Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 504: Chapter 504: Time to Happily Grind Experience Again

”Lotcar, the selection competition at the autumn festival you mentioned, there’s no gender restriction, right?” Bai Jin asked.

Lotcar answered as if it were a matter of course, ”Of course, both men and women have a chance. Don’t worry, if it’s Yang Yu, he will definitely investigate each participant before the competition begins and devise a comprehensive strategy. Even if his opponent is a girl, he won’t go easy on her.”

Hearing this, Bai Jin couldn’t help but feel more anxious. Although interacting with other girls to gather intelligence was justifiable, what if Yang Yu’s soul was captivated by someone else...

Bai Jin tidied her disheveled hair that the wind had messed up, feeling uneasy. If she could become a bit more charming, would Yang Yu explicitly reject other girls and only have eyes for her?

Bai Jin wasn’t sure of the answer but was afraid to know it.

She feared that she was just one of the many people Yang Yu treated kindly and wasn’t special.

If that were the case...

”We can see the village now.”

Through the gaps between the trees, Iyas was the first to spot the Plant Clan’s village, interrupting Bai Jin’s thoughts. Bai Jin took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down while clutching the Racial Essence in her arms even tighter.

Arriving at the village entrance, Lotcar instantly noticed Yang Yu’s scent.

”There’s Yang Yu’s scent. He had been here at the village entrance. He most likely wouldn’t be here without a reason, perhaps anticipating our arrival.

Following Yang Yu’s scent, we should be able to find him very soon.

Getting the Racial Essence to him sooner will increase his chances of winning.”

Without stopping, Lotcar chased after the scent Yang Yu had left, heading towards the Tree Mother, while Iyas stood up from Lotcar’s back.

The competition to advance from the top sixteen to the top eight saw previously dominating contestants experiencing a bit more struggle in this round.

Eventually, they won the matches relatively relaxedly.

However, competitors, previously equally matched and now equally matched again, barely managed to defeat their opponents and couldn’t help but worry about the upcoming matches.

These contestants hoped someone could prolong their matches to buy them time to adjust.

But contrary to their wishes, the first seven matches each lasted no more than five minutes.

In less than an hour, it was Yang Yu’s and Shihui Cactus’s turn.

To outsiders, Yang Yu’s recent victory relied entirely on being shameless. This time, he would certainly be crippled by Shihui Cactus, who was the runner-up in the previous tournament.

”Next match, please enter the arena,” Cuiyu announced.

The towering Shihui Cactus stepped into the arena, staring at Yang Yu, who in midair was manipulating a panel and continued to check on Bai Jin and the others’ statuses, Lotcar’s stamina was still being consumed, while Bai Jin and Iyas’s statuses had hardly changed.

At least for now, they were safe.

But their arrival could at best cheer him on and boost his morale; it was of no help to his imminent match.

Just as Yang Yu thought this, he heard a long wolf howl not far away.

That was the voice of Lotcar.

Cuiyu stood up alertly from the referee’s seat, and Hans Morning Glory, hanging on the Tree Mother, also let go of the vines in his hands and descended a distance. In his field of view, a giant wolf carrying three people was rushing towards the location of the Tree Mother along the village path.

That might be the allies Yang Yu had mentioned earlier; Cuiyu and Hans did not obstruct them but returned to their respective positions.

”Yang Yu, catch this!”

Iyas took the Racial Essence of the Silver Teeth Clan from Bai Jin’s hands and threw it with all her might toward Yang Yu.

The silvery white Racial Essence shone mild and dazzling under the sun, and Yang Yu reached out his hands to catch the Racial Essence steadily. He could feel an infinite energy from this crystal ball-sized essence, just like the first time he firmly held the essence of the Plant Clan.

Without hesitation, Yang Yu directly threw the Silver Teeth Clan’s Racial Essence into the sugar-making machine for the Level Limit Enhancement Sugar.

The electronic sound of the System, which hadn’t been heard for a long time, echoed again by Yang Yu’s ears: ”Welcome to use the Fusion function again. Now, based on the Racial Essence you have obtained, extracting the corresponding game from the array library. Loading...”

The System entered the loading interface, and looking at his late-arriving allies, Yang Yu felt reassured, but also somewhat puzzled; the ”Revenge of Lotcar” had not yet been completed, so how did Lotcar obtain the Racial Essence of the Silver Teeth Clan?

Or was it that in his absence, Lotcar completed the revenge alone, obtained the essence, and now only needed help to transform back to his original form and find out who was behind the scenes?

Exactly how, Yang Yu would have to wait for the mini-game’s judgment to confirm.

However, it was a good thing that Lotcar managed to deliver their Clan’s Essence in time; this way, he need not worry about wasting experience and could level up joyfully.

Yang Yu’s face broke into a smile, and he gave Bai Jin and the others a thumbs up.

Lotcar and the others also smiled in unison and walked toward the Tree Mother as everyone stared intently at them.

Bai Jin took out the rose flower in her hand which had only one petal left, ”We’re not suspicious people—we’ve just come to find our companion.”

After that, everyone’s gaze shifted to Yang Yu who hadn’t yet stepped into the field, then to Meiyu Rose not far away.

All of the Plant Clan knew that the flower in Bai Jin’s hand came from Meiyu Rose.

Meiyu Rose nodded and smiled helplessly, ”Originally, I wanted you to come earlier, that’s why I left that rose. Why did you take so long? I thought you didn’t want to come.”

”We had plenty of situations on our side; to arrive here smoothly is already a miracle.”

The huge Lotcar suddenly spoke, startling the nearby Plant Clan members.

But the members of the Plant Clan quickly realized that Lotcar was a member of the Silver Teeth Clan transformed into a giant wolf, living not far in this forest.

”I have a lot of things to ask you guys, but since we’re in the middle of a competition, let’s talk about it afterward. Cuiyu, let’s start the competition quickly please.”

Hearing Meiyu Rose say this, Cuiyu’s beautiful eyes looking at Yang Yu shifted slightly.

The Silver Teeth Clan wouldn’t easily acknowledge an outsider, and the aura of the item they just threw resembled the essence of the Plant Clan to some extent—it might be the Racial Essence of the Silver Teeth Clan.

Who exactly was this man, able to have someone from the Silver Teeth Clan hand over their Racial Essence for his use?
