Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 503: Chapter 503: In the Final Circle Every Time

Cuiyu, sitting on the referee seat, couldn’t help but hide a grin and, following the rules, announced the outcome of the competition,

”Gyroscope Song Bai admits defeat, Yang Yu wins. Contestants, please leave the field, next pair, prepare.”

The Plant Clan spectators were dumbfounded, the result completely beyond their expectations. They had thought Yang Yu was cornered with no retreat, and that he would soon be sent flying by Gyroscope Song Bai, crashing to the ground to eat dirt.

But they never imagined Yang Yu would actually use suction cups on his feet to climb onto another’s back, and resort to such methods to force Gyroscope Song Bai to admit defeat.

If Gyroscope Song Bai had not yielded, Yang Yu would have started fidgeting, causing him both physical and mental anguish, leaving scars in his heart that could never be erased.

The enormous Gyroscope Song Bai gradually shrank from his Tree man form back to his original, nearly Human form, whereas Yang Yu had already put away his Shield and axe and jumped in front of Gyroscope Song Bai the moment the result was announced.

Gyroscope Song Bai sat on the ground with a thud, so angry he was lost for words. His last competition in life had ended in such a manner.

”Uncle Gyroscope, don’t think I won without honor. Blame the Plant Clan Council for scheduling me in the very last match.”

Yang Yu chuckled and reached out his hand to Gyroscope Song Bai,

”This was the only quick method I could think of to defeat you. Neither you nor I wanted to waste too much stamina before the next match, I hope you understand.”

With a cold snort, Gyroscope Song Bai took Yang Yu’s hand and stood up.

Suddenly, Gyroscope Song Bai’s other arm swung over to grab Yang Yu’s forearm, attempting to throw Yang Yu over his shoulder to the ground.

Yang Yu instantly activated ”Climbing”; his feet became like powerful magnets, sticking to the ground, steadfast against Gyroscope Song Bai’s tugs.

”To think there’s such a Skill, no wonder you could stick to my back so firmly. Just thinking about it makes me uncomfortable all over.”

Seeing that his retaliation had failed, Gyroscope Song Bai scoffed and turned away,

”Your next opponent is tough; he was the runner-up in the last championship. Don’t lose too badly and bring shame to me.”

After speaking, Gyroscope Song Bai walked back, joining the crowd of spectators, eager to see how Yang Yu would falter.

Yang Yu shrugged. Defeating Gyroscope Song Bai in such a way, of course, left him feeling indignation, but the best way for him to get over it would be for Yang Yu to demonstrate unexpected strength in the upcoming matches, making others feel his defeat wasn’t unjust.

Reminded by Gyroscope Song Bai, Yang Yu became even more aware of the difficulty of coming out on top.

Looking towards the spectator seats, a piercing gaze shot out, sizing up Yang Yu from head to toe.

The owner of the gaze stood out among the crowd, a good two meters tall, exceptionally noticeable among the Plant Clan. He was dressed in a black suit similar to that of a butler, with a black top hat on his head, emerald green hair tipped with slightly curled white-brown spines. From the back, he looked exactly like a hedgehog.

Through the stats panel, Yang Yu came to understand that Shihui’s Plant Ability was that of a Cactus.

Unfortunately, Shihui Cactus defeated his opponent so quickly that it only took one move to incapacitate them.

How many more cards he had up his sleeve, Yang Yu had no way of knowing.

However, as the champion of the previous competition, his strength wasn’t likely to be weak. Having finished runner-up last time, this time he was definitely aiming for the championship.

The troubling thing was that his loss last time might have been due to the competition format dragging him down.

A member of the Plant Clan from the right half of the bracket, who had also crushed his opponent, approached Shihui Cactus with laughter, shouting that this time he must avenge the arrow from their last encounter.

The shouting man’s name was Zuixiang. Pu Tao, with bunches of purple grapes tied atop his head and dressed in loose robes, he resembled a Buddha statue.

The attributes of both competitors were not much different; it wasn’t hard to imagine that Shihui Cactus had failed to win the championship last time because he encountered Zuixiang. Pu Tao in the semifinals. The two of them were locked in conflict, allowing a third party to step in.

Noticing that Yang Yu was also looking over, Shihui Cactus diverted his gaze and accepted Zuixiang. Pu Tao’s challenge with confidence, each laying down harsh words.

Just thinking that he had to treat each upcoming match like it was the final, Yang Yu felt a heaviness on his shoulders as if it had increased a bit. If he won them all, it would waste so much Experience.

Meanwhile, Bai Jin and her group were crossing the last checkpoint of the Plant Clan.

Even during the autumn festival, life forest’s Plant Clan guards were still vigilant. Bai Jin plucked petal after petal from the pink roses left by Meiyu. Rose and showed them to the guards before they were willing to let Bai Jin’s group pass.

Lotcar carried Bai Jin and her companions for an entire morning. Apart from the relentless pursuit of the Silver Teeth Tribe, Lotcar was also on the lookout for the Curse Sect plotting against them.

However, contrary to Lotcar’s expectations, there weren’t any Curse Sect members launching attacks at them along the way.

Even when they passed the Plant Clan guards and left the Silver Teeth Clan behind, there was still no sign of the Curse Sect making a move.

”Why has nobody attacked us...” Iyas was indecisive, ”Could we have misunderstood? Just overthinking it...”

”No, that’s impossible. There must be some reason they can’t act,” Lotcar said with determination.

”Reasons not to act... They also don’t plan to act on Plant Clan territory because of these so-called reasons?”

Iyas asked, her bow never leaving her hands for a moment, fearful that the moment she put down her bows and arrows, the Curse Sect’s people would suddenly appear and attack them.

Now only she could sense the approach of ”Darkness” and only she could respond in time.

”Probably so,” Lotcar replied.

”Sister, don’t be too tense, we’ve passed the final checkpoint, and we’ve entered the inner territory of the Plant Clan,” Hake consoled, ”The people of the Curse Sect dare not casually step into the territory of the Plant Clan. If they did, it would mean making enemies of all the Plant Clan.”

After a brief hesitation, Iyas responded with a soft ”mm” and cautiously placed her bow flat on Lotcar’s back.

Bai Jin sat in front of Iyas, tightly holding the Racial Essence of the Silver Teeth Clan, looking straight ahead.

The closer they got to the Plant Clan village, the faster Bai Jin’s heart beat, and the uneasiness in her heart grew. She didn’t know what Yang Yu had become in the past week.

If it was Yang Yu, there probably wouldn’t have been any changes.

Bai Jin comforted herself over and over again, but there was one thing she couldn’t soothe - Yang Yu always seemed to unintentionally improve his relationships with other girls.

With the thought, Bai Jin couldn’t help but hug the Racial Essence in her hands tighter. If she had escaped with great difficulty from the village of the Silver Teeth Clan only to find Yang Yu surrounded by girls, what then... What should she do?
