Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 652: Chapter 651: The Sacrifice Made to Save the World

”Do you understand, Shido? In order to protect this world, your ability is indispensable, and what you need to do is to seal the powers of those Elves, so they can come to like this world.”

”I get the idea, Kotori, but... ...”

”Honestly, what is there left to fuss over?”

Hearing Shido’s words, Kotori looked at him with dissatisfaction, while Shido looked at himself with a gloomy expression.

”Of course, I’m going to complain, why do I have to dress as a girl!!”

That’s right, the Shido at this moment had already changed out of his usual uniform, and instead was dressed in a girl’s uniform, complete with a blue wig.

”What’s the big deal? No matter how you look at it, you’re a heart-thrillingly pretty girl, aren’t you? You’re truly my brother, top-class material!”

As she spoke, Kotori gave Shido a thumbs up, while the others around him nodded their heads as well. Just as Kotori had said, Shido’s face had always been rather androgynous, soft in appearance. When he wore men’s clothes and had short hair, it was nothing out of the ordinary, but now with a wig and a girl’s uniform, he looked like a pretty girl no matter how one looked at him.

Well, a pretty girl with a rather sparse figure, to be exact.

”But why do I have to dress up like this?! I’m just going to make contact with the Elves, to check on their relationship, right? Can’t I just look into it a bit? Why do I have to dress up like this?!”

”That’s because you really are a blockhead, big brother!” freёweɓnovel_com

No sooner had Shido finished speaking than Kotori threw the lollipop in her mouth at him, hitting him on the head.

”The reason we’re using this safer method is precisely because we’re not sure of their relationship! If their relationship is like that of siblings, won’t your careless approach just get blocked by the other party? Think about it, if I got hit on by some random guy who suddenly showed up and who you don’t know at all, what would you do?”

”... ... That... is a good point... ...”

Hearing this, Shido nodded in agreement. If it were him and Kotori, and some guy suddenly came up to chat up his sister, then Shido, as her elder brother, would definitely step in to stop him. By then, forget about getting closer to the person; he’d probably wind up banned for life.

”But on the other hand, if you pretend to be a woman attracted by the Knight, then there won’t be any problems!”

”Why the hell do I, a man, have to hit on another man!!”

If he could, Shido really wanted to jump right off the warship. This was practically a public execution, no, even more outrageous than something you’d be ordered to do in a King game. As his sister, didn’t Kotori think about the kind of mental trauma this would cause her own brother?!

”It’s your mission! Shido! Remember, the heavy responsibility of saving the world rests on you!”

Listening to his sister’s words, Shido felt for the first time how difficult it was to save the world.

”Hoho... This is really interesting... ...”

But what they didn’t know was that their conversation inside Phylaxis had already been overheard by Fang Zheng. After hearing their plan, Fang Zheng shook his head and chuckled bitterly. He never imagined the guy named Shido Gokawa to actually be so submissive, completely dominated by his sister, and even cross-dressing... But this was for the best.

Thinking this, the corners of Fang Zheng’s mouth curled up slightly, revealing a mischievous smile.

Let them regret what they’ve done.

”... ... Mr. Fang Zheng... ... what’s wrong... ...?”

At this moment, Yoshino was also curiously watching Fang Zheng, not understanding why he suddenly laughed so wickedly. Fang Zheng waved Yoshino over, gesturing for her to bring her ear closer, then he whispered something into her ear. Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Yoshino’s eyes widened in surprise, and then she blinked.

”But is that really... okay... ...?”

”What does it matter? Don’t forget, their target is you, Yoshino. Of course, I have to teach them a lesson.”

”Are you kidding me? Making a move on Yoshino in front of me? As if I don’t exist?”

”Since that’s what you’re planning to do, then I have my ways to respond!”

It wasn’t long before Fang Zheng saw a beautiful girl with blue hair wearing a uniform walk into the restaurant. ”She” looked around timidly, then went to the counter and ordered a portion of fried chicken and fries. After that, ”she” started looking for a seat while holding the tray.

It was after work hours, so the fast-food restaurant was crowded... Although it seemed to be the case, Fang Zheng, who had already infiltrated the enemy warship’s main computer, knew that half of these people were members of the organization in disguise. And that ”girl” was heading towards them with her tray.

Obviously, they were trying to create the effect of ”the restaurant is so crowded that I can’t find a seat and have to share a table with someone else.” Fang Zheng had to admit, the organization’s idea in this aspect was really... quite ingenious.

Shido, dressed in women’s clothing, obviously was unaware of this and approached, face flushed and almost burying his head into the tray. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng was chatting with Yoshino while carefully observing the ”girl” in front of him, wanting to see what ”she” was planning to do.

It’s really nerve-wracking!

With each step bringing him closer to the target table, Shido felt sweat bead on his forehead. Although he had fully disguised himself as a girl and even used a voice changer, he should not be caught. However, the thought of what he had to do next made Shido’s embarrassment skyrocket!

It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s not a date, just a casual inquiry about the two people’s relationship...

With that thought, Shido involuntarily closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

It was fine, according to the plan, all he needed to do was go up and ask, ”Excuse me, may I sit here?” If the other party agreed, then he would sit down, and during the meal, he could casually ask, ”Is this your first time in this city? You don’t seem like locals,” ”You two seem close, are you siblings?” That’s all there is to it... Yes, just these simple steps, nothing he couldn’t handle!

”Ah, sorry.”

But just as Shido made up his mind to act, an office worker hurried past him from behind, accidentally bumping into him and causing Shido to lose his balance and stumble forward!

”Whoaaa!!”

Crying out from the ”unexpected attack,” Shido closed his eyes, yet to his surprise, he didn’t fall to the ground. Instead, at that moment, Shido felt someone stand in front of him, steadying him.

”Are you okay, miss?”

Hearing this voice, Shido opened his eyes and saw Fang Zheng looking at him with a smile.

”Are you all right? Not hurt, I hope.”

”Ah... um, sorry...”

Hearing this, Shido hastily took a step back, distancing himself from Fang Zheng.

”Um... I...”

”Sure is crowded in here.”

Looking at the red-faced ”girl” with a hint of shyness, Fang Zheng smiled and extended an invitation.

”If you don’t mind, please take a seat here. It just so happens that we don’t have anyone else with us.”

”Eh? Is that okay?”

Facing this unexpected invitation, Shido was taken aback.

This isn’t how the script was supposed to go!
