Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 509: Chapter 509 These Grapes are Quite Delicious

Controlling Mario as he entered the final level, ”biu——biubiu——”, Yang Yu symbolically fired a few bullets, signaling ”I’m here,” and then with some seriously slick moves, he dodged Koopa’s flames and a series of flying axes, squat-jumped towards the bridge’s switch, and watched Koopa fall into the lava.

Mario successfully rescued the princess in the white dress, Princess Peach.

Fortunately, in that era, there wasn’t a tool like the Princess’s Crown; otherwise, why bother saving the princess? Just find the opportunity to slap the crown onto Koopa’s head, turning him into Princess Koopa, grab her hand before she plummets into the lava, and confess your love with the suspense of the falling bridge effect. You could then capture her heart and live happily ever after.

The ending credits rolled up, but Yang Yu didn’t get the theoretical highest score.

He didn’t even remember every scoring point.

Besides that, if he missed some monsters, they were truly missed.

Even if he stuck to the left side of the screen, the main viewpoint wouldn’t move an inch; he could only march in place or give up on looking back and keep moving forward.

However, since he finished the level quite quickly, he should be able to make up for the shortfall in his score.

If he was simply going through the levels without skipping, he could complete all eight challenges in about half an hour. To score more points, this time had to be extended a bit.

His completion was up to standard, anyway.

The system interface turned into the ”loading...” screen again, officially entering the settlement page.

Yang Yu picked a grape from not too far away, peeled it, popped it into his mouth, and began to savor it with relish.

Sour and sweet, Yang Yu picked several more in succession, munching while waiting for the settlement.

”How is it, tastes good, doesn’t it?”

A voice rang out beside him, and Yang Yu realized that at some point, Zuixiang. Pu Tao had squatted near him while he had been picking grapes from his head.

It was normal for members of the Plant Clan to have edible parts grow on their bodies.

In the Plant Clan’s village, Yang Yu had eaten both the roses grown from Meiyu. Rose and the sugar candy made by a sugar candy girl using rose flower sugar.

Unfortunately, the plants produced by the Plant Clan, being made of magic power, are only good for satisfying the palate and giving a sense of fullness; they don’t provide nutrition or energy, nor do they restore anyone’s stamina or magic power, much like the ice created by magicians with magic spells.

If eating ice could restore mana, then when he was low on mana, he’d just have Bai Jin conjure up a block of ice, turn it into shaved ice, drizzle it with syrup, wouldn’t that be splendid?

As long as it didn’t upset his stomach, Yang Yu might even go for another bowl.

Since summoned plants are composed of magic power, the Plant Clan still had to grow their own food, and two members of the Plant Clan couldn’t sustain themselves by eating the plants they grew, achieving perpetual motion.

Knowing this, Zuixiang. Pu Tao, in Yang Yu’s opinion, was no different from someone with a bunch of grapes on their head. Since he had already eaten and enjoyed the taste, he naturally felt no burden. He even picked a few more.

”What variety of grape is this? It’s quite tasty.”

Zuixiang. Pu Tao’s temper flared up instantly, with the thought of rubbing Yang Yu into the ground crossing his mind, but he suppressed the anger in his heart and said with a forced smile:

”Don’t get so familiar, my grapes have always been for my good friends only!

Who do you think you are? I’ll tell you, if you want to eat my grapes, then defeat me in the upcoming competition!

That way, I’ll reluctantly make friends with you.”

”No need, because after I win, I’ll be leaving right away, and there’s no advantage to becoming your friend.”

I had my eyes on the whole scene of your fight with Shihui, and just because someone barely beat you once, you’ve been obsessed with him for an entire year.

What if I beat you effortlessly and then leave the Plant Clan village, not knowing when I’ll return? If you pine for me day and night, unable to sleep, what will people think if they believe I’ve turned you gay?

Being misunderstood is a minor issue, but what if your longing actually makes you gay? That would be a real problem.

Sigh—if only I hadn’t added those extra hundred points to my charm.

Of course, Yang Yu couldn’t say what he was thinking. He stuffed the grapes he held into Zuixiang. Pu Tao’s hands, adopting an expression of someone who couldn’t care less.

”Do you really think you can win the championship?” Zuixiang. Pu Tao shoved the grapes back into her mouth and spoke rudely while chewing, ”Hmph, don’t think that just because you took down Shihui and Ghost Shadow that you can act all high and mighty—I’ve already seen through all your moves! In the end, there will only be one winner, and that will be me!”

After saying this, Zuixiang. Pu Tao stood up and strided back to the spectators’ seats, leaving Yang Yu clueless about why Zuixiang. Pu Tao came here in the first place. However, there was no need to delve into that with someone as straightforward as her.

Glancing at the panel, the sugar-making machine had completed the tally, and the familiar voice of the System congratulated Yang Yu once more.

[Evaluation: Incredible. Congratulations, Player, on obtaining the title: [Eating Mushrooms Makes You Grow]—Increases Max HP by 20% when in an abnormal state.]

Yang Yu was quite pleased with this title, as it was decidedly a cut above some of the previous, more cryptic titles he’d obtained.

With the existence of [Double-sided Slash], any skill or title that could temporarily increase the maximum blood volume indirectly made up for Yang Yu’s lack of offensive power.

Yang Yu pointed his finger at the extra candy that appeared on the sugar machine interface. It was a silver candy, round as the moon.

[Silver Teeth Clan Level Cap Upgrade Sugar (Top Grade), use it to increase level cap by +25, and will come with some additional rewards.]

Upon clicking use, Yang Yu immediately felt a surge of power greater than before sweeping through his body. The long-unchanged level cap was smashed like a stone hitting hard, leaving a gaping hole, raising the level cap from Level 55 to 80.

To his delight, after using the essence of the Silver Teeth Clan, Yang Yu’s attributes increased significantly. This wasn’t the minor increment of a few or a dozen points that usually came with each level, but an increase of more than fifty points.
