Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 700: Chapter 699: The Winner of This War Has Already Been Decided

When Fang Zheng returned to the castle of the World Tree of a Thousand Realms, an hour had already passed.

Although Jeanne d’Arc had become his Servant, Fang Zheng did not bring her back with him. According to the agreement he had with ”that side,” Jeanne d’Arc would continue to carry out her tasks, and Fang Zheng didn’t really need her help here. He didn’t need abilities like seeing through True Names, and Magic Resistance EX... didn’t mean much to Fang Zheng, as for whether he could fight...

Well, it had already been proven that Fang Zheng could fight better than Jeanne d’Arc.

By the time Fang Zheng returned to the castle, the others had also successfully returned, but the mood among them was not very good. Although they had successfully captured the Red BERSERKER, they had lost the Black SABER; moreover, to help the Black BERSERKER escape from the pursuit of the Red RIDER, her MASTER Coles had even used one of his Command Seals to teleport her back, otherwise, the Black Side might have lost two great generals that night.

This naturally infuriated Danik to no end. He lambasted Gold, berating him for turning a favorable situation of the Black Side into this mess. Not only had they lost the Black SABER, but a BERSERKER had also used up a Command Seal; had they not successfully captured the Red BERSERKER, the losses of the Black Side would have been equivalent to those of the Red Faction.

Of course, in Fang Zheng’s view, even capturing the Red BERSERKER was useless... but he was too lazy to bother. It was an issue for Danik to worry about; he just had to leave it to him to deal with.

Therefore, after that, Fang Zheng quickly returned to his own room, closed his eyes, and began to recall the agreement he had reached with a will located in the mysterious Abyss.

Alaya...

This was not the first time Fang Zheng had read about it in novels, but it was indeed the first time he had truly contacted it. It seemed that Alaya had noticed Fang Zheng’s power and essence, hence it asked for his help, hoping he could assist in protecting humanity.

In that distant future.

One day, this planet would perish, but humanity would not be extinguished because of it; they would set off across the universe, travel to other planets, and continue to thrive, but that was something the will of the planet wouldn’t allow. The will of the planet didn’t mind its own death, nor did it mind being killed by the life it nurtured, but it wouldn’t allow its life to harm other planets, so it would prefer to call upon the wills of other planets to eradicate the life it had bred, rather than let them move forward... Well, it seems difficult to understand, but when you think about it, it really does make some sense.

After all, for this planet, humans are just one of the species living on it, not even its eldest child, for there were other species before humans that were born and then perished. Then humans were born and will continue to perish. For the will of the planet, humans and other species are no different. Perhaps after the extinction of humans, the planet will continue to absorb their remains and then nurture new life.

But for humans themselves, they clearly would not accept the same fate as the dinosaurs.

And humans alone cannot contend with the will of the planet.

So Alaya sought Fang Zheng.

The reason Alaya sought Fang Zheng was simple, because Fang Zheng was — the Master of the Stars.

Honestly, when he first heard this answer, Fang Zheng was quite baffled, unable to figure out when he had acquired such a lofty title. However, after a moment’s thought, he got it. The Zerg in the Ironblood World had occupied numerous planets, nearly a thousand or at least eight hundred, and he, being the Zerg Overlord, being called the Master of the Stars...

Seemed indeed correct?

Ah, thinking thus, Fang Zheng just realized that his real estate had already spread throughout the entire Galaxy!

In a nutshell, according to Alaya, because Fang Zheng had conquered countless planets, he had earned the title ”Lord of the Stars,” which comes with inherent buffs to suppress, weaken, and conquer the wills of planets. Therefore, it found Fang Zheng, hoping to make an agreement for Fang Zheng to negotiate with and subdue or suppress the will of the planet. Of course, if the will of the planet proved utterly stubborn, then before the final day of Judgment, Fang Zheng could utterly annihilate it.

Of course, since it was a transaction, Fang Zheng naturally would not work for free. He and Alaya reached the following consensus.

Fang Zheng could assist Alaya in maximally protecting the continued existence of humans without letting them perish—which was not difficult for Fang Zheng and was consistent with his stance.

In return, Alaya would allow Fang Zheng to use various means to influence and rule over humans.

Well, that is to say, unbeknownst to them, the humans of this world suddenly had a new ”father”.

Although this may seem like mere words, Fang Zheng was very clear about what it meant within the Moon World.

Alaya is the Suppression Power of primates, a collective subconscious of humanity. Within the human subconscious, there is a longing for conquest, which naturally is also filled with a spirit of resistance. This is why all actions aimed at annihilating specific groups in human history have ultimately failed, because Alaya, as the Suppression Power of primates, does not permit large-scale death and destruction of humans.

But every war brings death and destruction, and if not sustained over time, even wars aimed at conquest would eventually lead to fragmentation.

Simply put, in the Moon World, if you do not gain the acceptance of Alaya, then trying to rule the world would mean facing countless resistors, and you might even encounter various resistors and heroic characters in your own ruled regions causing trouble for you.

All in all, in such a scenario, any attempt to affect all of humanity would encounter endless troubles and resistance, eventually leading to failure.

However, conversely, if you were to gain the approval of Alaya, your path would be as smooth as if you were cheating, not only would your enemies at the front collapse at a touch, but the rear would also be stable and peaceful. Even attempts at rebellion or backstabbing would fail due to various reasons.

Generally speaking, Alaya would not offer such conditions, but Fang Zheng suspected that it was so generous this time because it had its eye on the ”real estate” managed by the Zerg in his possession, after all, in the Ironblood World, there were planets suitable for human habitation. Moreover, in the world that Fang Zheng had traveled to, there might be even more planets suitable for habitation.

Therefore, for Alaya, if it could cling to Fang Zheng’s coattails, then unless Fang Zheng died, humans would not have to worry about extinction.

As for Fang Zheng being a Time Dragon, whether he would die...

Well, that’s also an issue.

Besides, Alaya also promised that after Fang Zheng obtained the Third Magic, it would transfer the summoning rights of the Hall of Heroic Spirits to Fang Zheng, meaning that after obtaining the Third Magic, he would be able to control Heroic Spirits himself and could also pass the Command Seal to those he recognized, allowing them to summon Heroic Spirits.

To sum up, the agreement between both parties was basically as follows.

Alaya promised to make Fang Zheng the supreme ruler of humanity, to obtain the Third Magic, and to control the rights to the Hall of Heroic Spirits.

Whereas Fang Zheng needed to suppress and resist the harm from planetary wills to humans, to protect the continuation of humanity, and also to eliminate major disasters threatening humans.

Hmm? Wait a second, why was it certain that Fang Zheng would definitely obtain the Third Magic?

Because the victor of this war had been predetermined from the start!
