Chapter 658: Chapter 657 Shido Gokawa’s Faltering

”Sigh...”

Having returned home and taken off his crossdressing attire, Shido heaved a long sigh.

The date today hadn’t gone particularly smoothly because of that pervert, Mr. Fang Zheng and Yoshino hadn’t much interacted with Shido. After visiting the aquarium, Mr. Fang Zheng and Yoshino treated Shido to lunch to calm him down, then sent him home.

Although slightly embarrassed, Shido nodded and agreed to Mr. Fang Zheng’s suggestion. After all, it was his first time experiencing such a situation, which could be said to have almost left Shido with a psychological shadow. He indeed needed some time to settle his feelings, so ultimately, Shido ended the date rather hastily and went home to rest.

”Ah......I never expected myself to be so helpless.”

Recalling the scene in the tram, Shido bowed his head and sighed. He had always considered himself a very ordinary male. Even though he was dressed in women’s clothing and looked every bit the beautiful girl, Shido still insisted that he was just a regular boy.

However......his reaction at the time made Shido feel ashamed.

Facing the harassment from that man, Shido did nothing to stop him, instead froze in terror, immobile. He even ended up crying, and if Mr. Fang Zheng hadn’t offered his handkerchief, he wouldn’t have known he was crying......That’s not how a man should act!

Thinking back on his actions, Shido wished he could find a crack in the ground to crawl into. He was a man, after all, how could he behave so......so......he didn’t even know how to describe it!

On the other hand, Mr. Fang Zheng was completely the opposite of him.

Thinking this, Shido recalled the moment when Mr. Fang Zheng stepped forward and stopped that man. Shido had always hoped that he could be more manly. What Mr. Fang Zheng did wholly aligned with Shido’s ideal: a confident man who wouldn’t just follow the flow and possessed a hero’s demeanor. If he could also become such a man, he would certainly be able to better protect Kotori and the other spirits.

”Thump thump thump......!”

Just then, Shido suddenly heard a rush of footsteps. As he turned around, the door was forcibly opened with a bang, and his sister, Kotori Gokawa, rushed into his room in a hurry.

”Are you okay, Brother?!”

At this moment, Kotori’s face was also extremely pale. Due to the crowd in the tram, she didn’t know what had occurred until Mr. Fang Zheng caught that middle-aged man and handed him over to the police. Only then did Kotori learn about the incident—that her brother had been harassed by that man on the tram?!

After hearing this, Kotori was so furious that she bit her lollipop into pieces, and about that delusional man...... well, Kotori had already given orders to let him enjoy picking up soap in prison. If he didn’t pick up at least a hundred and eighty pieces of soap, he wasn’t getting out!

He dared to lay his evil hands on her brother, seeking his own death!

”Ah, Kotori.”

Seeing his sister, Shido, whose emotions were still fluctuating, became calmer. Kotori threw herself into Shido’s arms, looking up at him anxiously.

”You’re okay, aren’t you, brother?”

”I’m fine, don’t worry. Thanks to Mr. Fang Zheng, I wasn’t treated too badly.”

It’s just that, he might have nightmares tonight.

”I’m really sorry......”

Hearing Shido’s answer, Kotori bowed her head and apologized in a soft voice.

”If it wasn’t for me insisting on you crossdressing, brother, you wouldn’t have encountered this...”

”This isn’t your fault, Kotori......”

Seeing his sister’s disheartened expression, Shido immediately started to comfort her.

”It’s alright, I’m not hurt, see? I’m fine, aren’t I?”

”Are you really okay?”

Upon hearing this, Kotori raised her head again, looking at Shido, then she seemed to make up her mind as she bit her lip.

”Shido... maybe we should give up on this mission. After all, those two elves don’t seem like troublemakers, and they also seem capable of solving problems through societal rules. If I apply to the higher-ups, maybe we can keep them under observation...”

When Kotori said this, it wasn’t without basis, honestly, when she saw Fang Zheng and that man having a conflict, she too was taken aback. Normally, according to Kotori’s impression, most elves lacked common sense and were self-centered; if it were Shika or the Yamai Sisters, they would probably tear the opponent to pieces without surprise. But, to Kotori’s surprise, the opponents actually made a sensible move by handing the criminal over to the police... If it weren’t for the detection of spiritual power fluctuation, Kotori might have completely regarded them as ordinary humans.

If it had been before, Shido would probably have immediately raised both hands in agreement. But now, for some reason, he hesitated.

Although Shido thought, not having to crossdress was certainly for the better, the thought that this would mean he could no longer meet Fang Zheng made him somewhat regretful. After all, Fang Zheng was the epitome of the perfect male image in his mind, and Shido had initially planned to follow Fang Zheng and try to learn something from him to become more ”manly.”

But now...

For a moment, Shido found himself in a dilemma.

As for Fang Zheng, clearly, he was not as conflicted.

I never thought the Dice of Fate would be this terrifying.

Recalling the events of the day, Fang Zheng broke out in a cold sweat, this damn dice indeed deserved to be called a creation of the Abyss, even its rewards carried a strong malevolence. What ghostly story rewards... It’s a good thing they were absorbed by Shido Gokawa, the crossdresser. If they had been absorbed by him...

The thought of possibly being taken advantage of by a middle-aged man or a promiscuous woman made Fang Zheng break out in a cold sweat all over.

And if it had been absorbed by Yoshino... Oh my god, that scenario is too beautiful, I dare not even think it!

If previously, Fang Zheng regarded the Dice of Fate as just a minor game, now he saw it as the most dreadful curse.

What’s worse, once released, whether the mission is completed or not, the ”reward” will be triggered...

It’s truly deadly.

Isn’t the Fire of the Abyss suppressed by me still supposed to be subdued?

While internally cursing the damned flame that kept causing trouble, Fang Zheng continued tapping on the keyboard in his hand, searching for information about Shido Gokawa and Kotori Gokawa. He had practically exhausted the data on the warship’s main computer, he even uncovered a weird novel named ”Fall in Love, My Little Shido” in an encrypted folder within...

However, among these documents, there was no data explaining why Shido Gokawa possessed such powers. It only stated that Shido Gokawa’s sister suddenly awakened as an elf five years ago, and at that time Shido Gokawa sealed her powers with a kiss...

Though not his biological sister, to take such action on his sister, and five years ago... I never would have guessed from his frail face that he was such a beast!

So, what should he do next?

While perusing the data in his hands, Fang Zheng began to think.

Perhaps... he should watch a little longer?
