Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 686: Chapter 685: The Situation Is a Bit Bad

”Uh... Little Hei wants a cola, Sister Yoshino wants oolong tea, MASTER wants coffee...”

As she walked, Illya carefully counted on her fingers, recalling the other people’s beverage choices. Meanwhile, Kurumi walked beside her, looking around the surroundings.

”I remember there was a vending machine around here before...”

”Ah! Over there!”

Just then, Illya suddenly exclaimed, pointing at a red vending machine located in an alley not far away. Before Kurumi could say anything else, Illya happily trotted over to the vending machine. And just as Illya reached out to press a button, someone casually walked over to the machine, reaching out their hand... and then the two of them collided.

”Ah, sorry...”

While apologizing, Illya stepped back, and the other person also waved it off.

”Ah, it’s nothing, sorry...”

But neither of them completed their sentences, and the next moment, they both froze where they stood.

The person who appeared in front of Illya was a petite girl dressed in cool coat and shorts, her golden hair sloppily tied into a ponytail, giving her a lively appearance. But the problem wasn’t that; it was the girl’s identity... She was a Servant.

And she belonged to the Red Faction.

Could this be a coincidence?

Illya instinctively took a step back, breaking into a cold sweat. In her current mode as an Assassin, she reasoned that with the Assassin’s ”Breath Concealment,” the other party absolutely shouldn’t have been able to detect her as a Servant. The problem was, even ”Breath Concealment” had its limits, not to mention that Illya wasn’t in her spiritual body form but was physically present. Even if her identity couldn’t be sensed from a certain distance, they had touched each other, and if she hadn’t noticed the other’s identity by now, that would be incredibly foolish.

”Oh ho...”

As expected, the blonde girl looking at Illya revealed a hint of a smile.

”I really didn’t expect to encounter an enemy here. Sorry, little girl, it seems your luck is very bad...”

Oh no!

Illya, who could be considered a battle-hardened Magical Girl, immediately sensed disaster upon hearing these words. She quickly turned her head and shouted at Kurumi, who wasn’t far behind her.

”Sister Kurumi, go find—!”

”Boom!”

Before Illya’s words could finish, a longsword suddenly appeared out of nowhere and slashed down at her with force. Accompanied by the roar, dust engulfed the entire alley. The next moment, Illya leapt out from the cloud of dust, back in her Assassin garb and holding two daggers, vigilantly watching the front.

As the dust settled, the blonde girl who was standing there had transformed into a knight covered head to toe in armor, including her head. She raised her longsword, with a sharp aura tightly locking on to Illya in front of her.

”Hey, Saber! What’s going on? Weren’t we not supposed to start conflicts rashly?”

Just then, a middle-aged man wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses ran over from another side. Seeing the man appear, the knight also snorted.

”Sorry, MASTER, it’s hard to resist when a weak prey appears. I couldn’t help but want to take action.”

”What?”

Hearing Red Saber’s response, the man glanced over and noticed Illya standing in front of Kurumi.

”Is such a small child also a Heroic Spirit?”

”Indeed, and it looks like you’re not a Caster, nor do you look like a Rider. You must be an Assassin, right? Such a pity. Although I don’t know why you’d present yourself in this form, now that you’ve appeared before me, there’s only Death’s Embrace waiting for you! Prepare to die!”

Before she had finished speaking, Illya saw Red Saber suddenly leap towards her, transforming into a streak of red lightning as she charged. At the same time, Illya quickly dodged backward. The whooshing Sword Qi swept past her face, leaving a deep fissure in the ground.

”Come on, if you want to fight, go somewhere without people, really!”

Seeing this scene, the middle-aged man sighed, then ruffled his hair. Though it made sense to distance oneself from the crowd as much as possible at such times, as Saber had said, stumbling upon such an opportunity was too good to pass up. As for the aftermath here... let the World Tree of a Thousand Realms team worry about it!

Thinking of this, the middle-aged man reached into his chest and pulled out a sawed-off shotgun, his cold gaze fixed on the black-haired girl with uneven pigtails standing not far away on the other side. If he wasn’t mistaken, she must be the MASTER.

Though she appeared to be only sixteen or seventeen years old, as a Mage killer, he had seen his share of battles. Such a scene might be somewhat cruel to him, but he had long since grown accustomed to it. The girl, seeing him draw his weapon, also displayed a look of surprise, as if startled, and turned to flee haphazardly towards another direction.

If you have to blame someone, blame yourself for being a MASTER!

Watching the girl turn to flee, the middle-aged man didn’t hesitate for a moment, gripping his weapon tightly as he chased after her. free𝑤ebnovel.com

The wind howled with the sound of swords.

Illya leapt down from the castle wall, landing on the ground as gracefully as a cat. But even before she could stand up, a red sword light, like a wrathful thunder descending from the sky, thrust straight at her.

”Boom!”

”Ahh!!”

Accompanied by a scream, Illya dodged to one side just in time to avoid the strike, but although she evaded the attack, she now found herself trapped in a dead end, with no paths left, only the high walls blocking her escape.

”How unsightly. Is it because you’re an ASSASSIN that you only know how to dodge?”

As this voice sounded, the figure of Red Saber emerged before Illya, blocking her retreat.

”Uh...”

Hearing Red Saber’s mockery, Illya momentarily didn’t know what to say. Although her transformed ASSASSIN form had ”double damage against females,” because of the ”Phantasmal Summoning,” her Heroic Spirit Attribute Level was lower than the original, and given that her opponent was considerably strong, even with the bonus against females, Illya found it difficult to harm her.

If only I had ARCHER... With the [Class Restraint], maybe I could’ve fought her... Damn it, where did Little Hei run off to at a time like this!

While Illya was feeling utterly distressed, Red Saber once again raised the longsword in her hand.

”Prepare to meet your end, little girl!”

With words that sounded like a final Judgment, Red Saber exploded with speed, appearing before Illya and raising her longsword high, slashing down hard towards her.

There’s no other way!

Seeing the flashing sword light before her, Illya grit her teeth, and then, a shining golden light also emerged on her body.

”Clang!”

The longsword swung by Red Saber did not manage to slash into Illya’s delicate and frail body; instead, met with a collision sound, her offensive was forcefully blocked. The ground under their feet caved in from the impact while the surrounding walls started to crack and shatter from the shockwave.

”What’s this?”

Red Saber was visibly shocked by the scene before her, astonished not only because the seemingly weak little girl had blocked her attack, but also because Illya’s attire had completely changed from before. Gone was the tight-fitting black garment she wore, replaced by a black-trimmed, pink-based, light-weight white dress that resembled a suit of armor. Her hair was also bound into a single ponytail with a black ribbon. At the same time, Illya raised both of her hands, and a longsword appeared in them, blocking Red Saber’s attack.

”Hahaha, how interesting! I didn’t expect you little thing to have such strength within you, indeed... Huh?”

But before Red Saber could finish speaking, she stopped abruptly, eyes fixed on the longsword in Illya’s hands that had blocked her attack.

The sword was three feet long, four inches wide, with a silver-white blade and a simple Golden Sword hilt. Carved on the broad blade were lines of Elven inscriptions...

”Why... why is that sword in your hands?”

”Huh?”

Startled by Red Saber’s icy question, Illya looked up, but the next moment, she saw her adversary raise her weapon high, with Sword Qi erupting wildly and spreading around like a tempest. This time, Red Saber was filled with a fearsome rage, as if Illya had committed some unforgivable offense.

”Answer me! Why is that sword in your hands? Who are you!!”

Along with her furious roar, the gleaming sword light again coalesced at that moment, becoming a raging inferno that came crashing down on Illya.
