Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

31: Chapter 31 Transfer of Command 31: Chapter 31 Transfer of Command Standing on the edge of the goblin village, the rescue team’s faces were full of astonishment.

Deep in the dense forest lay a well-organized village, complete with goblin troops practicing drills, and goblins farming fields and breeding livestock; everything was in perfect order.

Contrary to everyone’s impression of goblins living in caves, these goblins had built intricate wooden houses around tree trunks, with neat wooden planks.

These structures were larger and more beautifully crafted than many other villages.

Beneath the wooden houses, within several huts, there were cages of various sizes imprisoning the missing adventurers.

In the center of the village, a wooden palace stretched across several large trees, equivalent to dozens of wooden houses.

The ceiling was adorned with various luminous metals and hung with red banners featuring goblin patterns.

Sekamens pointed and said, “The house where I saw the elite goblins entering and leaving is that one.”

Do you think we are all blind?

It’s so obvious; anyone could see it.

Yang Yu rolled his eyes and said, “We’re only interested in where the traps are.”

Hearing this, Sekamens immediately began to point out all the Nai Luo traps in the area from which they had escaped; he was helpless regarding other directions.

“Since we know the traps over there, let’s make that area the main battlefield,” Andro organized the troops, providing motivation and inspiration.

By their estimate, there were at least a thousand goblins.

Excluding those breeding livestock and tending the fields, at least seven to eight hundred were capable of fighting.

The goblins of varying levels were armed with different weapons, the lowest with stone axes, followed by long spears and swords.

Surveying the surroundings again, Yang Yu found the melting furnace but noticed no traces of ore use, confirming that their weapons were forged from metal obtained through plunder.

Otherwise, even the most basic goblin would be fully armed.

“We’ll launch a surprise attack when there’s a gap during the changing of the goblin guards on duty.

We don’t have much time, and after destroying so many eyes, they might already be on alert.

We must be careful.”

Andro continued to assess the situation while silently moving next to Yang Yu and wrapping his muscular arm around Yang Yu.

“Lord Yang Yu, take a look, does this plan work?”

Caught in the embrace of this muscular man, Yang Yu shivered.

Just speak normally, embracing like this is quite embarrassing.

No wait, what I mean is, I’m not interested in that way, please spare me!

Thank you!

Ever since he had helped Andro find Sekamens to gather intelligence, Yang Yu felt that Andro’s gaze toward him had changed.

How to describe it…

It was like a girl blushing under the sunset after school, confessing her feelings with affection in her eyes.

That was the feeling, and Yang Yu even began to wonder if this old guy had taken a fancy to him.

To avoid becoming awkwardly flustered, he stared straight at the goblin encampment.

Although there were a great many goblins, their levels were not high, ranging between 11 to 16, a few AOE attacks could suppress them, and the remaining hundred or so above level 16 were on par with the rescue team.

“If it’s just this, perhaps it can work.”

“Then there’s no problem.”

Upon receiving Yang Yu’s approval, Andro was about to issue the command to the entire army when a group of goblins lifted the curtains of the wooden palace and stood on the wide wooden platform, overlooking the entire dense forest, their gazes fixed directly on where Yang Yu and the others were located.

Among the small group of goblins, there was an immensely majestic figure in the center, nearly two meters tall.

The elite goblins, barely reaching 1.2 meters, looked like dwarfs beside him.

He wore armor similar to Sekamens’s, only differing in color; it didn’t shine as Sekamens’s did.

In his right hand, he held a thick and long black Long Stick.

If it weren’t for his face, which had a long nose and pointed ears, Yang Yu would have mistakenly thought a human had infiltrated the goblins.

Upon opening the Attribute panel, Yang Yu was dumbstruck.

[Goblin King Jane Ragi Ci Level: LV 30

HP: 2140/2140 MP: 1130/1130

Strength 322, Defense 151, Intelligence 402, Special Defense 92, Agility 78, Endurance 312

Resistance: Physical Resistance 10%, Magic Resistance 15%, Wind Attribute Resistance 30%]

With strength over 300 and intelligence over 400, plus more than 2000 in blood and over 1000 in mana?

High output while being tough, and high damage while being tough, is that even reasonable?

Even Anno, level 42 with well-developed muscles, had only around 360 in strength…

This was bound to be a tough battle, and he wondered if it was still possible to flee.

“Anno, I think, we should temporarily retreat.

That goblin is not something we can easily handle.”

Anno’s face was stern, yet he showed no hint of backing down, “I know the opponent is strong, and now that I’ve seen it, it does have far superior strength to us.

But it’s too late to run now!

You’ve noticed too, right Mr.

Yang Yu, we’ve been targeted.

Running now would only lead to certain death.

All we can do is hold them off and wait for the improbable rescue team.

Even if we die, we should at least inflict damage on their troops.”

Were you not just obediently listening to me?

How come you suddenly can judge the situation so righteously, ready to fight to the death?

Yang Yu smiled helplessly.

Although escaping carried certain risks, it was still better than a complete annihilation; he had ultimately underestimated the difficulty of this Task.

Their adventure group defeating the Goblin King was, at best, a long shot.

To have a fair fight, he had to use every trick he knew to control everyone here, to create proactivity.

As long as they dragged this into a war of attrition, the goblin troops, devoid of Priests and Mages, would gradually fall into disadvantage.

The problem was, he wasn’t the leader of this rescue team; it was impossible to command over a hundred people at once.

“Listen to me, we will hold our position for now.

If they attack, I will be the first to jump out and fight their leader.

If I die, command will be entirely handed over to Mr.

Yang Yu.

No, from now on, his commands take precedence over mine!”

Yang Yu was startled to hear Anno say this.

At this critical moment, Anno had handed over full command to him.

No one present objected to Anno’s decision; instead, there were nods of approval, recognizing this suddenly appointed leader.

It’s like being offered a pillow as soon as you want to sleep.

Seeing this scene, a smile appeared on Yang Yu’s face, “Keeping everyone alive might be very difficult, so when I ask you to sacrifice yourselves for the group, don’t hesitate and don’t hate me.”

“If there are any deaths, I’ll take full responsibility,” Anno said with determination.

“No need, if there are deaths, I’ll take responsibility,” Yang Yu smiled, “I’ve said to follow my lead.

Cheer up, listen carefully to commands, remember your number and everyone else’s, and carry out the commands I give.

Perhaps we can all survive.”
