Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

11: Chapter 11 Draw a Circle and Curse You 11: Chapter 11 Draw a Circle and Curse You Favorability -10.

Bai Jin’s favorability sharply dropped and Yang Yu’s mind instantly shattered.

“Why did the favorability plummet just because I tried to start a conversation?

That shouldn’t happen.

I mean, I do consider myself quite handsome.”

Or could it be that she has been hurt by unscrupulous men, and my actions just now resembled those of such a man, creating a weird misunderstanding between us?

Any other reasons…

Is my charm too low?

There were too many possibilities, Yang Yu simply gave up thinking.

He wasn’t familiar with the girl’s personality; acting rashly and blindly might raise or lower her favorability.

Moreover, since he wanted her to become his partner, he would have to show his sincerity rather than engaging in pointless tricks.

“Sorry, please forget what I just said.

I’ll cut to the chase, I hope you can become my partner,” Yang Yu sincerely extended his invitation.

Bai Jin’s figure above her head returned to 17 and she asked, “Why do you want to invite me?

We just met today…”

“Oh, that!”

Just as Yang Yu was about to explain, a burly man with thick eyebrows tapped on his shoulder.

“Kid, I advise you to give up.”

“Why?”

The man lowered his voice, cautiously warning Yang Yu, “Going on tasks with this kid often leads to trouble.

The gloomy things she says tend to come true.

Many teams who go out with her end up missing arms and legs.

Simply put, she’s a bringer of misfortune, and staying with her only brings bad luck.”

Despite the hushed tone, Bai Jin, not far away, heard every word the man said but didn’t deny it, just continued chewing her dry sweet potato fries as if she hadn’t heard.

“Unlucky to be with her?

You believe such superstitious stuff?” Yang Yu scoffed dismissively.

Her luck value is ten times mine.

If teaming up with her brings misfortune, that would totally be my own fault!

Besides, her curse resistance is so high, and she even has a sickly attribute, a nailed-on rare character.

Perhaps curing her from sickness might turn her into the main damage dealer in my team.

I don’t buy your words, no way I’d give up on her.

Based on his years of gaming experience, Yang Yu firmly believed that a character with Bai Jin’s attributes was key to unlocking hidden plots.

Letting her go now would be a total fool’s move.

“The reason those teams met with disaster is probably because they didn’t heed advice and were stubbornly reckless.

Later, to cover up their own mistakes, they heaped all the blame on this helpless girl.”

A few young adventurers in the pub guiltily looked away; initially eager to watch the drama unfold, now, not one spoke a word.

“But sometimes…

even though people treat her kindly, she still…”

The well-intentioned man seemed to want to say more, but seeing Yang Yu’s resolute gaze, he shook his head and walked away.

Once the union grew noisy again, Yang Yu looked at Bai Jin, whose plate was already emptied of sweet potato fries.

She sat with her hands awkwardly placed on the edge of the clean plate, and her favorability had returned to 19.

“Just answer my question from earlier, why did you invite me?

Even though we just met today…” Bai Jin repeated her question, afraid that Yang Yu had forgotten.

“Because you look very strong.

That’s all.”

“That’s all?”

“That’s all.”

Nonsense.

If it weren’t for your intelligence over 200 and your favorability approaching 20, I wouldn’t have spoken to you or asked you to join my team.

This answer didn’t change Bai Jin’s favorability again, but she grabbed Yang Yu, gasping for air.

“Are you really sure you want to team up with me?

As you can see, I’m a gloomy and suspicious guy, I only use dark and seemingly useless curse magic that suits me, and I’m also plagued by illness.

I might actually bring misfortune.

With someone like me, someone like me, would you still recruit me?” Bai Jin’s voice gradually lowered, vaguely resembling an evil witch, “Tell me the truth, if you dare lie, I will curse you, curse you all my life, heh heh heh, your tragic death when you betray your oath!

Hahaha, I can see it!”

Her creepy words echoed in his ears, and the hollow gaze hidden beneath her hair, sharp as daggers, stung his nerves; Yang Yu’s scalp tingled, finally understanding why this girl’s charm was negative and why she always ended up taking the blame.

Big sister, can you change the way you talk?

Like this, even if you’re not the villain, people will treat you as one.

Yang Yu sighed deeply and asked, “Are you a curse magician?”

“Right?

Are you having second thoughts?” Bai Jin’s face darkened, and she chuckled eerily, “It’s still not too late to back out, but if you dare deceive me, even as a ghost, I will curse you forever.”

“Do you have curse magic that reduces healing or regeneration?”

“Of course, that boring magic is nothing to me.

I’ve got even more powerful ones that take life as the price…”

“Then there’s no problem.

You’re not allowed to back out.”

Yang Yu quickly grabbed Bai Jin’s hand.

Her hand was as white as cream, delicate and powerless as if it would shatter upon touch, but Yang Yu still held on tightly, making sure the duck didn’t escape.

“Huh?”

Bai Jin’s gloomy face suddenly underwent a dramatic change, her cheeks flushing red with embarrassment.

She quickly withdrew her hand, and her favorability jumped several digits to 32.

Success!

The system panel added a teaming feature, and when he clicked into it, Bai Jin’s name appeared prominently, and her attributes and skills were visible.

Yang Yu couldn’t help but laugh when he opened them; indeed, he had stumbled upon a treasure.

Aside from the basic magic attack skills “Frost Ice Arrow” and “Fireball Technique,” there were small area of effect AOEs like “Ice Cone Skill” and “Black Thunder Surge,” and a variety of curse-support skills like “Weapon Corrosion” and “Armor Corrosion” that reduce attack and defense, as well as “Misfortune Curse,” which lowers blast damage and critical hit chance.

Yang Yu, as a curse-dreaded player from Africa, was especially wary of being killed by a single critical strike; this skill could level the playing field, allowing Yang Yu to defeat others with his rich gaming experience.

Among these, what astonished Yang Yu the most was “Healing Prohibition,” which was useful in early, mid, and late stages, preventing enemies from healing or regenerating, halving the blood volume of resurrected enemies, costing 100MP, lasting an hour, and with a cooldown of only one minute!!!

Oh boy, this girl really is the king of cost-efficiency, having so many skills and such high intelligence at level 12.

At level 100, wouldn’t she be shoulder to shoulder with the sun?

The only drawback was her low mana, preventing her from casually casting skills; but as long as she could sustain her mana and mana recovery speed, she would be the strongest counter in the late stage.
