Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 517: Chapter 517: You Call This Thing Ice Spear?

”I was really held up quite a bit by that person on Snow Mountain. Barely made it in time.”

Flexing his robust arms, beneath his Other Shore Flower mask, Kenro’s mouth involuntarily split into a wide grin. The Spiritual Bodies under his feet seemed to respond to his soaring spirits, whirling and howling around him.

”The things I didn’t accomplish last time, the damage you did to my body, and the harm you caused to my many Spiritual Bodies.

This humiliation, today, I will cleanse it thoroughly!

You will become my Spiritual Bodies, under my command for life!”

Waving his arm, the numerous Spiritual Bodies whirling around Kenro transformed into countless hands that lunged straight for Yang Yu.

Iyas took a deep breath, and a sacred light radiated from her, dispersing the black Spiritual Bodies. They scattered like mice seeing a cat.

But as soon as the light extinguished, the black arms charged at Yang Yu and the others again.

Yang Yu, carrying Bai Jin, leaped down from Lotcar, set Bai Jin down, and quickly drew out his Shield and Sword Blade to prepare for the battle.

Iyas also leaped from Lotcar onto a tree and drew her bow again, applying Hunter Mark and Deadly Shot. Golden arrows tore through the sky, heading straight for Kenro.

Beneath Kenro, a black mass boiled up, forming into a solid and hefty Shield that effortlessly snapped Iyas’s arrows in two.

The black Spiritual Bodies’ hands crackled as they pounced in front of Yang Yu and the others, who dodged just in time to avoid being swept up.

The strength of a Spirit Manipulator is not determined by the Manipulator himself, but by the strength of the Spiritual Bodies controlled.

Last time, due to the sudden intervention of Red Blood Rose, Kenro had lost many Spiritual Bodies, even his precious Contracted Spiritual Body, resulting in a significant drop in power.

But instead of being punished by his Sect for the failure, the Pope had assigned him one of his Seven Great Disciples, Generous Gao Fang, who provided him with numerous Spiritual Bodies.

Kenro even received the black tiger Spiritual Body as a gift.

Being so favored, Kenro was in awe and secretly vowed to cleanse his disgrace and personally offer the soul of that traitorous daughter to His Holiness the Pope.

Unfortunately, the black tiger Spiritual Body had wasted a lot of stamina on the journey, and Kenro hoped it could rest for a while.

However, even without it, Kenro believed he could still emerge victorious with certainty.

A mass of Spiritual Bodies roared out from beneath Kenro’s feet, converging in his hands to form a black sphere.

Kenro threw the black sphere at Yang Yu and the others. The Spiritual Bodies within it materialized instantly into soldiers on the battlefield and fierce beasts, charging at Yang Yu and his companions.

Yang Yu took a deep breath, suddenly accelerated, avoiding all the attacking Physical Spiritual Bodies and charged straight for Kenro, his Sword Blade enveloped in a swirl of orange light.

Yang Yu’s movements were even faster than before. In almost a single breath, he was in front of Kenro, his sword thrusting at Kenro’s chest.

With a sweep of his hand, black Spiritual Bodies surged from beneath Kenro’s feet, forming a towering black wall in front of him.

Little did they know, this was just a feint from Yang Yu. He withdrew his Sword Blade, bypassed the wall, and appeared behind Kenro, stabbing at his back.

Realizing Yang Yu’s true intent, the Spiritual Bodies abruptly climbed up Kenro’s legs, racing up to his back.

But they were a tad too late. Yang Yu’s Sword Blade pierced a blood-red streak across Kenro’s back, and all Kenro wanted now was to shake off Yang Yu’s sword, cry out his grievances, and express his agony.

But he knew he could no longer release his emotions at will like the first time he encountered Yang Yu and the others.

Suppressing the stabbing pain in his back, Kenro directed the delayed black spiritual body on his back to entangle Yang Yu’s sword, his steps on the inky black ground becoming more viscous, as if he might sink into a quagmire at any moment.

”I’m no longer the same as I was before, getting this close is asking for death, and you and your companion will be buried here!”

The blackness beneath Kenro’s feet transformed into howling venomous snakes, biting at Yang Yu.

Meanwhile, the substantial ghosts Kenro had created were drawing closer to Bai Jin and the others. Bai Jin clenched the Fairy’s Magic Stone tightly in her hand, chanting quickly, and finally a pristine Array appeared before her.

”Ice Spear Technique.”

The Fairy’s Magic Stone emitted a dazzling magic light, flowing from Bai Jin’s hand into the Magic Array, resonating with the magic she was casting. The Ice Spear, originally the size of a spear, suddenly grew, becoming as thick as a pillar.

The Ice Spear launched forward, stirring up a fierce whirlwind along its path, spreading a chilling coldness under the moonlight, piercing through spiritual bodies, and bearing down on Kenro.

”How could magic be so powerful.”

His own spiritual bodies had not blocked Bai Jin’s Ice Spear, and Kenro hurried to redirect the spiritual bodies that were attacking Yang Yu for a quick defense.

No longer struggling to move, Yang Yu let go of the sword entangled by Kenro’s spiritual body, squatted down, and touched the ground,

”Thorny Binding.”

Tons of thorns broke through the solid ground, wrapping around Kenro.

Kenro relied on willpower to control his spiritual body, and although his movements were sealed off, it did not completely stop him from weaving into a Shield with spiritual bodies; however, this moment of distraction was enough to weaken the strength of the shield he had created.

As Yang Yu anticipated, Kenro did not break through the thorns but continued to manipulate spiritual bodies.

A black Shield formed before him, but the number of spiritual bodies composing the shield was far from expected.

The enormous Ice Spear and the black Shield collided, the sharp tip of the Ice Spear piercing through barrier after barrier in front of Kenro.

Yang Yu took the opportunity to pull out his sword, entangled by the spiritual body, and executed a series of ordinary slashes.

Facing the assault from both front and back, Kenro’s expression was grave; he had been able to dominate them before, but now they were crumbling so quickly.

Kenro wanted to summon his newly acquired powerful black tiger spiritual body for defense.

But it was already too late, unless someone could buy him a second or two...

Just as the sharp Ice Spear was about to pierce his body, suddenly from the area around Kenro’s heart, a black shadow different from the spiritual body he was controlling appeared.

This mass of black shadow rapidly swelled like an inflated balloon before Kenro, forming an air cushion that withstood the powerful assault of the Ice Spear, buying Kenro a few precious seconds.

A massive spiritual body crawled out from beneath Kenro, engulfing him and transforming into a black tiger; it swung its claws with might, shattering the Ice Spear in front of it, then turned and swung its tail, kicking its hind legs at Yang Yu.

”Shield Counter.”

Yang Yu raised his shield to block Kenro’s kick, but he was still sent flying by the giant black tiger.

Luckily, Yang Yu had ”Support Charge,” a shifting position that returned him to Bai Jin’s side.
