Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 661: Chapter 660: In front of me, you are powerless

How unlucky!!

Jessica furrowed her brows, glaring unhappily at the staff in front of her. As the ace magician of DEM, her task was to ensure ”Material A” was safely transported from this place to its next destination. She had heard that the murderer ”Nightmare” was actively searching for traces of the Second Elf, and it was for this reason that DEM had dispatched her, ranked third among DEM’s magicians, to lead the defense against the Second Elf.

However, for Jessica, this clearly wasn’t enough.

Although being ranked third in DEM was already considered quite high, Jessica believed she could rank even higher. Even if she could not surpass Allen, the strongest magician in the world, she definitely should be stronger than Mana Suginomiya, that little punk who hadn’t even matured properly yet.

But the reality was that this middle schooler, who appeared younger than her, had pressed down on her with a second-place rank. Despite previously failing in the battle to capture ”Hermit” and ”Knight,” headquarters had not decreased their evaluation of her. She had heard that the girl was currently chasing ”Nightmare” all over the world, while she could only stay here, doing work that only movers would do.

How utterly absurd!

Thinking of this, Jessica clenched her teeth again. She wanted to go to Japan with Allen too, where they were expected to carry out a secret mission. But the reality was that they had not chosen her.

These bothersome matters had already been enough to give Jessica a headache. If everything went smoothly with transporting ”Material A,” there wouldn’t have been any problem. But what she hadn’t anticipated was that, right before they were about to leave with ”Material A,” a sudden blizzard had forced them to change their plans... How absolutely terrible!

”When will this blizzard stop! Why wasn’t there any weather forecast reported before?”

”Sorry, sorry...”

Hearing Jessica’s roar, the staff also spoke up, trembling.

”I don’t know what’s happening either. According to the cloud charts from the weather satellites, it should have been clear skies for these two days. It shouldn’t be snowing at all...”

”What worthless junk! Immediately move ’Material A’ back into the Great Hollow for resealing! If anything happens, I will...”

But before Jessica could finish her sentence, suddenly, everything in front of her turned pitch black.

”What happened?”

”What’s going on?”

Faced with this sudden darkness, everyone else was also taken aback. Soon, the light from flashlights shone, illuminating the warehouse once again.

”What’s going on?! Power outage? Why hasn’t the backup energy turned on?”

”The backup energy has been cut off too!”

”Immediately contact the others!”

”It’s no use, the communication has been cut off!”

In that moment, there was chaos all around. For the staff here, it was the first time encountering such a situation. The entire base was equipped with two sets of backup power sources and one set of emergency reserves, a total of three layers of security. Logically speaking, even if the primary power system malfunctioned, the remaining two backup systems should still operate, and if those failed, the emergency power system should still provide the most basic energy supply.

But now, all the energy connections were cut off? That was simply impossible!

”Heeheeheeheeheehee...”

Just as everyone was in a state of panic, suddenly, a series of cold laughter echoed from all directions, and hearing this laughter, the staff and magicians quickly raised their flashlights and mobile phones, illuminating the surroundings. Then, they saw a girl in a red and black Lolita dress with one long and one short ponytail, holding an ancient firearm, walking out from a shadow on the wall nearby.

”That’s... Nightmare!!”

When Jessica saw the girl appear before her, she was shocked and hurriedly activated the CR manifestation device on her body.

”All magicians, listen up, get dressed, prepare for battle!”

”Duh...”

Just as Jessica picked up her weapon, intending to fight, suddenly a sound of footsteps arose, following which she saw the nightmare beside her turn, and then, a figure appeared from behind the nightmare.

This was a tall man clad in knight armor, wielding dual swords, striding out from the shadows and looking toward Jessica. Although the wide brims of his triangular hat mostly covered his face, Jessica still instinctively felt his dominantly oppressive gaze.

”... Kni, Knight...”

Grinding her teeth, Jessica gripped her weapon tightly; she had never felt so powerless before. In previous battles, even if she couldn’t kill the elves, she managed to exchange blows with them. Even against the notorious nightmare, she believed she could fight it.

However, Jessica had never thought that one day, in front of an elf, she would dare not even move!

The figure did not make any aggressive moves, but simply carried his weapon and walked forward slowly. Even so, Jessica and the leading magicians felt as if they were facing a formidable enemy; they were sweating profusely, eyes widened, staring fixedly at the knight before them. According to their training and style, they should launch an attack to stop the advance of these two elves.

But... they couldn’t.

An invisible, yet immensely strong pressure felt like tangible chains binding their bodies tightly so that Jessica even felt as if she had been petrified. Her heart was beating faster, and even her breathing became rapid. Her legs turned weak, involuntarily beginning to tremble...

But Fang Zheng merely glanced at them and walked straight towards the back, into a warehouse, and Jessica immediately understood their intentions.

Damn, these two are here for the Second Elf!

How could they possibly know the Second Elf is here?!

”This is it.”

Fang Zheng raised his head, looking at the ”Material A” before him, a container that seemed very securely sealed, looking more like a storage for some substance than a place to imprison someone...

”Clang!”

But just at that moment, suddenly, the container before Fang Zheng shook slightly, and beside him, Kurumi also raised her eyebrows slightly.

”This is...”

”I felt it too.”

Heeding Kurumi’s whisper, Fang Zheng nodded. Just now, when the container shook, Fang Zheng had already felt a slight influx of spiritual power emanating from within. Though weak, it was definitely the fluctuation of spiritual power from an elf!

”Let me do it, Kurumi.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng raised the pitch-black greatsword in his hand.

”Get ready, let’s see what’s actually inside here!”

Accompanied by Fang Zheng’s voice, a shining blade light swept across, completely splitting the container before them.
