Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Zheng Xiuxiang hurriedly ran back into the house. Before Meng Xiu Fen left, she specifically asked Zheng Xiuxiang to sleep in her room, worried that the guest room might inconvenience her son.

Kong Demin, covered in sweat and feeling uncomfortable, went straight to the bathroom. After cleaning himself up, he instinctively headed to Meng Xiu Fen’s room.

In truth, Zheng Xiuxiang knew about their relationship. It really terrified her at the time. One night, she got up to use the bathroom and heard noises from Meng Xiu Fen’s room. Driven by curiosity, she walked to the window and nearly screamed when she heard the sounds inside.

They were mother-in-law and son-in-law! But how could they be together? It was horrifying.

The next night, she deliberately waited until after ten o’clock to come out. They were still together, and every morning, Director Kong would come out of Aunt Meng’s room.

She was already an eighteen-year-old girl; how could she not understand what was going on?

Kong Demin entered the room shirtless and saw the child was already asleep.

”Director Kong, I’m going back to my room.”

”I asked you to watch the child; why are you going back?”

Kong Demin didn’t shy away at all; he simply opened the wardrobe, rummaged for his clothes, and directly put them on. He then lay straight down on the kang.

Zheng Xiuxiang was terrified. ”Director Kong, how about I take Changjun back to my room.”

Kong Demin said nothing but stared at the young girl under the oil lamp.

So beautiful, almost as good as Xinyu.

Suddenly, he sat up and grabbed Zheng Xiuxiang, who was about to pick up the child.

”You come to see me every night. How about it? Any thoughts?”

”Director Kong, Director Kong, I don’t. I’ll never dare again, I swear.” Zheng Xiuxiang explained frantically.

”Too late. I’ve let you watch for so long; now it’s my turn.”

Zheng Xiuxiang struggled desperately. At this moment, the child woke up and started crying loudly.

Kong Demin, irritated, glanced at the crying child, got off the bed, and dragged Zheng Xiuxiang under his arm to the next room, leaving the child to cry.

Zheng Xiuxiang was terrified. ”Director Kong, Director Kong, please let me go.” She thought when the child woke up, she’d manage to get through, but this person didn’t care about the child.

Seeing Zheng Xiuxiang struggle intensely, Kong Demin’s anger flared.

He pinned her down with one hand pressing her arms and didn’t stop.

Zheng Xiuxiang felt she was about to die; it hurt so much. Her struggle ceased; it was all over.

When Kong Demin saw she had stopped struggling, he slowly got up and started undressing them both.

”You don’t have to be this way; you won’t regret sticking with me.”

Zheng Xiuxiang silently cried. Even as her clothes were taken off, she did not resist or struggle.

Kong Demin was satisfied now, not pausing the whole night. Even when the child cried again, he didn’t release the woman beneath him.

The next day, Zheng Xiuxiang was awakened by the child’s cries. Looking at herself lying on the bed, the man beside her still sleeping.

The child’s cries had changed tone. She had no choice but to get up with difficulty. She dressed and stumbled to the next room.

She hurriedly changed the child’s clothes, tidied up, and fed him.

Once she had fed the child, she washed the diaper.

While washing and shedding tears, truly feeling done for; what would she do now? Who would want her anymore?

After washing, she fetched water and went to the bathroom.

Seeing the marks on her body and the blood on her thighs, Zheng Xiuchun cried again, afraid to make too much noise.

Her legs felt like they weren’t hers, the pain intense.

Slowly she moved to lie beside the child. Though extremely exhausted, she couldn’t sleep, her heart filled with fear.

Kong Demin was woken up by hunger. Having not paused the entire night was indeed physically taxing.

He got up and saw the child’s diaper drying outside, grinning smugly.

He entered the room and saw the girl lying there, shedding tears.

”Alright, stop crying, I’ll go buy us some food.”

Zheng Xiuchun remained silent, still crying, her expression making Kong Demin lean in closer, startling her.

”If you cry again, I won’t go out, won’t eat, and we’ll continue.”

This frightened Zheng Xiuxiang. Her tears stopped, looking at Kong Demin fearfully.

He grinned triumphantly and went out to buy lunch.

This time, Kong Demin bought two portions of braised pork, ten steamed buns, and cabbage stewed with tofu.

”Eat quickly, eat more meat.”

Zheng Xiuxiang lowered her head, eating in small bites, saying nothing, but her eyes were swollen from crying.

Kong Demin didn’t engage, simply eating by himself. He had to pick up the old woman tomorrow night, so couldn’t waste these two days.

After the meal, the child woke up; he wasn’t so young anymore, no longer lying around all day. Now he loved being pushed outside, especially lying on the stroller.

Zheng Xiuxiang pushed the child around the yard.

Kong Demin lay on the bed, watching the girl in the yard through the glass window, feeling restless soon stepping onto the floor to put on his shoes.

The child was actually asleep, but Zheng Xiuchun simply didn’t want to go inside.

Kong Demin came out, glanced at the sleeping child in the stroller, and carried Zheng Xiuchun inside, leaving the child to lay in the yard.

”Let me go.”

”Haha, why don’t you raise your voice.”

”Move the child inside, or he’ll get sick.”

”Alright, I’ll do it.” Kong Demin moved the stroller inside, then took Zheng Xiuxiang next door.

Afterward, ”Just stick with me, I won’t treat you badly.”

”You can marry me?”

Kong Demin was taken aback; he intended to marry the capable, smart Jiang Xinyu, not this woman with nothing going for her.

”You want to marry me?”

”You’ve had me; why can’t you marry me?”

”It’s not impossible, but for the next few years, it’s not feasible. You can rest assured to follow me.”

”How do I follow you? When this child grows up, won’t I return to the village? Won’t I need to marry someone? I’m like this already; how can I marry anyone?”

”Then stay with me. Don’t worry, I’ll ensure you always stay.”

Zheng Xiuchun said nothing more; if he could truly marry her, it would be good, given that she belonged to him now.

The two slept together, the child fussing. Zheng Xiuchun groggily attended to him, supper also had meat with cabbage, accompanied by pancakes.

After the meal, Kong Demin spoke, ”You pack up the child’s things; I’ll take them to my sister and fetch him tomorrow.”

The child being so close was indeed a hassle. He would take him to Kong Mengjie for her to watch for a day.

Zheng Xiuxiang followed Kong Demin’s words without question. It took her less than ten minutes to pack all the child’s items.

”Alright. You wait at home, I’ll send the child to them.”
