Chapter 662: Chapter 661: The Legendary Second Elf

”Clang.”

The heavy cargo container was ripped open like a flimsy cardboard box under Fang Zheng’s single strike, revealing the inside...

”Ahh———!! Don’t kill me don’t kill me don’t kill me!!”

Within the iron box, a girl around seventeen or eighteen years old, dressed as a nun, was curled up with a deathly pallor, muttering to herself incessantly. And it was no wonder she looked so terrified; the pitch-black greatsword in Fang Zheng’s hand had nearly grazed her neck as it stabbed into the container behind her.

If it had been off by just an inch, it probably would have been blood spatter on the spot.

Looking at the girl before him, Fang Zheng casually withdrew the longsword. Feeling the cold blade move away from her neck, the girl revealed a bitter smile and looked up at Fang Zheng and Kurumi.

”Oh dear, although I’m very grateful that you two came to rescue me, could you please not scare me like that? There was a moment when I really thought I was done for...”

”Are you the Second Elf?”

Sheathing the greatsword, Fang Zheng scrutinized the girl before him. Truth be told, since he had arrived in this world, the elves he had encountered were mostly beauties. Yoshino was cute and pure, Kurumi elegant and captivating, and even though Fang Zheng had not met Shikou Yato and Yamai Sisters, the photos and footage in Ratastok’s records showed they were extraordinary beauties as well.

But this one...

No chest, no hips, despite wearing a nun’s habit she lacked the holy aura of a nun, appearing utterly dejected as if she just crawled out from a pile of ashes. Only her legs were passable... but compared to Kurumi, they seemed to have no charm at all.

And now, seeing her frightened and tear-streaked... Fang Zheng seriously doubted whether this Second Elf was truly an elf at all. Hold on, could she just be an unfinished product? If that was the case, it would be understandable.

”...Young man, your gaze is quite rude, you know. While I’m aware I’m not Sleeping Beauty or Snow White, you don’t have to look at me that way.”

Clearly, the elf had also noticed the meaning behind Fang Zheng’s gaze and complained. However, Fang Zheng didn’t care about her displeasure. Originally, the elf had been bound by something akin to a restraint device, but Fang Zheng’s recent sword strike had destroyed both the container and the restraint device, allowing her to quickly step out and approach Fang Zheng.

”Let’s get out of here first, we can talk about the rest later.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng gestured to Kurumi. With a giggle, Kurumi reached out, grabbed the Second Elf’s wrist, and in the next moment, the three of them sank into the shadowy darkness.

Not until the trio disappeared did the magicians, who were overwhelmed by Fang Zheng’s presence, come back to their senses. Many sat down on the ground, drenched in sweat and unable to utter a word. Even Jessica was trembling, looking as if she had exhausted all her strength, although all she did was stand there without taking any action. Merely summoning the strength to resist that terrifying pressure had drained Jessica completely.

What on earth was that creature?!

”Boom!!”

Just then, suddenly, a muffled explosion erupted. Hearing this noise, the magicians were taken aback.

What had happened?

Snow and ice scattered.

As Fang Zheng, Kurumi, and the Second Elf left through the shadow, what they first saw was the exploding snowflakes and the silhouette of Yoshino speeding through the snowstorm, manipulating an ice construct. Not far behind Yoshino, a magician clad in CR unit armor was wielding a blade and fiercely attacking her.

”Is it Allen?! Damn, she really did come!”

The Second Elf’s expression changed slightly upon seeing the blonde woman behind.

”Allen?”

”Yes, Allen M. Viscott, the top ace of the DEM company, and also the most powerful magician in this world. I was captured by her originally... Say, young man, that girl is your companion, right? You’d better go help her quickly. From the looks of it, she won’t last much longer!”

As the Second Elf spoke, Fang Zheng saw Yoshino raise both hands. Soon, the snowflakes dancing in the air rapidly formed ice spikes that thrust toward the magician behind her. But the magician seemed to completely ignore the deadly spikes and charged forward with the sword of energy in hand.

Yoshino’s attempt to control the ice spikes did not hit the target. As the spikes approached the magician, they were blocked by the Random Domain, and the very next moment, the blonde magician swung her weapon down, sending a burst of sword light streaking towards Yoshino.

”Ahh!!”

Although Yoshino promptly raised an ice shield for protection, the magician’s attack easily shattered the ice shield around Yoshino, and with a scream, Yoshino and the ice construct were sent flying, crashing into a nearby cliff.

”Haah... Haah...”

Curling into a ball and trembling at the sight of the magician before her, Yoshino was panting heavily.

So terrifying.

Looking at the magician before her, Yoshino had never felt such fear. Although she had initially been alone, frequently attacked by DEM’s magicians, she hadn’t felt so scared then. But this time was completely different.

Yoshino vividly remembered just moments ago, she was still putting effort into maintaining the scale of the blizzard. But suddenly, one of the Kurumi clones forcefully pushed her aside, and when Yoshino turned back, she saw the brutal scene of three Kurumi clones being mercilessly cut down.

So terrifying...

Recalling the scattered blood and severed limbs that littered the ground, Yoshino felt dizzy and nauseated. In the aftermath, she simply ran instinctively, desperate to escape the pursuit of the Magician. However, this Magician clearly possessed power beyond anything the current Yoshino could match, rendering her nearly powerless against her adversary. Even the chilling aura that could freeze the Random Domain seemed nonexistent before this woman.

”It’s over, little one,”

came the cold voice. At the sound, Yoshino trembled in fright and hid behind her Ice Construct, timidly lifting her head to look at the female Magician before her. What met her gaze, however, were a pair of eyes, icy and resolute.

”I never expected an Elf to launch a surprise attack here. But this is good; now I’ve caught another Elf. I wonder what Viscott will do to you? Dissect your body to extract your Spirit Crystal? Torture you with pain? Or perhaps strip you of your dignity as a woman?”

”No... please, don’t... come any closer...”

Hearing the Magician speak, Yoshino shivered even more violently, but Allen paid no heed to her reaction and, weapon in hand, charged towards her.

”It seems you’re easily influenced. You might actually be valuable material; Viscott will certainly appreciate this gift...”

But the female Magician didn’t finish her sentence.

Because just then, a shadow leaped out from the side, its right fist clenched and swinging fiercely towards Allen. Sensing the sudden attack, Allen quickly released her Random Domain, forming a protective Shield in front of her.

But in the next instant, the Random Domain, which should have withstood a full-force blow from an Elf, shattered like fragile glass upon contact with the fist, dissipating instantly.

”What?!”

Realizing this, Allen’s face changed dramatically, but then she was struck by a tremendous blow to the face, and the female Magician screamed as she flew backward, slamming into a nearby mountain. The thunderous noise of the impact echoed through the mountains, followed by the sight of heavy snow cascading down in an avalanche, engulfing her figure completely.

”Are you okay, Yoshino?”

Fang Zheng lowered his right hand and hurried over to Yoshino’s side. Seeing Fang Zheng, Yoshino’s eyes widened in surprise, and then she threw herself at him, clinging tightly to him.

”Mr. Fang Zheng... I’m... I’m so scared... She, she killed Sister Kurumi and was going to capture me...”

With me here, you don’t have to worry,”

Fang Zheng said, patting her back gently to console the frightened girl. Then he turned to look at the shadow beside him. Soon after, Kurumi stepped out from it once more.

”Kurumi, take care of Yoshino and leave here with the Second Elf. Meet me at the predetermined location.”

”Okay, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Kurumi nodded, then reached out to take Yoshino from Fang Zheng’s arms. Seeing Kurumi, Yoshino’s eyes immediately teared up again.

”Sister Kurumi... I’m so relieved you’re okay. I saw that woman... she cut you into pieces... there was blood everywhere... I was so frightened...”

”I’m really sorry about that, Yoshino...”

Kurumi spoke with a wry smile, as she gently stroked Yoshino’s hair.

”Don’t worry, Yoshino, those were just my clones. As long as I have enough time, I can bring them back. But... thank you for being so worried about me. Now, let’s go. Leave this place to Mr. Fang Zheng.”

”Yes... Mr. Fang Zheng... please be careful. That Magician... is very powerful.”

After saying this, Yoshino cast an uneasy glance at Fang Zheng, then turned and walked with Kurumi into the shadows.

It wasn’t until they had left that Fang Zheng turned back and looked again at the nearby mountain peak—at the same moment, with a thunderous explosion, the snow burst apart, and the blonde Magician reappeared before Fang Zheng.

And facing the Magician, Fang Zheng’s eyes became ice cold.

”Was it you? Dare to bully my Yoshino?”

”Are you the Knight?”

The Magician controlling the CR armor, Allen, stared coldly at Fang Zheng, gripping her weapon once more.

”Seems like you are indeed different from the other Elves. But before I capture that Elf, let’s see what you’re made of.”

”A mere mortal, daring to make such bold claims in my presence? And to lay a hand on Yoshino, no less?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng cracked a grim, menacing smile, and his Pitch Black Greatsword traced an arc along the ground.

Flames rose, flickering high.

”Good. I’ve decided that you are the first on this month’s firewood list!”
