Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 668: Chapter 667: You Are All My Wings

```
Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Kurumi and Yoshino were both stunned. Clearly, they had never heard Fang Zheng mention this before. Therefore, upon hearing Fang Zheng’s mention of leaving, both were inevitably somewhat surprised.
”Leave... this world?”
”That’s right.”
Fang Zheng nodded, then looked at the two of them.
”You should know that I am not from this world. In fact, I come from another world. In that world, I ran into a bit of trouble, so I lost my power. To regain my strength and to find a way back, I have been traveling between various worlds...”
”Then, then I want to go with Mr. Fang Zheng to your world... is that not possible?”
”First, let me finish.”
Seeing Yoshino couldn’t wait to speak, Fang Zheng quickly raised his hand.
”There’s a reason why I say this. In this world, even without Elves, it’s still a very peaceful world. At least, Yoshino, you should be able to live the everyday life you desire. But my world is different. If you follow me, you will face many enemies. In my world, order and chaos are currently at war, and the devils of Hell and the deities of Heaven are also in constant conflict. Although, for the most part, it’s relatively calm now, no one knows when war might break out. By then, it won’t just be minor skirmishes like those between AST and Elves. Instead, it will be a catastrophe sweeping across the entire continent, where tens of thousands could die in a single battle. Corpses will spread across the fields, and blood will flow like rivers...”
”Woo...”
Hearing Fang Zheng’s description, Yoshino’s face turned pale, and even Kurumi raised her eyebrows in surprise.
”But actions speak louder than words, so let’s just show you.”
While speaking, Fang Zheng opened his personal terminal, and soon, a scene of war appeared before them. It was Fang Zheng leading his subordinates in battle against the Chaos Monster army in the Northlands, and considering this was the first battle Heavenly Dao Palace was involved in the Main World, Fang Zheng had recorded it. And now... it just served to give the two Elves a glimpse of reality.
”Wow...”
Seeing the fearsome, distorted shapes of the Demon Creature army and the Holy Knights and girls fighting vigorously against them projected from the terminal, Kurumi’s eyes widened with surprise. As Fang Zheng had said, this world was still very peaceful, and even for Kurumi, the only enemies she faced were AST and Magicians. She had never before witnessed large-scale battles, where thousands charged forward in succession.
”Eek—”
The strange and terrifying appearance of the Chaos Monsters naturally gave Yoshino quite a fright, and given Fang Zheng didn’t care for any censorship committees, the footage naturally included several Chaos Monsters attacking Holy Knights, devouring them or tearing them to pieces. With no censorship, the brutality of war was starkly revealed. Even Kurumi, who usually maintained a carefree smile, put away her ease and stared solemnly at the screen before her, let alone Yoshino, who was inherently kind-hearted and disliked fighting.
”This is the situation in my world.”
Seeing Yoshino shivering in fear, Fang Zheng timely turned off the projection; otherwise, she might have been scarred from the shock.
”Although it’s relatively peaceful in my territory, I have many enemies. Among them, some are very powerful—beyond my ability to defeat alone, or I wouldn’t have lost my power and ended up here. When I return, I will once again engage in battles with my enemies. At that time, my territory might also fall into the flames of war.”
This was why Fang Zheng wanted to make things crystal clear to Yoshino. He had realized that Yoshino was almost a complete pacifist, who disliked fighting very much. Whether in self-defense or in initiating combat, it was something Yoshino found impossible to do. But if she were to return to the Main World, even if Fang Zheng didn’t need Yoshino to have any particularly proactive aggression, she would, at the very least, need the conviction and will to fight in order to protect her own life.
In this regard, Natsuse and Midori were much more resolute than Yoshino in their will to fight since Heavenly Dao Palace was a home they had not come by easily; naturally, they were willing to fight to protect it.
However, this Elf World, if it were without Elves, would be much more peaceful than the Main World where Fang Zheng was from. According to Yoshino’s character, this world was clearly more suitable for her. After all, if Elves didn’t exist, then neither would AST or Magicians; thus, Yoshino would not encounter any danger, nor would she need to fight, and could live the peaceful life she longed for.
That’s why Fang Zheng felt the need to clarify things in advance. After all, he wasn’t a human trafficker—details had to be stated upfront and clearly. Anyway, Yoshino had to understand all this before she made her decision. Once they left this world, there would be no way to return.
”... So, I want you to think it over carefully before you answer. After all, once I take you away from this world, we won’t come back. You will leave here forever, never able to return to this world again.”
Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Kurumi showed no particular reaction, even raising her eyebrows with a hint of anticipation. For Kurumi, aside from revenge, she had nothing left to cling to in this world. Under such circumstances, leaving this world naturally wouldn’t be a bad thing for her.
But for Yoshino... the situation was entirely different.
Indeed, it didn’t take long for Yoshino to frown, her face creasing with worry as she began to ponder. Initially, Yoshino had only thought about staying with Fang Zheng, without giving much thought to anything else. In her view, Fang Zheng was obviously going to protect and take care of her. But now, Fang Zheng was telling her if she continued to stay by his side, she would likely have to face danger and combat...
```

Yoshino did not enjoy fighting; she disliked being harmed and naturally disliked harming others. But while ideals are beautiful, reality is cruel. The footage Fang Zheng had shown earlier laid bare the brutality and horror of war, which for Yoshino was obviously hard to accept.

From this perspective, Fang Zheng’s proposal seemed quite appealing to Yoshino. She would lose her memory and start anew, living the life she longed for as an ordinary human being. She would no longer remember Kurumi, Fang Zheng, or the Elves and fighting. All she would need to do was to live a carefree and peaceful life, just like any other day.

But... should she really do this?

Yoshino clenched her hands tightly, staring at the ground before her. She bit her lip, silent.

Fang Zheng and Kurumi, too, did not speak. This was Yoshino’s own choice; she had to make the decision herself. Neither Fang Zheng nor Kurumi could make the choice for her, after all, this involved leaving this world for a journey to an entirely new one.

As time ticked away, not until the radiance of the setting sun disappeared from the window and night fell, did Yoshino take a deep breath and then lift her head to look at Fang Zheng.

”I... I’ve decided, Mr. Fang Zheng... I want to continue being with Mr. Fang Zheng... I, I also want to go to the new world!”

In response to Yoshino’s answer, Fang Zheng did not seem surprised; he just quietly observed her.

”Once we get back, I might have many matters to deal with, and I may not be able to stay by your side all the time like now.”

”It’s okay... I can endure being alone.”

”What if people you don’t know come to trouble you, or even launch an attack on you?”

”I will try hard... I’ll try hard not to let them succeed!”

”I might also ask for your help in battles; would that be okay too?”

”Umm...”

This time, Yoshino hesitated for a moment, but then she still nodded her head.

”I... I am willing to help Brother Zheng... Although I don’t like fighting... I think that Brother Zheng’s enemies must be bad people... If we don’t stop them, they will definitely cause more people to suffer and feel pain, so...”

This was another true answer... But indeed, it was in line with Yoshino’s way of thinking.

”It seems you have made your decision.”

Hearing Yoshino’s reply, Fang Zheng stood up and then reached out his hand. Soon, a dazzling radiance appeared from Fang Zheng’s hand, and then this light gradually solidified, forming two transparent, pentagonal crystals that resembled Soulstones.

”What is this...?”

”These are Soulstones... If you’re willing, then reach out and grasp them. By doing so, all of you, even your souls, will belong to me, and we will be together forever, never to part.”

”Ah...”

Upon hearing this, Yoshino’s eyes suddenly sparkled with light, then she stood up, walked up to Fang Zheng, and carefully examined the Soulstone before her. She then cast a glance at Kurumi by her side.

”What about Sister Kurumi?”

”... I have no other choice, do I? And besides, I’m very interested in this new world you speak of, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

Faced with Yoshino’s question, Kurumi replied with a smile, and the two exchanged glances before extending their hands to grasp the floating Soulstones in front of them. ƒrēeNovelFire.com

At the same time, in Fang Zheng’s ear, the familiar system prompt sounded once again.
