Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 532: Chapter 532: Handling Affairs Afterwards

In another part of the forest, the battle between Yang Yu and the Curse Sect had finally come to an end.

Realizing that things were not going well, Kenro attempted to teleport away using his Contracted Spiritual Body while Tu Jing was applying the Demon Spirit Robe to himself. However, Yang Yu caught him off guard and interrupted his skill.

Left with no other choice, Kenro was forced to stay and have his precious Contracted Spiritual Body, along with Tu Jing who had become one of the living dead, launch another attack on Yang Yu.

If he had an abundance of Spiritual Bodies at his disposal, Kenro could have exhibited even more powerful skills, but alas, he had already used them to ensure Tu Jing’s safety.

He had thought that Bai Jin’s magic was of similar intensity to the one that had previously attacked him, but it took all of Kenro’s tricks just to withstand Bai Jin’s spell.

This was also a way of repaying Tu Jing for saving him with a skill earlier, but this act of gratitude turned out to be costly.

Without the protection of the Spiritual Body, Kenro lost his formidable attack and defense capabilities. The more Spiritual Bodies the priests lost, the more effortlessly Yang Yu fought.

Tu Jing tried to unleash the full force of his Demon Power, but was suppressed by Iyas.

In the end, Bai Jin used ”Frost Nova” again to finish the cleanup.

After confirming through the system panel that both Tu Jing and Kenro were indeed dead, Yang Yu began searching the area for any loot amidst the snowstorm.

Despite searching high and low, aside from a few Curse Sect doctrines and some Rare Quality weapons, he couldn’t find anything else useful.

”Tch, to think that the main bishop of the Curse Sect had so many priests with him, and yet there’s nothing valuable. They are as poor as church mice. We even used so many precious tools.”

Dissatisfaction clear on his face, Yang Yu looked back at Bai Jin and Iyas who were still on guard.

Iyas was paranoid, her bowstring shimmering with a golden arrow, ready for battle at any moment.

Even now, she couldn’t quite believe that the battle was over just like that.

”Is it really over? Aren’t they going to turn into ghosts and launch a surprise attack?”

”Without a Spirit Manipulator, Spiritual Bodies usually can’t hurt people.

It was thanks to having tools that enhance the power of magic that we won so easily.

If we didn’t have the Fairy’s Magic Stone, and instead of Curse Sect members, we’d encountered a group of priests from the Goddess Sect...

Without exaggeration, if just a dozen of them showed up with their Priest’s Staffs, they could have beaten us to death.”

Yang Yu spoke the truth; without damage output, they could be endlessly annoyed by the opponent’s Healing, and Bai Jin casting ”Healing Forbidden” might not have made any difference.

As everyone knows, healers are too strong, and that’s why they choose to be supports.

Winning the fight was a breeze, and the Fairy’s Magic Stone was indispensable.

From the recent usage, the Fairy’s Magic Stone has increased the power of magic by at least three-fold, and in some cases, up to five-fold.

It pained Yang Yu to have to use such powerful tools.

These Magic Stones might become one of the key means to defeat the Demon King.

If it weren’t for the uncertainty about how many members the Curse Sect had sent, or what their capabilities were, and the desire to rapidly reduce the enemy’s blood volume and catch them off guard at the start of the encounter, Yang Yu wouldn’t have resorted to using the Fairy’s Magic Stone.

”Looking ahead, I don’t know what kinds of challenges we’ll face; more use today means we have to be more sparing in the future...”

For some reason, as this thought came to Yang Yu’s mind, he shivered. He remembered feeling the same way when he first got the resurrection medicine and then...

He got the uneasy feeling that he had, perhaps, set a formidable flag.

Shaking his head, Yang Yu turned to Bai Jin, ”This time was special, with the enemy deploying the three-pronged offense of humans, the living dead, and ghosts. We had to use a fair amount of Fairy’s Magic Stones to avoid being entangled with them.

Bai Jin, you’ve seen the power of this thing.

Next, we’re off to complete your ’Destroy’ task. It’s certain there will be more people from the Curse Sect coming after us, wanting to take back what you have in your possession.”

”Each time should be stronger than the last. You need to learn how to judge the situation and use this tool at the right time,”

Bai Jin raised her hand and looked at the Fairy’s Magic Stone in her palm. She nodded and said,

”Ultimately, this relies on external power. A battle that solely depends on tools is not sustainable.

One day I will have magic that is no less powerful than what I’ve just experienced.

So, with that said... with that said...

Please, look forward to it.”

Looking at the determined Bai Jin, Yang Yu smiled, ”There’s no need to rush. Right now, you’re much stronger than when we first met.

Step by step, you’ll get there.

Don’t always dream of hitting 9999 with one strike or leveling up to the max in a minute, mowing down enemies left and right.

Too much impatience can take away much of the fun of the game.”

Although Bai Jin didn’t understand what Yang Yu was talking about in the last few sentences, she smiled like any ordinary girl,

”Mhm.”

Speaking of leveling up, Yang Yu suddenly realized something.

Both Bai Jin and Iyas were, like him, civilians, but there was no indication that their levels were anywhere near reaching a cap; they were smoothly increasing.

It was only him who had to worry every day about not gaining experience due to level caps.

Yang Yu vaguely remembered that when he started, his race read ’Human (Poor)’, but now his race had changed to Mixed Species, and the ’Poor’ part had disappeared somewhere.

Could it be that he was from a second-generation debt-ridden family?

Certainly, his family’s life appeared comfortable, but they might actually be burdened with a mountain of bad debts?

emmmmm...

Anyway, He Meng’s favorability had started to rise, so it should soon spill the beans about the main storyline of the Slime Kingdom. I’d better return then!

It would be a sort of triumphant return.

Having made up his mind, Yang Yu looked at He Meng, who, exhausted, hopped onto Bai Jin’s shoulder and burrowed into the hood of her White Jin Robe, settling down to sleep.

Yang Yu held out his hand to Iyas and gestured for her to come over.

Iyas asked in confusion, ”What?”

”The battle is over. It’s time to return the bow. It’s too distinctive; it’s not safe for you to keep it,”

With an ”Oh,” Iyas reluctantly handed the bow back to Yang Yu and took back her own Longbow, while Bai Jin also returned the equally conspicuous Star Clan’s Scepter to him.

Next, Yang Yu and his companions began to thoroughly clean up the battlefield, gathering all the bodies of the Curse Sect members together and burning them to ashes.

Bai Jin had said that it was very difficult to find a Spiritual Body out of nowhere, but with the remains of the dead, summoning one became quite easy.

Thus, the remains of the strong were highly sought after in the realm of Spirit Manipulators. Despite the fact that they might not be able to contract with a Spiritual Body for long, many Spirit Manipulators still coveted them.

Since he was not a Spiritual Ability User, Yang Yu could not completely erase the Spiritual Bodies of Kenro and Tu Jing.

The two of them still had the potential to be summoned and driven by other Spirit Manipulators, especially those from the Curse Sect.

By completely destroying the remains of Tu Jing and Kenro, even if it didn’t prevent their summoning, it would slow down the speed at which they could be summoned and learn about the situation, buying more time for development.
