Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Meng Xiu Fen returned to the room, lay beside her son, and looked at the child who bore a six-point resemblance to Kong Demin. Meng Xiu Fen’s tears just wouldn’t stop.

She knew she was getting older, but for Kong Demin to treat her this way, betraying her even after she gave him a son, was truly unacceptable. At this moment, she thought of her man. He wasn’t a good person, but he was good to her. Yet he was gone, and she had betrayed him.

Meng Xiu Fen cried uncontrollably. Was this the price for betraying him?

After all, she was a mature woman, always working outside, and had encountered countless strange things at the Women’s Federation. She knew how to take care of herself. Now that this had happened, she could only accept it and be more cautious in the future.

Even though she rationally knew what she should do, her heart still ached with every thought. She truly loved this young man, but now it felt like a blazing fire had suddenly been doused with water.

After Kong Demin finished, his chest heaving violently, his hands didn’t remain idle.

”Second Brother Kong, when will you marry me?”

”It’ll be a few more years. Things are unstable now, but once I get everything in my hands, I’ll marry you and let you live a life of luxury.”

”I want to go home to have a look.”

”Go back for what? To meet someone special? I’m telling you, stay away from Wang Dajiang. If I find out you’re messing around behind my back, you’ll know my temper.”

Zheng Xiuxiang felt the pain from his grip, ”Second Brother Kong, I wouldn’t dare, really. I only have eyes for you now. How can my cousin compare to you?”

”You’d better behave yourself. If you become impure, even if I deal with you, I won’t want you anymore.” Kong Demin suddenly thought about how to get rid of this woman in the future.

The next morning, Kong Demin saw Meng Xiu Fen with swollen eyes and sat down to eat. ”You found out?”

Meng Xiu Fen’s heart was bleeding, but she gave him no response. Zheng Xiuxiang nearby was so frightened that her face was bloodless.

The dining table was silent, with only the sounds of chewing and swallowing.

”Dad, are you taking me to school today or is Sister Xiao Xiang going?”

”Let your Sister Xiao Xiang take you.”

Zheng Xiuxiang stood up hastily, truly afraid of the situation.

Yu Jing happily went into the room to grab her backpack, and the two of them left together.

Only the three of them were left in the house. Kong Demin put down his chopsticks. ”Don’t be sad. I just find her young. How can she compare to you? I’m going to spend my whole life with you. I’ll give her some money to get married in a few years.”

Meng Xiu Fen still said nothing. She half-believed, half-doubted Kong Demin’s words. In a few more years, she’d be even older and less attractive. How could she possibly keep him?

She always knew they wouldn’t last long, but still fantasized about having a few more years to herself.

But reality was this cruel, leaving her disappointed.

Seeing Meng Xiu Fen continuing to eat with her head down, Kong Demin felt a little irked but remained patient. ”Xiu Fen, don’t be angry. If you really can’t accept it, let her leave. My son and I can’t be without you.”

When Kong Demin mentioned her son, Meng Xiu Fen’s heart stirred. Yes, there was still the child. She was getting old, and her son’s future would depend on Kong Demin. She couldn’t just throw a tantrum.

If she really chased Zheng Xiuxiang away, there were also Wang Xiuxiang and Li Xiuxiang. Zheng Xiuxiang was honestly quite obedient and easy to handle.

He’s already done it once, and he definitely won’t change; there will certainly be a second, third one, and so on.

Since that’s the case, she might as well keep that girl. She’s pretty, has a good figure, and is obedient and dutiful. That way, she can keep Kong Demin from messing around outside.

Meng Xiu Fen figured it out and looked up, tears in her eyes, at Kong Demin. ”You’re despising me, aren’t you?”

Kong Demin reached over and hugged her, ”How could I? We’re the ones who are supposed to be together for life. You have to trust me on this.”

”Deming, you really like that girl, Xiao Xiang, don’t you?”

”She’s okay, young and pretty.”

Meng Xiu Fen gave a wry smile, ”Then let her stay. If you want to marry her, that’s fine too. She knows about our situation, right? Even if you do marry her in the future, don’t abandon me.”

Meng Xiu Fen decided to advance by retreating, which would be beneficial for her. If she didn’t speak up now, she’d have no way to refuse in the future when he was going to marry and start a family. Marrying that girl wouldn’t be impossible. She knew their relationship, so in the future, she wouldn’t be completely alone.

If he married a woman from outside, it was possible she wouldn’t tolerate it. She’d end up with nothing then.

”Haha, don’t be jealous. How could I marry a woman who’s no good? Don’t overthink it. Just let her take good care of you from now on.”

Listening to Kong Demin, Meng Xiu Fen felt a bit scared. He must have a target in mind, for sure. No way, she had to think of a way to make him marry Xiao Xiang.

The two of them each harbored their own thoughts. After a while, Zheng Xiuxiang returned, apprehensive.

Meng Xiu Fen wiped her tears, ”Xiao Xiang, come in, I have something to say to you.”

Frightened, Zheng Xiuxiang’s face was colorless. She looked at Meng Xiu Fen in panic and then turned to Kong Demin for help.

Kong Demin just laughed on the side without saying a word.

”Xiao Xiang, don’t be afraid. I won’t do anything to you. You can stay here from now on. Treat this place as your home.”

Hearing Meng Xiu Fen’s words, Zheng Xiuxiang burst into tears, ”Aunt Meng, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I was wrong.”

”It’s okay, it’s okay. From now on, we’ll all live together as a family.”

Zheng Xiuxiang expressed her gratitude profusely. She was originally a girl with not much education, always doing housework at home, with little contact with the outside world. Meng Xiu Fen’s attitude made all her guilt surface.

”Alright, you two stop crying. From now on, the three of us will live a good life. I’ll spend time with one of you every day.” Kong Demin finished speaking and laughed heartily, then said goodbye and left for work.

At this time, Changjun woke up in the room. Zheng Xiuxiang instinctively ran into the room to take care of the child.

Meng Xiu Fen saw this and felt even more satisfied. Just like this, as long as she didn’t overreach, they could get along very well.

She went into the room too, and the child was already dressed in cotton clothes. When he saw his mother come in, he smiled at her.

”Xiao Xiang, treat Changjun and Yu Jing well, and I will never mistreat you. Once Changjun can walk, you can also have a child.”

”Aunt Meng?”

”Having a child will give you peace of mind. Don’t tell Deming just yet. Inform him when you have one. By the way, you’re not already pregnant, are you?”

”Aunt Meng, my period was just a few days ago.”

”Alright, it’s okay. If you have one, just give birth. Then you two can get married. As long as you’re not against us being together, I’ll help you think of a way. So you can marry him.”
