Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 656: Chapter 655: Everything is the Choice of Steins Gate! (Part 2)

Mr. Fang Zheng’s comment about Yoshino being afraid of crowded places seemed to have an effect, as they didn’t encounter many people along the way. One could even say there were fewer people on the streets than usual.

As for the reason... Judging by the information Mr. Fang Zheng obtained from the infiltrated Ratastok, to attract a crowd, they had specifically organized a major discount event in the shopping district, successfully capturing the attention of the masses who had nothing better to do — Mr. Fang Zheng couldn’t help but marvel at the lengths the organization went to for this date, even going so far as to arrange such an event. They truly were professional wingmen... It seemed this wasn’t their first rodeo.

But honestly, the weather today wasn’t exactly ideal for a date, as the sun began to unleash its power early in the morning. Yoshino and Mr. Fang Zheng, one an elf who controlled coldness and the other a giant dragon, naturally weren’t intimidated by the sun. However, Shido was a different story. Although he had the spiritual power of three elves sealed within him, aside from that, he was essentially a normal human. So, it didn’t take long for Shido to start sweating profusely... It would have been one thing if it were an ordinary day, but right now he was in women’s clothing and had makeup on!

What if his makeup was ruined?

”Um... I’m going to buy something to drink, do you guys need anything?”

Considering this, Shido quickly made a decision, turned his head to ask Yoshino and Mr. Fang Zheng, while the two exchanged a glance.

”Then coffee would be good.”

”I want... soda...”

”Sorry, please wait a moment.”

Having said this, Shido immediately ran towards a convenience store in the distance. He first entered the public restroom inside the convenience store, then quickly pulled out makeup tools from his bag... If he had known it was going to be this hot today, he should have gone for a non-oil-based makeup... Why am I so skilled at this!

Seeing his reflection in the mirror, Shido knelt down once again.

I’m a man, why should I care about moisturizing and oil control for my skin!!

”Sigh...”

After reapplying his makeup, Shido, feeling resigned, walked towards the direction of the train station with three bottles of drinks sighing. But unexpectedly, just then, three delinquents suddenly appeared and blocked his way.

”Hey, this young lady here is quite cute, how about you come play with us?”

The leader, a blonde, looked at Shido with a grin and then reached out his hand.

”Look, it’s so hot today, why don’t we take you to the KTV? It’s air-conditioned there, and it’s a great deal.”

”Please, please let me go...”

Seeing the blonde in front of him, Shido’s face turned sour. He had heard about girls being hit on before, but Shido himself had never been propositioned! Now facing these three tall delinquents, he didn’t know what to do. Speaking of which, what would a typical girl do in this situation?

If it were his sister... Well, she would probably deliver a flying kick right away, knocking them down and maybe even stepping on them while mocking, ”Just the three of you Zagoo trying to hit on me? You’re too green, go reincarnate as a bowling ball!”

However... I can’t do that!!

Clutching the drinks, Shido involuntarily retreated under the pressure of the three thugs. Normally, Ratastok might have come to his support, but right now, everyone from the organization was busy with the big sale at the shopping street, so no one was here to help him!

”I, I’m sorry, I’m meeting someone, I need to go!”

While saying this, Shido tried to break through the trio’s encirclement, but, unexpectedly, before he could break free, the blonde thug placed a hand on his shoulder.

”Hey, miss, don’t be in such a rush. Come on, tell us, who are you meeting? Is it another cute girl...”

”I’m telling you...”

Facing these stubborn delinquents, Shido didn’t know what to do. It was something he had only seen on TV, the internet, and in newspapers, but Shido never imagined that one day he would become the heroine in such a scenario!

Kotori! Save me!!

”Miss Shido?”

Just then, as if Heaven had heard Shido’s cries for help, a voice soon sounded from behind him. Hearing this voice, Shido breathed a sigh of relief, turned his head to look behind him, and saw Mr. Fang Zheng and Yoshino approaching from not far away.

”Mr. Fang Zheng!”

Seeing the man in front of her, Shiki almost cried with joy, while the three thugs frowned. They released Shiki’s shoulders, and she quickly ran behind Fang Zheng, clutching her drink for refuge. Seeing someone interfering, the thugs were quite displeased, especially the blond leader, who snorted coldly and strode up to Fang Zheng.

”Hey, young man... Oops!”

Before he could finish, Shiki saw the three thugs’ expressions suddenly change, as if they had encountered a fierce beast, and they stepped back several steps, then started sweating profusely, trembling. Fang Zheng, on the other hand, watched them and then, with a smile, reached out to take out his phone.

”I’ve already called the police. If you don’t leave now, you might end up in jail... How about that? I don’t think you’d like that.”

”Yes, sorry! We’re leaving right now!”

After saying this, the blond thug hurriedly took his two cronies and turned to flee as if they were flying. Watching their receding figures, Fang Zheng shook his head and then turned to look at Shiki.

”Are you okay, Miss Shiki?”

”I’m fine, thank you...”

Blushing, Shiki looked down and whispered her thanks, while Fang Zheng gave a slight smile.

”You should be careful, Miss Shiki. You’re so pretty and cute, it’s easy for men to be attracted to you, and if you’re not careful, you could be in danger.”

”Pretty and cute...”

Hearing Fang Zheng speak, Shiki felt like crying. If possible, she didn’t want to have anything to do with being pretty and cute. Such words might suit Shika and the others, but it was not a compliment when applied to herself! But... Mr. Fang Zheng was really handsome just now!

Thinking this, Shiki secretly raised her head to steal a glance at Fang Zheng. He had done nothing except give a look, yet that look was enough to scare off the thugs. However, Shiki could only think of running away; recalling a prior incident where, during a date with Shika, they were accosted by thugs, and she almost got beaten up trying to intervene, only for Shika to scare the thugs away...

”Ah...”

Thinking about it, Shiki sighed involuntarily. She hadn’t felt it before, but now with Fang Zheng as a reference, she suddenly realized she might be failing as a man. Her academic performance wasn’t as good as Origami’s, and her combat ability was not as good as Shika’s... Well, her combat ability was even worse than her sister’s. The only thing she excelled at was cooking... Wait a minute, I’m a man, why don’t I have any male strengths?!

”...Idiot brother...”

At this moment, as Shiki sighed, Kotori was also helplessly watching a screen aboard the warship. The screen showed that Shiki’s affection for Fang Zheng had reached a new level, but Fang Zheng still considered Shiki just a normal friend.

”Ah...”

Kotori sighed too. Honestly, by conventional standards, Fang Zheng was the perfect candidate, although reluctantly, Kotori had to admit that her brother dressed up did indeed look beautiful. It wasn’t impossible for ordinary men to be attracted to him. But surprisingly, Fang Zheng was very polite and courteous to Shiki, and according to the data fluctuations, he merely saw Shido Gokawa as a normal friend without any ulterior motives...

On the other hand, it was quite likely that her brother might get wooed by Fang Zheng...

But then again, if her brother had half the abilities of the Elf, she wouldn’t be so troubled!

The thug incident was just a minor interlude for Fang Zheng and Shiki. After that, the three of them arrived at the railway station and took an electric train to the aquarium on the other side of Celestial City. Perhaps due to a big sale, there were more people in the train than usual. Shiki had intended to help, but Fang Zheng and Yoshino seemed even more familiar with the train. As soon as they boarded, Fang Zheng used his body to shield Yoshino in a corner to prevent her from getting hurt. Seeing this, Shiki breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that even if a big sale could attract more people to the streets, it also meant more people using public transport to go to the shopping street!

Next, they just needed to get to the aquarium... Oh?

As Shiki pondered what to do next, suddenly, she felt a chill down her spine, as if a cold air was seeping out of her body, making her shiver involuntarily.

Is it an illusion? Or is someone talking behind my back?

Thinking this, Shiki shook her head, but before she could react further, she gasped.

”Ah?”

Just at that moment, Shiki felt as if someone... had just touched her butt?
