Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 655: Chapter 654: Everything is the Choice of Steins Gate! (Part 1)

The next morning, Shido got up bright and early.

It was a day off, so he didn’t need to ask for leave from school. But for Shido, this wasn’t the issue at hand. The real problem was that he had a date today!

And he was going to the date cross-dressed!!

Just thinking about it filled Shido with a sense of gloom. Honestly, he didn’t hold any grudge against Fang Zheng. The guy wasn’t the annoying, pretty-faced type, nor was he a bad friend like Hiroto Tonomachi. In fact, Fang Zheng was pretty much Shido’s ideal man—he was strong, gentle, decisive, and confident. If possible, Shido wished he could be half the man Fang Zheng was...

But admiration and kissing are two different things!

The very thought of kissing a guy made Shido’s hair stand on end. Now, all he could do was hope that Kotori would eventually change her mind and abandon the seal on Fang Zheng and Yoshino.

But for now...

”Sigh...”

Looking at his reflection in the mirror, Shido let out a resigned sigh, then began to apply foundation, lipstick, and draw on his eyebrows before putting on a wig... Not long after, the image of a beautiful blue-haired beauty appeared in the mirror.

”Why do I have to learn all this useless stuff.”

Shido—no, now Shiki—hung their head in dejection. Under Kotori’s threat the previous night that if he didn’t learn makeup quickly she would broadcast the Spell Text he wrote in junior high to Summon the Demon King all over Celestial City, Shido had worked desperately to escape the dreadful fate.

”Ah, there are some dark circles. I didn’t sleep enough I remember the book said you could use... What am I doing?!”

Mumbling to himself, Shiki threw the makeup products he was holding to the side, then squatted on the ground with his hands on his head.

Why did it feel like he was losing a bit of himself too?

Although disheartened, Shiki still put on makeup, ate breakfast, and then, summoning all his courage, he stepped out of the house and walked towards the agreed meeting place.

Since Fang Zheng and Yoshino had only recently arrived in Celestial City, to facilitate support from ”Ratastok,” Shiki had chosen the statue in front of Celestial Paradise Square as the rendezvous point. Initially, Shido was worried whether the two could find the place, but upon arriving, he immediately spotted them.

The reason was simple: their presence was too conspicuous.

Because yesterday’s encounter was at a fast-food restaurant and coupled with the ”rowdy battle,” Shiki hadn’t observed the two closely. But now, in this public setting, Shiki fully realized the immense charm the two possessed.

The evidence was that—anyone passing in front of the statue, regardless of gender, would turn their heads to look at them a hundred percent of the time.

Women’s gazes lingered on Fang Zheng, and Shiki even noticed a few high school girls who had come out for a leisurely day, giggling and whispering to each other as they held up their phones. Occasionally he heard comments like, ”Are they celebrities? Are they here filming a show?” ”But there’s no cameraman.” ”If we invite him, do you think he’ll play with us?” and so on.

Men’s gazes, on the other hand, were mostly fixed on Yoshino. Although Yoshino looked like just a middle schooler and didn’t have a particularly impressive figure, right now, wearing a pure white dress and a sun hat, she exuded a fragile beauty that made people itch to hold her in their arms and cherish her.

Even though both were so attention-grabbing, no one approached them. The reason was simple: just standing there, both emitted a strong aura that turned a common place into a scene one might only find in a glossy magazine.

In this situation, if someone were to approach and join them, it would be like an ugly duckling blundering into Swan Lake, only feeling out of place. Truth be told, Shiki was already regretting not listening to Kotori and dressing up in the extravagant clothes she had prepared, instead opting for the school uniform he wore before.

If only he had chosen something more suitable earlier...

However, it was too late to go back and change now, so Shiki had no choice but to boldly walk over.

”Hello, Miss Shiki.”

Seeing Shiki approach, Fang Zheng raised his hand and gave him a wave of greeting, which also drew the attention of bystanders. Before long, Shiki sensed many eyes turning to him, followed by a slight commotion.

”Wow, another beauty, and a different type from the kid before; this one’s right up my alley.”

”They must be models, I wonder where they debuted? Do they have a photo album?”

”Could it be they’re shooting an advertisement?... Wait, isn’t that the uniform from Zen High School?”

Hearing the whispers of those around him, Shiki instinctively shrank, thinking he should have heeded Kotori and changed into a different outfit before coming out... But now it was too late for regrets.

”Sorry for making you wait.”

With that thought, Shiki quickly jogged over to Fang Zheng’s side and then bowed her head, while Fang Zheng waved his hand dismissively.

”It’s nothing; we’ve only just arrived . . . So, let’s go,” he said.

”Okay.”

To avoid becoming the center of attention, Shiki quickly agreed and hurriedly led the two away from the square.

”So, Mr. Fang Zheng, and Miss Yoshino, is there anywhere in particular you’d like to visit?”

After leaving the square and escaping the crowd, Shiki breathed a sigh of relief and immediately remembered her responsibilities, starting to inquire. As someone who had lived in Celestial City for over a decade, she was quite familiar with the area.

”Yoshino doesn’t like crowded places, so somewhere with few people and quiet would be good,” Fang Zheng replied.

”Somewhere with few people . . . ”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s suggestion, Shiki began to ponder. Even with Ratastok’s assistance and the ability to create a scene of great depression even in a crowded shopping district, these two elves weren’t like Shika, who lacked common sense. Moreover, today was a day off, and if she took them to a place that should be crowded but was deserted instead, it might arouse their suspicion. So . . .

”Then, let’s go to the aquarium,” Shiki decided quickly.

”Ding dong.”

What Shiki didn’t expect was that as soon as the words left her mouth, a system notification sound suddenly sounded in Fang Zheng’s ear. The system interface in front of Fang Zheng opened, and a die materialized out of thin air, landing in Fang Zheng’s hand.

[Random task: Dice of Fate activated. Please throw within five seconds.]

The Dice of Fate . . . What exactly is this?

Of course, Fang Zheng remembered that after the system rebooted, there were two new functions, and the Dice of Fate was probably related to the Fire of the Abyss. But what now . . . What was he supposed to do with it?

Anyway, you just throw it, and that’s it, right?

With that thought, Fang Zheng glanced at Shiki leading the way in front of him. His palm flipped gently, and the next moment, the Dice of Fate flew from his hand, tracing an arc forward and whizzing into Shiki’s body.

”Hm?”

At that moment, Shiki suddenly trembled and turned her head in surprise, looking around . . . but there was nothing there?

”What’s wrong, Miss Shiki?”

Seeing Shiki’s reaction, Fang Zheng grew curious. He just tossed it casually, but unexpectedly, the Dice of Fate seemed to have its own homing ability and directly entered Shiki’s body . . . Speaking of which, this thing won’t cause any harm, right?

”No, I suddenly felt a chill on my back . . . probably just my imagination. Ah, this way, please. We’re taking the tram,” Shiki said and once again started walking ahead. At the same time, another system message appeared before Fang Zheng.

[Dice of Fate: Five points —— Increase Shido Gokawa’s goodwill to ’Friendly’ within ten minutes to randomly trigger an event.]

” . . . ”

What kind of ridiculous thing is this?

Looking at the system message, Fang Zheng was nonplussed.

This world’s set up is like a GALGAME, and now you’re seriously giving me a GALGAME challenge?

And why am I supposed to woo a man?
