Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 507: Chapter 79: Rare Enemy

The blade fell, and the female mage’s pupils contracted to needle-like size. She had no time to release chanting skills, only relying on instant skills to retaliate.

The female fire mage was a second-tier contractor and had not encountered an enemy at close range for the first time. She had faced such dangers before, but for some unknown reason, this time she felt a chilling sensation, as if she had met her nemesis!

”Flame Blast.”

The female fire mage shouted, and the fire elements swiftly gathered and compressed around her, finally exploding.

Boom!

A powerful thrust spread out in all directions. Although the audience seats were separated by a protective barrier, the workers in the front rows instinctively stood up.

The flames seemed to explode right in front of them. This thrill was one of the reasons they spent Paradise coins to watch the battles.

In the flames, the female mage breathed a sigh of relief, her long hair billowing, full of heroic spirit.

”Something’s off with this guy.”

The female fire mage immediately readied her next skill. Just then, a metal-encased hand broke through the flames.

”This is impossible!”

The female fire mage instinctively leapt back; her repelling skill had never failed before.

The metal hand gripped the female fire mage’s neck. In an instant, she felt as if her neck would be snapped.

”Flame Shelter.”

A shield formed around the female fire mage, repelling Su Xiao’s hand. This shield was the female fire mage’s ace skill.

Taking a few deep breaths, the over-a-meter-long magic wand flipped in her hand. She was preparing to use her big move, or she would have no chance.

Whoosh~

The whistling sound came, and the female fire mage knew it was the enemy’s sharp blade slashing toward her. She didn’t mind; her shield had blocked countless attacks from the enemy.

Clang!

A pale blue blade aura flew out at an angle, shattering upon hitting the protective barrier in front of the audience seats.

The arena was unusually silent; the female fire mage did not unleash her skill again.

The flames receded, and after seeing the scene on the field, a large crowd of spectators stood up.

”Is it over?”

”No way.”

On the field.

The female fire mage was down on the ground, one arm along with half her body cleaved off, the flame shield split neatly like a broken eggshell, now slowly drifting apart.

The female fire mage struggled to stand up, her lips trembled as if she had forgotten she was in the arena; the blade she just faced was terrifying, making her think she was in a Derivative World.

A few seconds later, the female fire mage realized she was in the arena and would not die.

She gave a helpless bitter smile, remembering Su Xiao’s sword and the blood-colored mask on his face.

”+10 weapon lives up to its name, I concede.”

The female fire mage proactively surrendered, and Su Xiao, who had no penchant for torturing enemies, readily accepted the surrender.

Wow~

A wave of applause came from the audience seats.

”Nice job with the sword.”

Perhaps having bet on Su Xiao to win, a golden female contractor raised her shirt in front, and whistles sounded around.

Performing a flourish with his sword, Su Xiao was very satisfied with the current Dragon Slash, with a blade sharpness bonus of 17 points, making the Dragon Slash exceptionally sharp.

The most important aspect of a blade is its sharpness; additional abilities are secondary—at least that’s what Su Xiao believes.

With the opponent’s surrender, the duel ended, and Su Xiao was teleported back to the rest chamber.

[Solo battle ended, victory!]

[Hunter’s rank increased, from 49506th to 49307th (Second Tier).]

...

The rank increased by about two hundred positions, indicating that the opponent’s rank wasn’t high.

To quickly improve rank, the best method is consecutive wins. Once consecutive wins exceed ten, rank will increase by leaps and bounds.

Su Xiao was very interested in the rewards for being in the top ten of the Second Tier, but he didn’t think he could reach the top ten anytime soon. ’There are always others better,’ this saying holds in Reincarnation Paradise.

He had not faced defeat yet in the arena and desired to match against a formidable opponent capable of defeating him; that would be a good thing.

Su Xiao didn’t join the arena solely for the top ten rewards; the more important purpose was to refine combat skills.

Choosing to continue matching, it took less than a dozen seconds before Su Xiao matched with the second opponent.

It was still the traditionally styled arena. As long as Su Xiao and his opponent didn’t actively choose otherwise, the arena was the default venue.

The opponent Su Xiao matched with was again a woman, a long-legged beauty holding a whip and wearing high heels.

Smack.

The thin whip cracked through the air, producing a crisp sound.

As Su Xiao prepared to rush forward to quickly solve the enemy, the opponent’s maneuver stopped his advance.

A snow wolf appeared out of thin air, followed by a three-meter-tall gray bear and a five-meter-long crocodile.

In just a few seconds, dozens of beasts surrounded the long-legged beauty in leather pants, a combination of beauty and beasts emerged.

She was a summoner, a rare class. Su Xiao wanted to understand the combat style of summoners.

Glancing at the Dragon Slash in his hand, Su Xiao hesitated for a moment before sheathing it, approaching the female summoner unarmed.

”What do you mean?”

The female summoner was displeased, interpreting his sheathing of the weapon as a sign of belittlement.

”Nothing, just afraid I might accidentally kill you.”

Hearing Su Xiao’s words, the female summoner grimaced in anger, but moments later, she laughed, seemingly infuriated to laughter by Su Xiao.

Yet, she wasn’t aware Su Xiao was speaking the truth. For second-tier contractors, Su Xiao had previously used his full strength, slicing the female fire mage in two with a single strike.

This situation wasn’t rare. Although second-tier contractors were strong, Su Xiao had recently improved significantly. Being the Shadow of Annihilation Law, a single strike rendered mages with low pain tolerance powerless.

Moreover, his current ranking was around fifty thousand. If he couldn’t handle contractors of this ranking with ease, he’d be doomed when facing second-tier violators.

Su Xiao sprinted forward swiftly, unarmed!

The female summoner wielded her whip.

”Children, tear him apart.”

A horde of beasts lunged at Su Xiao; a confident smile appeared on the female summoner’s face. As long as she had time to summon, her beasts would appear in an endless stream, ensuring her victory in this match.

Five minutes later.

Bang.

The female summoner fell to the ground, surrounded by beasts severely injured or slowly turning into light after death.

”What... what do you really want?”

The female summoner no longer resisted, lying motionless on the ground.

”No other abilities? Only effects like berserk and acceleration for the beasts.”

Su Xiao squatted in front of the female summoner.

”No, accept my surrender. I’ve surrendered five times; many people are watching, give me some dignity.”

Facing downward, the female summoner seemed too embarrassed to be seen, not because she was thrashed by Su Xiao, which wasn’t embarrassing, but because she recalled her prior confident smile.

”You still thought you could summon a big beast; never mind.”

Second consecutive win.

Light golden letters floated up.

After accepting the surrender, Su Xiao vanished from the arena stage, as a large group of dumbfounded workers looked on from the audience seats; such one-sided beatdowns were rare.

[Solo battle ended, victory, two consecutive wins!]

[Hunter’s rank increased, from 49307th to 45001st (Second Tier).]

...

The benefits of consecutive wins emerged. Just with two consecutive wins, Su Xiao’s rank increased by over four thousand positions.
