Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 519: Chapter 519: Do You Want to Give It a Try?

”Bai Jin, take that thing out.”

Hearing Yang Yu’s voice, Bai Jin did not hesitate, she raised her hand, and a gray ball the size of a ping-pong ball emerged from her palm.

Unknown characters gleamed on the gray sphere, and a circular red dot appeared in the center, like a hammer violently striking a circular frozen lake, numerous cracks spread out from the red dot.

Crimson seeped through the cracks, segmenting the internal fissures into segments, and the ball turned from a pale gray to a deep blue-black.

Bishop Tu Jing’s eyes bulged as soon as he saw the sphere in Bai Jin’s hands. His eyeballs on his gaunt face looked as if they were about to pop out any moment, protruding greatly.

His mouth kept opening and closing continuously, like a nutcracker in motion, creaking and gnashing.

In Bishop Tu Jing’s short life, he had the fortune of meeting a Demon face to face.

That was during a ceremony personally presided over by the Pope.

The Demon’s colossal stature, its incomparable strength, had plunged Bishop Tu Jing into profound shock.

When the Demon asked Tu Jing what wish he wanted to fulfill, Tu Jing trembled and knelt on both knees, his eyes brimming with excited tears, and he kowtowed three times and bowed nine times to the Demon Lord.

At that moment, Bishop Tu Jing abandoned the lifelong ambition he had pursued, and his life took on a new purpose—to forever seek out Demons, to make all under heaven realize the greatness of Demons.

”Demon Lord, to meet you is the honor of my lifetime. Just one encounter, and I desire nothing more in this life!”

The words Bishop Tu Jing spoke at that time were true, every single one a genuine sentiment.

Upon hearing Bishop Tu Jing’s words, the Demon immediately laughed interestingly, it bestowed a portion of its strength to Bishop Tu Jing, turning him into a Demon.Person.

It was just unfortunate that the Demon Lord was in another world. Only by fully opening the Abyss Gate could they potentially cross the barrier and descend upon this world.

And that sphere in Bai Jin’s hand was precisely the Abyss Gate, still not completely opened.

Seeing the Abyss Gate again, Bishop Tu Jing was overwhelmed with emotion, as it was through this device that the Demon Lord had blessed him with a portion of its power.

Bishop Tu Jing couldn’t help stepping forward, but at that moment, Yang Yu threw his Sword and Shield aside, snatched the Abyss Gate from Bai Jin’s hand, and pulled out a bizarre weapon from nowhere.

It looked like a small knife, but its blade was etched with slanting lines, and the material fixing the blade, was something Bishop Tu Jing had never seen before—it seemed like metal, yet completely without the weight of metal.

What was astonishing was its construction, which resembled the sliding doors’, exuding an aesthetic beauty, not something that could have been made carelessly.

”Don’t act rashly!”

Yang Yu held the utility knife against the Abyss Gate,

”The weapon in my hand, is the one you refer to as having been specially crafted by the traitor, to oppose what’s in my hand.

This knife may not destroy this sphere, but it can render it ineffective for a decade or even several decades.”

Glaring ferociously at Yang Yu, Bishop Tu Jing stepped back and scoffed loudly, ”Heh heh heh! I don’t know where you got that kind of weapon, but with that little broken knife in your hand, you cannot harm the Abyss Gate. Besides...”

”’If the thing made by the traitor could really stop the Abyss Gate for a decade or even several decades, wouldn’t it have been used earlier? Why would it be left until now?’”

Yang Yu flicked the utility knife, letting it extend a few more centimeters.

”Do you want to try?”

Bishop Tu Jing’s smile came to an abrupt end as he carefully observed Yang Yu. At this moment, the aura Yang Yu displayed did not seem false, and the possibility that his words were entirely lies could not be dismissed.

Yang Yu met Tu Jing’s gaze without any sign of retreat. If he showed even the slightest flaw right now, the plan he had prepared would go down the drain,

”Let me tell you the truth!

Our real goal is to completely destroy this thing. Bai Jin’s father is just afraid that his Magic Technique might backfire during the destruction of the sphere, which is why he has not used this method to seal the Abyss Gate yet.

Even a moment earlier would’ve been better for him. He wanted to completely destroy it, not leave the slightest regret. What I hold in my hand is just a temporary measure, unable to solve the problem Bai Jin’s father faced at the root.”

Yang Yu clenched the sphere in his hand a bit tighter,

”But we are different from him! We were forcibly entrusted with it, and I still believe our lives are more important.”

Tu Jing’s eyes hardened, ”So what? At this point, you have no right to discuss terms!”

”Right to terms, haven’t I already earned it?

Do you really not know, or are you just playing dumb?”

Yang Yu’s utility knife gently tapped the Abyss Gate, making a ”ding—” sound,

”You’re right, negotiations are based on the premise of equal strength. But don’t forget what crazy decisions a person might make when faced with death.

In a situation where death is certain, I might just stab this thing with a knife.

Even if we die, we want to seriously piss you off.

Having waited for years, you’ll have to wait another decade or even decades. By then, will you still be alive to meet the Demon Lord you’ve always admired?

Having reached this point, am I qualified enough to talk to you?”

Yang Yu’s voice spread throughout the entire forest, and the shadows surrounding them along with the priests of the Curse Sect remained motionless, except for a single voice that came from behind Tu Jing.

”Bishop Tu Jing! Don’t believe his nonsense. Last time I was deceived by their words and suffered for it. I gave them a chance last time, and they don’t know how to cherish it!”

With his eyes rolling around, Tu Jing looked up and to the side towards the back, ”Kenro, you don’t need to tell me, I have my own judgment. Just rest over there, priority goes to the Demon Lord, put your personal feelings aside!”

Hearing Tu Jing’s shout, Kenro lowered his head, said ”Yes,” and fell silent.

At the same time, Tu Jing extended his withered hand into his hair and began scratching vigorously, as he was in the midst of making a painful decision.

The desire to see the Demon Lord even a moment sooner narrowly overcame Tu Jing’s rationality.

”Giggle, giggle, giggle, I’ve got it, I’ll talk to you guys just a bit.” Tu Jing pulled his hand out of his hair and made a three-finger gesture toward Yang Yu, ”I can let up to three of you live! Hand that thing over to me!”

”Three people? Isn’t that a bit too few?” Yang Yu’s utility knife moved a few fractions closer to the sphere, ”Can’t it be all of us?”

”This is already the greatest mercy I can offer you,” Tu Jing’s eyes flashed with a stern resolve, and his fingers pointed towards Bai Jin and Iyas, ”The traitor’s daughter, and that elf, they must both die here today; the rest I might consider sparing your lives.”
