more were slapping themselves at the entrance, muttering that they would never enhance equipment again.

Although the risk of enhancing equipment is extremely high, the rewards are equally great.

Walking into the Equipment Strengthening Hall, Su Xiao tried hard not to look at the messages left at the entrance, they were too creepy.

While enhancing equipment carries high risks, it is also the place with the most Contractors outside of the trading market.

The Equipment Strengthening Hall, which is several thousand square meters, gathers a large number of Contractors after every Derivative World.

Under such a large-scale gathering of Contractors, some Workers sniffed out the scent of Paradise coins, hence all sorts of peculiar businesses keep emerging.

Some sell enhancement techniques, some assist people in enhancing, earning fees from it, etc.

Su Xiao came to a place in front of an Equipment Enhancement Machine, where there were few Contractors nearby, making it relatively quiet.

”I’ll kill you.”

Bang, bang, bang...

Sounds of kicking and punching came, a Contractor with a crazed expression was holding some metal scraps and kicking an Equipment Enhancement Machine with all his might.

Seeing the dark purple glow emanating from the metal scraps in the opponent’s hand, Su Xiao guessed why this fellow was so angry, the dark purple equipment enhancement exploded, his mentality must have exploded too.

Shaking his head, although Su Xiao was also here to enhance equipment, he would not enhance at the risk of the equipment shattering. If he didn’t have a [Phantom Demon Stone], he wouldn’t come to enhance the Dragon Slash.

[Phantom Demon Stone]

Quality: Dark Purple

Type: Rare Material

Effect: Can avoid the penalty for one enhancement failure, if the enhancement is successful, the Phantom Demon Stone will not be consumed.

Rating: 260

Description: A magical crystal stone from the Void, mostly used for weapon enhancement protection or making sockets.

...

Su Xiao pressed his hand on the sensor of the Equipment Enhancement Machine.

[Welcome to use the No. 426 Equipment Enhancement Machine, the user holds 137,250 Paradise coins, please place the equipment to be enhanced.]

Placed the Dragon Slash and the Phantom Demon Stone into the Equipment Enhancement Machine.

[Equipment check in progress... Check completed, each enhancement costs 23,000 Paradise coins.]

Su Xiao grinned, each time 23,000 Paradise coins, could easily go bankrupt.

Bubu Wang behind Su Xiao sighed, 23,000 Paradise coins could buy a lot of meat bones.

”Enhance.”

[Enhancement started, please wait five minutes,]

Rumble...

The Equipment Enhancement Machine started running, making an impressive momentum, beginning complex operations, with occasional sizzling sounds of electric currents.

Five minutes passed quickly, the Equipment Enhancement Machine gradually stopped working.

Hiss~.

A plume of scalding steam spurted out, the prompt appeared.

[Dragon Slash +8 successful, continue to enhance? Yes/No]

The additional ability at enhancement +8 was restored, Su Xiao pondered for a moment, the Phantom Demon Stone was still there, even if the enhancement failed, it didn’t matter, at most some Paradise coins and a stone would be lost, why not go for it?

Su Xiao chose to continue.

The Equipment Enhancement Machine operated with a roar.

The five-minute wait began to feel long, if enhancement +9 was successful, there was the possibility of enhancement +10.

Su Xiao had seen a piece of +10 enhanced green equipment which could only be described as extremely powerful, but now +9 wasn’t successful yet, thinking about +10 was too far off.

Hiss~

Scalding steam spurted out, Su Xiao waited for the enhancement result, Bubu Wang beside him was also a bit nervous.

[Dragon Slash +9 successful, continue to enhance? Yes/No]

It really worked, Su Xiao took a deep breath, no need to think, absolutely must go for +10.

”Hey, come look, someone is going for +10.”

A loud shout came from behind Su Xiao, he frowned and looked back.

It was a round-faced little fatty, the little fatty’s voice was extremely loud, his shout could be heard throughout more than half of the Equipment Strengthening Hall.

Several Contractors quickly walked over, some Contractors didn’t move, whoever enhances how much has nothing to do with them.

Ignoring the little fatty, Su Xiao chose to enhance +10.

The Equipment Enhancement Machine roared loudly, this enhancement was different from before, with greater momentum and more complex operations.

A full ten minutes passed, the Equipment Enhancement Machine was still running, nearby some Contractors grew impatient from waiting and walked away.

Twenty minutes passed, the Equipment Enhancement Machine was still operating, Su Xiao felt a bit uneasy about the situation, this thing wouldn’t break, right?

”Woof.”

Bubu Wang barked loudly, the Equipment Enhancement Machine suddenly stopped, startling Bubu Wang.

Hiss!

Dense steam spewed out, and amidst the white steam, Su Xiao vaguely saw a deep dark purple glow.

[Dragon Slash +10 successful, do you wish to continue enhancement?]

Success, it actually succeeded.

The usually unlucky Su Xiao had actually enhanced a +10 dark purple weapon today, a truly rare occurrence.

A slightly crazy thought appeared, whether to continue enhancing.

’I can do it.’

This thought lingered in his mind, but after hesitating for a moment, Su Xiao shook his head.

The [Phantom Demon Stone] was not shattered and could be retrieved from the equipment enhancement machine for future use.

Moreover, when the Dragon Slash is upgraded to a higher quality, the enhancement level will decrease, requiring further enhancement then.

An enhancement of +10 is sufficient for most situations, especially since the success rate for +11 enhancement drops significantly to only 6%, and for +12, it’s 1%.

Su Xiao took out the Dragon Slash along with the [Phantom Demon Stone], carefully stowing away the [Phantom Demon Stone].

Holding the Dragon Slash in his hand, the blade occasionally flickered with a dark glow.

He performed a virtual slash, and a sharp slicing sound pierced the air, leaving a faint purple trace in the air, a distinct feature of +10 enhancement.

Checking the attributes of the Dragon Slash, Su Xiao’s pupils slightly constricted.

...

After increasing to +10, the sharpness of the Dragon Slash improved, and more importantly, the Shadow Dance Break ability underwent a qualitative change.

Ignores defensive power and significantly reduces healing effects.

Although the ability is simpler than before, its effect is several grades stronger.

Su Xiao sheathed the Dragon Slash and headed straight for the arena. He wanted to test the strength of the Dragon Slash’s current effect.

Ten minutes later, Su Xiao arrived at the arena.

[You have entered the arena, please select a mode.]

[Competitive Mode/Spectator Mode.]

Explanations appeared below.

Spectator Mode: You can watch other Contractors compete, costing 5 Paradise coins per hour, with the option to choose matches to watch.

Current matches: 8354.

If you want to watch the top 100 arena matches, it costs 30 Paradise coins per hour.

If you want to watch the top 10 arena matches, it costs 100 Paradise coins per hour.

If you want to watch the top 3 arena matches, it costs 300 Paradise coins per hour.

...

”Choose Competitive Mode.”

[Competitive Mode is divided into [Solo Battle] and [Team Battle].]

Solo Battle is 1V1, and Team Battle is 10V10, with separate ranking mechanisms.

Su Xiao chose Solo Battle, and the matchmaking began.

[Ranking allocation for Hunter is underway. Current rank: 49,506 (Second Tier ranking). (This rank is unrelated to the Hunter’s strength and is based on the number of participations and win-loss record in the arena.)]

[Hunting is encouraged, as the top 10 competitors in the arena will receive special rewards (different from First Tier rewards).]

Due to his relatively low rank, Su Xiao didn’t have to wait long.

[Match successful!]

Su Xiao, inside the resting pod, disappeared. When his vision returned, he was already standing on a competitive platform with a diameter of over a hundred meters, surrounded by tiered spectator seats filled with thousands of people.

The Second Tier arena is indeed different; even someone ranked around 50,000 draws such a crowd.

Ignoring the shouts and discussions of the spectators, Su Xiao drew the Dragon Slash from his waist and looked at his opponent, a female Mage. From the raging fire element around her, it was clear she was a fire Mage.

”Are you kidding me, a +10 dark purple weapon?”

The female Mage’s lips twitched as she recognized the quality and enhancement level of the weapon in Su Xiao’s hand.

”Shave.”

Su Xiao instantly dashed in front of the female Mage, and a fierce blade aura slashed down.
