Chapter 530: Chapter 18: Ring

Successfully joining Akatsuki, although the world difficulty increases significantly, it’s not without other benefits.

[Notice: Hunter has joined the Akatsuki camp, the Camp Shop is now open.]

[Camp Shop is open, current Contribution Value: 0.]

[Hunter can exchange items at the Camp Shop using Contribution Value.]

[Because Akatsuki camp is a Neutral Chaos Camp, affection level is friendly neutral, with no possibility of increase.]

[Hunter must proceed with caution, any suspicious behavior will lead to Akatsuki members attacking you.]

...

A series of prompts appeared. As a major force in the Naruto World, Akatsuki naturally has a Camp Shop, similar to the CCG Contribution Store in the Ghoul world.

The Camp Shop is located within the Hidden Rain Village, the exact location Su Xiao already knows. As for how to earn Contribution Value, it should be by completing missions assigned by Akatsuki.

After Su Xiao joined Akatsuki, Konan left the room, and shortly returned with a black robe with red clouds and a ring in her hand.

”There aren’t many rules in Akatsuki, but you must wear this outfit when carrying out missions, and this ring must never be taken off in any situation.”

Su Xiao took the black robe with red clouds, draped it over his shoulders, and then grabbed the ring in his hand.

The ring wasn’t particularly special, the ring face was the size of a dragon’s eye, with the character ’Void’ on it.

The previous owner of the ring was named Orochimaru, who didn’t stay long before being ’persuaded to leave’ by Itachi, so the ring has been vacant.

Akatsuki members are scattered around the world, generally not staying in Hidden Rain Village. Nagato uses the Phantom Lantern Body Jutsu to gather the phantom clones of Akatsuki members.

Not only for gathering, but also for Konan to issue daily missions using this jutsu.

Moreover, through this ring, Su Xiao can sense the location of himself and other Akatsuki members, allowing them to find each other’s positions.

This ring is equivalent to a remote communication device and locator. Without it, Akatsuki would be a disorganized group, making contact too inconvenient.

”Understood.”

Su Xiao placed the ring on his right hand, while his left hand was covered with a red metal armguard, making it impossible to wear the ring.

”So... what do I do next?”

Having just joined Akatsuki, the organization would surely require him to provide a ’pledge’, meaning doing some ’bad deeds’ to show loyalty.

”Go find your partner.”

”Partner?”

Su Xiao was a bit puzzled. Akatsuki had three teams, and each team was a duo pairing.

Itachi and Kisame’s team, Sasori and Deidara’s team, Kakuza and Hidan’s team.

”Yes, they are in the River Country.”

River Country is located between the Country of Fire and the Land of Wind, a medium-sized country at peace with the world. It serves as a buffer region on the border of the Country of Fire, isolating the Land of Wind. The Country of Fire wouldn’t allow any other countries to invade this nation.

Su Xiao didn’t ask further. If there are Akatsuki members in the River Country, he should be able to sense them with the ’Ring of the Void’. He was a bit curious about who this unknown partner might be.

The negotiation ended there. Although Su Xiao seemed to have become a formal member of Akatsuki, it was not truly the case. Konan placed him into a two-person team, making him the third member, clearly meaning for the other two to monitor and observe Su Xiao.

Even though Akatsuki had already investigated Su Xiao’s information, observing him for some time was still necessary.

Konan stood up to leave the room and, when reaching the door, suddenly remembered something.

”By the way, you must not reveal any information about the organization, and be careful of your two partners, don’t let them kill you.”

Konan sighed and left the room. There used to be many reserve members in Akatsuki, but after official pairing, many reserve members were killed. Kakuza and Sasori had made significant ’contributions’ to this.

Especially Kakuza, as several members paired with him were killed one after another, until he met that oddity, Hidan. After numerous attempts, Hidan was still alive and kicking, while Kakuza lost two hearts.

After Konan left, Kisame also departed, leaving only Su Xiao and Bubu Wang in the room.

Bubu Wang lay on the ground with an expressionless face, even though inside he had already given nicknames to Kisame and Konan. In Bubu Wang’s mind, Kisame’s nickname was Fish Stick, and Konan was the Long-legged Female Creature.

Su Xiao lit a cigarette, blue smoke curling as his eyes slightly narrowed, seemingly in thought.

The first stage of the main quest was already completed, as for the destruction of Konoha, Su Xiao wouldn’t be involved in that for now.

Nagato would eventually go to Konoha, but not while a certain person was alive, and that person was Itachi.

When Itachi joined Akatsuki, he made an agreement with Nagato: Itachi would assist in Akatsuki’s activities in exchange for Nagato not attacking Konoha or capturing the Nine-tails.

Given Itachi’s current physical state, supporting for a few more years wasn’t a problem. However, soon he would choose death for his brother’s sake, dying before his eyes were completely blind.

Currently, Itachi’s combat power had significantly weakened. The Mangekyo Sharingan was indeed powerful, but using it continuously corroded his vision and body.

Now, Itachi was beginning to see things over ten meters away as blurry, and anything further was entirely indistinct.

Between the clan and the village, Itachi chose the village. Between his brother and the village, Itachi chose his brother.

So unless Itachi dies, Nagato won’t attack Konoha. An enraged Itachi was something even Nagato was wary of.

Su Xiao didn’t need to think about these matters for now. Nagato would surely attack Konoha within two months, otherwise, the task’s difficulty would be much higher.

Su Xiao needed to take out the Violators and capture the Jinchuriki before the assault on Konoha.

Between these two tasks, he chose to hunt the Jinchuriki first, as it would significantly boost his strength, making it easier to deal with the Violators.

Before hunting the Jinchuriki, Su Xiao had to do one more thing—gain the trust of the Akatsuki Organization.

He outlined a progression plan in his mind: Gain Akatsuki’s trust → Hunt Tailed Beasts → Eliminate Violators → Assist Nagato in destroying Konoha.

Besides this sequence, there was one more task: the chaotic battle among Contractors and the matter of the Demon Hunting Suit.

Weighing his options, Su Xiao decided not to actively engage in this matter. If he happened to encounter it, he might try to seize it, provided he wasn’t besieged by the three large Adventure Teams.

Not only would he perish if attacked by the three Adventure Teams, but being besieged by even one of them could kill him. If not for the chaos of the three Adventure Teams previously, he wouldn’t have had a second thought about getting involved. He initially intended to fish in troubled waters, but as soon as he had this idea, Gulu succeeded, leading him to promptly abandon it.
