Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 515: Chapter 515: You’ve been AFK for so long, it’s time to come online

”Use this liberally, especially against tough opponents, Bai Jin; I need you to crush them instantly.”

Facing Yang Yu’s demand, Bai Jin nodded.

For some reason, holding the Fairy’s Magic Stone and feeling the Magic Power emanating from it gave Bai Jin a great sense of security.

She even felt that as long as she had the Fairy’s Magic Stone, she could use incredibly powerful magic anytime, anywhere.

If she used Ice Magic, she would plunge the forest into the depths of winter.

If she used Flame Magic, she would burn the entire forest to ashes.

After handing Bai Jin the Magic Stone, Yang Yu walked behind her and reached into the hood behind her, pulling out He Meng, who had been hanging there, from the hood.

Yang Yu held He Meng with one hand and took out a clover, dangling it in front of He Meng.

Having been separated from Yang Yu for a whole week, He Meng, who had not eaten clovers for a full week, upon seeing the clover and unable to contain his hunger, leaped at the chance to swallow it.

However, Yang Yu tightly grabbed He Meng with one hand, and before He Meng could fully extend his body to pounce, Yang Yu crushed the clover into a ball and threw it away carelessly.

He Meng was stunned for a moment; the part of his body that had stretched out bounced back like jelly to its original place and immediately grew two small arms from his body to protest.

You scoundrel! Don’t you know it’s shameful to waste food!

Turning his palm over and flipping He Meng upside down, Yang Yu poked He Meng’s little face with a serious expression,

”He Meng, listen carefully, this enemy is unlike any other.

We’ve nearly gathered enough strength; our stage is about to move from small-time skirmishes to a much higher one, and during this period, we will face all sorts of dangers.

You’ve been slacking off for so long, it’s time for you to come online.

You wouldn’t want us to just die, right? If I die, you’ll never get to eat these clovers again.”

In the past, Yang Yu would not have said such things to He Meng.

He Meng’s favorability towards Yang Yu had always been no higher than 0, but somehow, after conquering the Hall of Courage, He Meng’s favorability towards him suddenly broke through 0 and skyrocketed by ten points.

Pondering why He Meng’s favorability had suddenly increased, Yang Yu thought for a long time.

Dismissing the possibility that He Meng had been hit on the head by something, Yang Yu believed the most likely reason was that during their long journey, He Meng had gradually acknowledged his strength, believing that he truly had the ability to help her reclaim her country.

It was time to turn He Meng into a human form, listen to her demands, and put it on the agenda.

Then, they could take a step ahead in obtaining the long-coveted Slime Kingdom subplot and win a hefty reward.

But, before that...

Yang Yu took out a shrunken lizard hand from the system and, with a mischievous smile, handed it over to He Meng.

Yang Yu had long noticed that in this world, the vast majority of skills could not be obtained simply by leveling up.

To acquire a skill, one needed extensive practice or use a Skill Scroll.

He Meng already possessed reasonably high attributes, but her skill list was utterly rubbish; she only had three skills: ”Slime Impact,” ”Basic Regeneration,” and an upgraded ”Extended Traits,” along with two major inherent lineage skills.

While staying at the stronghold of ”Red Blood Rose,” Sena, as a Monster Tamer, had once incessantly chatted into Yang Yu’s ear about how to cultivate slimes.

In many people’s minds, slimes were quite weak demons.

However, slimes as a type of demon had extraordinary potential; by devouring other demons, they could become stronger.

Yang Yu knew this well; if a slime devoured a superior giant dragon, it too could gain immense power, effectively secure its territory for farming, and even become a Demon King.

The problem is that the vast majority of slimes are very weak, mostly lower-class slimes born after the death of a resident of the Slime Kingdom, acting only on instinct.

The actual residents of the Slime Kingdom do not easily appear above ground, let alone prey on other demons. It’s already a blessing that they weren’t caught and boiled by other demons.

Since He Meng followed Yang Yu away from home, he had basically only eaten clovers and naturally had no chance to acquire other skills.

Previously, Yang Yu discovered that after He Meng swallowed the Goblin King, his attributes had increased significantly. He had tried to get He Meng to swallow some other demons to become stronger.

However, He Meng stated that it was too disgusting to eat and refused to eat meat.

Thinking it might be a favorability issue, Yang Yu didn’t force He Meng any further.

Now that He Meng’s favorability had turned positive, it was naturally time to seize the opportunity to properly train him and turn him into a powerful combat force.

Holding a black lizard palm, Yang Yu forcefully stuffed it into He Meng’s body. To an outsider, it looked as if Yang Yu was pressing against He Meng with a thick black lizard arm.

He Meng tasted it, sour and sweet—too damn disgusting!

With a slap, He Meng’s body changed into a little hand and swatted away the lizard claw in Yang Yu’s hand.

But Yang Yu held steady and brought the lizard claw back to He Meng’s mouth.

”He Meng, you don’t want us to die, right? If you don’t want us to die, then obediently eat this. It’s specially obtained for you by Miss Sena from her Sister Ajing.”

He Meng once again changed into a little hand, shoving away the lizard claw in Yang Yu’s hand, indicating he wouldn’t listen to the nonsense.

Yang Yu continued to persistently put the lizard claw into He Meng’s body, and after some struggle, he finally managed to get He Meng to swallow the lizard claw at the cost of decreasing He Meng’s favorability by two points.

This was a demon known as Lemon Lizard, which hunted with strong acid. The skill Yang Yu most wanted He Meng to learn was self-evident.

[Congratulations, your demon ”He Meng” has learned the skill ”Acidic Dissolution”]

The familiar system notification rang again near Yang Yu’s ear, and a smile appeared on his face.

He hadn’t expected to succeed on the first try; his bad luck hadn’t rubbed off on He Meng after all!

With ”Acidic Dissolution,” He Meng’s digestion efficiency would greatly improve.

Just as He Meng forced down the lizard hand and was about to breathe a sigh of relief, she saw Yang Yu approaching with a pile of strange materials he had taken from who knows where, grinning mischievously.

...

...

Some time later.

[Congratulations, your demon ”He Meng” has learned ”Iron Wall”

Congratulations, your demon ”He Meng” has learned ”High-speed Rotation”

Congratulations, your demon ”He Meng” has learned ”Trample”]

Following ”Acidic Dissolution,” Yang Yu spent six more favorability points to teach He Meng three more skills.

To prevent He Meng from reverting to spectator mode again after running out of favorability, Yang Yu deliberately left him with two favorability points.

Next, it was time to distribute attribute points.

He Meng, who freeloaded experience, was already LV64, with both defenses well over a thousand. The best method of distribution was to add all free attribute points to Endurance to make up for the deficiencies in Blood Volume and mana.

However, to continue giving He Meng the feeling that following him would result in noticeable strength improvements, Yang Yu chose to allocate a considerable number of free attribute points to the immediately effective attribute of Speed.
