Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

”Aunt Meng, I know Changjun’s dad is Director Kong, you were together first.”

Upon hearing her words, Meng Xiu Fen felt relieved.

”Alright, keep an eye on Changjun, I’m going to work.”

Meng Xiu Fen arrived at the Women’s Federation, with no work for today, she sat in her spot thoughtfully analyzing the matter, thinking this outcome is the best.

Kong Demin arrived late today, he was late for the meeting, and apologized to everyone with a smile.

After the meeting, he returned to his office, today the Director went to the meeting, deliberately not letting him go, he needed to find a way, he had to endure until he became official.

Wang Dajiang came in at this time. ”Dajiang, let’s go out for a bit.”

The two went back to the former home of Gan Jiancheng. Kong Demin bought two bottles of alcohol and two pounds of rice candy from the supply and sales cooperative halfway.

”There’s nothing much today, let’s drink.”

As both of them got a bit tipsy, Wang Dajiang’s tongue started to slur, ”Director Kong, you’re so good to me.”

”Dajiang, this is all I can do for you; I don’t have big abilities.”

”Director Kong, you need to find a way to become official.”

”It’s not that easy. As long as the person above doesn’t make a mistake, I can’t move up.”

”Yeah, what can we do about it?”

Kong Demin inwardly thought Wang Dajiang was really dumb, ”Dajiang, if I can truly become official, I’ll definitely promote you.” He gave him a strong dose.

”Director Kong, I’m dumb, you just command me directly if there’s anything you need.”

”Dajiang, I don’t have any way, but here’s the deal: find someone outside to monitor our boss, we can only wait for a chance.”

”Director Kong, rest assured, I can definitely handle this matter well.”

The two returned to the Revolutionary Committee to continue work. At noon, Feng Dequan and Shi Yubei came back. They also went to the cafeteria to eat.

The entire afternoon, Kong Demin went out on duty with the others, not wanting to stay in the office, but Wang Dajiang remained.

Shi Yubei and Feng Dequan sat in the office, ”That Kong Demin is so annoying, I want to gouge his eyes out.”

”Alright, calm down, it’s not time to deal with him yet, bear with it.”

”So disgusting.”

Feng Dequan said nothing more, he still had a lot of work to do.

Wei Kaiyun was methodically busy with work. Ever since his wife reminded him, he had been stricter with quality checks, cautious without major errors.

Ding Mingqiang was extremely busy, with the family building under construction, and various matters daily, Wei Kaiyun delegated everything to him.

His wife Liang Chunyan watched her husband come home exhausted and instantly fall asleep, feeling puzzled, ”You’re the Deputy Director, why are you still so tired?”

”Wei Kaiyun has let go, it’s like a position shift for us now.”

”Wei Kaiyun really is carefree.”

”I think Wei Kaiyun doesn’t seem to care much about the position, never mind, let’s accept it, Wei Kaiyun is a very good partner.”

On the tenth of the last month, Wei Kaiyun received a call and went to the Management Bureau.

”Xiao Wei, how much is left in the warehouse?”

”It will be finished by the fifteenth of this month.”

”Not bad, they called specifically to praise you. After completing the task, you have another smaller task, produce ten more cars, deliver directly to the garment factory, they’ll make quilts to send over.”

”Sure, I’ll ensure the task is completed, but I’ll need to discuss with the garment factory.”

”Alright, just arrange it as you see fit.”

Wei Kaiyun used Director Zhu’s phone to call Old Ding.

”Old Ding, it’s Wei Kaiyun, we have a chance for cooperation this time.”

”I just received the notice too, called your secretary, she said you went to the Bureau.”

”Yes, I’m still at the Management Bureau, when should we meet?”

”How about tonight? I’ll treat you to a meal.”

”Why don’t you come to the Management Bureau? I’ll treat you to lunch here.”

”Alright, I’ll meet you there.”

Ding Xiangxing arrived quickly, and the two directly discussed in the small meeting room.

At noon, Zhu Peishan treated the two to lunch.

Wei Kaiyun returned to the textile factory in the afternoon for another meeting with workshop directors and above.

After the meeting, Ding Mingqiang stayed behind, ”Director Wei, how are we calculating the year’s end bonus?”

”A month’s salary for each person, and welfare will still be distributed.”

”But the funds have not been allocated from above.”

”This won’t be a burden for us; even if it’s not given, it will be deducted from taxes. Things should proceed as planned, the workers are very proactive, it’s unreasonable not to have rewards.”

”Got it, I’ll notify the finance department to arrange.”

”Alright, make sure the welfare isn’t too poor.”

Ding Mingqiang nodded and left.

By this time, Jiang Xinyu was already on holiday, taking the kids to the market, the supply and sales cooperative, the building, basically places with lots of people.

The two kids were always stuck at home, with this opportunity to see more people, they were very happy.

Jiang Xinyu bought a lot of dried chili peppers and Sichuan peppers, she divided them at home and sent them to She Xiaoyun, asking her to distribute them to the group.

She also purposely took the two kids to eat outside, they found it very novel, so they ate out once a day.

Shi Jing was nearly two years and four months old, and Jiang Feifei was almost a year and four months. Since they ate well, with uninterrupted formula milk, the two kids looked different from others, white and chubby, adorably tender, attracting attention from everyone who saw them, eager to play with them.

The two kids were very charming, with uncles, aunts, sisters, grandmothers all engaging with them.

Jiang Xinyu felt the two kids brought her pride. This period allowed her to meet more people than the previous two years.

Until the occurrence of New Year’s Eve, Niang San stayed home, not venturing out.

The little girl now joined Master Shang every morning along with her brother to exercise; Jiang Xinyu started to worry about this, but Master Shang never asked Feifei to do any moves, she was just hanging around.

”Master Shang, can Feifei learn martial arts in the future?”

”She can.”

”I think if a girl can learn martial arts, she won’t be bullied in the future.”

”Yes, I’ll teach Feifei as I taught Shi Jing.”

Jiang Xinyu collected Niang San’s group photo from the photo studio, which was to be sent to Wei Kaiyun as he strongly requested in his letter.

Looking at the smiles in the photo, Jiang Xinyu thought the photographer was quite skilled at capturing moments.

Shi Jing was already able to write his name, so while writing the letter, Shi Jing included his name.

Every time Jiang Xinyu sent a letter to Wei Kaiyun, she used registered mail, even though it cost more, it was safer, ensuring it reached Wei Kaiyun directly. Avoiding the loss of photos, which would be regrettable.
