Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 549: Chapter 5, Verse 49 Dedicated to Education

Mingtu Saiqiute dead without Healing? Ailena devastated?

Gazing at the Elf Chronicles where the era of Mingtu Saiqiute ended, Yang Yu fell into deep thought.

Elves are a race that possess the power of Holy Light, yet in the end, they could not save their queen, only prolonging her life briefly.

In many games, demons are the adversaries of heavenly gods.

Mingtu Saiqiute, having fought with demons, sustained serious injuries that could not be healed. Could it be that demons possess something that could completely suppress the power of the Holy Light?

There is little information about the death of Mingtu Saiqiute, and Yang Yu couldn’t confirm the situation at that time.

As a Queen Candidate, Ailena should know some details, but the fact that she knew she was powerless to save the queen and consequently collapsed suggests that recalling her painful past was not a positive experience.

If there was something promising, or someone who could stand on equal footing with Ailena, perhaps it could be tried.

For now, he had to let it go.

Continuing to read, Yang Yu learned that six months after Ailena’s breakdown, she seemed to recover from her collapse and succeeded in becoming the queen.

What happened during that time intrigued Yang Yu as well.

Taking out a notebook, Yang Yu recorded the questions in his mind.

Yang Yu and Bai Jin had agreed to contact each other once a week to check on each other’s situations; he would wait for Bai Jin’s regular contact to pass on these questions for investigation.

Yang Yu couldn’t use a crystal ball and could only passively receive contacts from Bai Jin.

However, as his level increased, so did his intelligence. Perhaps, he thought, he might learn how to use a crystal ball to make contacts himself, making it easier to reach out to people in the future.

Of course, if Fuer Maling could make a Magic Phone, it would save the cost of learning how to use a crystal ball.

After briefly scanning the Elf Chronicles again to ensure no details were missed, Yang Yu closed the book, covered himself with the blanket, and fell into a peaceful sleep, waiting for the next day to arrive.

As time gradually passed, while Yang Yu and his companions sought out demons to fight and strove to raise their own level, Iyas and Bai Jin were also not idle.

Iyas, unabashedly seeking knowledge everywhere, finally managed to slip into the more central areas of Luoyu City and entered the Holy Light class.

Among the Elf Clan, there are two major professional branches.

One is to receive training as an archer, becoming a qualified bowman responsible for hunting and protecting the homeland; the other is to receive Holy Light education to become a priest, known among the elves as Holy Light Messengers, who are responsible for healing and praying, with the opportunity to become priests.

Not all elves could become Holy Light Messengers; they only chose those elves most blessed by the goddess.

In elf culture, Holy Light is the power bestowed by the goddess to dispel disease and pain, sacred and immaculate, primarily used for defense and counterattacks and not for hunting.

But how many battles do elves really need to fight?

Even if they really had to battle, archers were sufficient for both attack and defense, and in normal times, archers could also hunt, hence many elves often chose archers, the more practically useful option between archers and priests.

Only those elves whose physical condition was substandard would unhesitatingly choose to become Holy Light Messengers, it seemed to have become a common understanding.

Having traveled in the outside world and hearing so much from Yang Yu, Iyas had long since changed her view of the priest profession.

When she reveled her Holy Light, the Elf Priest who opened the school opened his mouth in amazement, for Iyas possessed the Holy Light of the same quality as the Elf Queen.

In Luoyu City, one could count on one hand the number of people with such a gift; unexpectedly, among the dispersed elves, there was also an elf with this kind of talent.

The Elf Priests gladly welcomed Iyas into the school, ready to carefully teach her, but the next second, they all cried.

Facing several Elf Priests, Iyas, following the priests’ instructions, used ”Intermediate Healing,” and as a result, all the priests at the school were tortured by Iyas’s Holy Light to the point of death and back.

Iyas’s handling of the Holy Light was too clumsy, understanding it only partially; it was totally a blasphemy against the goddess who had bestowed such powerful Holy Light onto her.

Fortunately, Iyas sincerely admitted her mistake and was willing to learn with an open mind; with a good attitude, the priests were still willing to lead her onto the correct path.

The first lesson the priests taught Iyas was about the principle of Holy Light manifesting in different forms to achieve different purposes.

”You must remember, this thing, Holy Light, when dispersed, can become a lamp, illuminating the darkness around comrades, and when concentrated, it can become a sharp blade that pierces through darkness.

Your healing skill, how should I put it....

Though it achieves a healing effect, essentially, it cuts open the skin with condensed Holy Light, then injects Holy Light to forcibly heal.

To put it metaphorically, it’s like you wrapped us in a blanket made entirely of razor blades, causing us so much pain that we cried out in misery, feeling life-leeching, then afterwards, you sprinkled us with herbal medicine used for healing.

It’s just that your herbal medicine works too well, covering up the before-mentioned harms, which makes it seem all right.

We will teach you how to disperse Holy Light, to help you learn the true healing skill.”

With these teachers, Iyas learned exceptionally hard.

Several days later.

The Elf Priests who opened the school would dodge whenever they saw Iyas.

For the sake of successfully guiding Iyas, these priests kept testing her progress with their own bodies.

After some time, whether there is progress or not, the priests knew only one thing: they never wanted Iyas to use Holy Light to heal them again.

At last, one priest thought of a solution.

He made a small mud ball about the size of a palm for Iyas, letting her hold the ball and try to use the Healing Skill.

When Iyas practiced on the mud ball, she realized the severity of the problem; the ball covered in Holy Light showed dense pinpricks, proof of Iyas’s Holy Light remaining concentrated and still possessing offensive capabilities.

The mud ball penetrated by Iyas’s Holy Light, lacking life, could not heal itself, leading to the preservation of those fine marks.

However, the priest’s Holy Light was like a mist, gently lifting the ball up and softly permeating into it; the ball experienced no changes and remained smooth as before.

Generally speaking, beginners first learn to ”vaporize” Holy Light, dispersing it throughout the subject’s body, while Iyas had instead learned to concentrate Holy Light for attacking first.

Iyas’s ”Holy Punishment” underwent such changes because the ”Holy Punishment” skill involved an attacking method of vaporization followed by concentration.

Unable to vaporize Holy Light, ”Holy Punishment” was naturally a mess.
