29: Chapter 29: Starting the Group 29: Chapter 29: Starting the Group Elite Assassin Goblins were few in number, but they greatly troubled the rescue team.

These little creatures were extremely agile, and it was very likely that with a moment’s carelessness, they could find an opening and stab a knife into the kidney.

Everyone was cautiously responding to avoid repeating their mistakes; however, a turning point soon emerged.

It all started when the first Elite Assassin Goblin fell.

Accompanied by a scream, the Elite Assassin Goblin confronting Yang Yu fell to the ground and did not move again.

Within the rescue team, other Elite Assassin Goblins freely roamed and slaughtered wantonly, bewildered by the sight of their dispatched comrade being swiftly taken down.

How…

how is this possible?

Why didn’t he fall instead?

From the start of the battle till now, it’s only been three minutes.

Even if he was to claim victory, it shouldn’t have been this quick.

Our Elite Assassin Goblins are incredibly agile.

They shouldn’t have been killed by such an insignificant character, radiating the aura of a weakling.

It should have been that small character who screamed tragically and fell in a pool of blood.

Why did it have to be one of us…

What happened in reality was exactly the opposite of what the goblins thought.

How did he manage to do it?

Could he have been concealing his strength all this time?

That couldn’t be.

Our instincts as Elite Assassin Goblins are exceptionally sharp, far superior to ordinary goblins.

Even if the opponent was concealing their strength, we would have sensed it.

The only strong presence we detected in this team was the lone one.

In the eyes of the goblins, Yang Yu’s abilities were only mediocre at best within this team, and his attack power was exceedingly weak, akin to a walking sandbag, not worth mentioning at all.

Nevertheless, they found it impossible to accept this reality, trying as best as they could to convince themselves.

That’s right, this kid just got extremely lucky.

He was merely swinging wildly, and it happened to bring down that goblin.

The Elite Assassin Goblins almost simultaneously reached this conclusion.

It was only this kind of conclusion that could convince them, and at the moment they successfully reassured themselves, they exposed their weaknesses.

Andro seized the opportunity, clamping the heads of two goblins between his thighs and snapping their necks while other adventurers also struck heavy blows on the Elite Assassin Goblins.

The situation reversed in an instant, and before long, each Elite Assassin Goblin fell one by one, unable to rise again.

After this battle, Andro regarded Yang Yu even more highly, secretly marveling, “This young man is extraordinary.

Has he been guarding against this kind of situation by staying at the back of the team the whole time?”

Sekamens was utterly astounded, equally full of admiration.

“Who exactly is he, to have predicted this step?

Has he vaguely calculated that the enemy would send assassins to kill us?

Just now, his way of fighting was done with ease; he took hits and immediately counterattacked.

Such awareness is not something ordinary people can achieve.

If it were me, I would definitely be overwhelmed and unable to find an opportunity to retaliate, but he showed no hesitation whatsoever.”

Looking at the corpses of Elite Assassin Goblins strewn across the ground, Yang Yu was just deeply saddened.

How could you NPCs be so dependable?

How come, in the blink of an eye, not a single Elite Goblin is left?

Killing one Elite Assassin Goblin greatly boosted the Experience Bar, and Yang Yu thought that killing one or two more would solidly advance him to Level 20.

However, in the blink of an eye, all the lively Experience Values around him had disappeared, despite him having activated “Sudden Killing Intent,” planning to use his speed to wreak havoc.

Now, he could only stare blankly, waiting for the Skill’s effects to wear off.

The commotion quickly subsided, and the Rescue Team regained calm thanks, to Yang Yu’s timely reaction, resulting in fewer injuries than expected, though there were still fatalities.

But time wouldn’t allow them to grieve excessively or turn back.

The moment they stepped into the forest, all possible retreats had been cut off.

Even with possible rescue, no one knew when it might arrive.

Given the opponents’ swift actions, by the time the rescue team arrived, they would have likely become fertilizer for the forest.

Instead of regretting, they decided to think about how to defeat the hidden boss deep in the forest and seize a path to survival.

After Andro delivered a lengthy motivational speech, the entire team regrouped and set out again.

The closer they got to the Goblin headquarters, the more tense everyone became, yet no one backed down.

Occasionally, goblin squads would attack, but they alone couldn’t stop this team, brimming with fierce battle spirit.

“Report, the area ahead is full of magical surveillance spots; we took a roundabout path and found no way around,” a few Magicians, after thoroughly scouting the dense forest, concluded.

These Magic-Powered eyes were extremely tiny, detectable only through careful exploration.

If previously they had detected merely a small boat floating in a vast ocean, now they had detected dense schools of sardines.

Several Magicians with claustrophobia, upon detecting them, immediately rolled their eyes and fainted.

This area was tightly monitored; any passage would be instantly discovered.

Andro planned to go straight through, but Yang Yu grabbed him and whispered in his ear, urging him to destroy these eyes as they progressed.

“Destroy them, tell them, ‘We are coming!’ Everyone, get ready for battle,” declared Andro, flexing his robust muscles.

His spirited demeanor greatly inspired the Rescue Team, tightly linking their fate with the world’s for the first time; they couldn’t afford to slack off at this crucial moment.

Yang Yu, along with the flow, took a deep breath.

After such a long journey, it was finally time to engage.

His Experience Bar at Level 19 was almost full.

Had it not been for NPCs frequently stealing kills along the way, he might have reached Level 25 by now.

At this point, he couldn’t seek to level up anymore.

Although he had discussed with Andro about sparring and quickly surrendering, Andro thought Yang Yu wanted to test his own strength, and as a result, asked Yang Yu to stand still when they got back home.

No choice, the matter of leveling up was dropped.

Now, they were about to engage in the Boss fight.

Honestly, the difference between Level 19 and Level 20 wasn’t significant.

He had already decided to attack based on the situation, avoiding involvement in the clashes between ordinary adventurers and the Goblin armies.

Partly because the ordinary adventurers were too aggressive in stealing kills, fighting minor enemies was thankless work.

Moreover, according to the System’s nature, if his team didn’t defeat the Boss, he likely wouldn’t even get a share of the spoils.

Therefore, he naturally needed to conserve a great deal of stamina to deal with the boss and complete the Legendary Task of “Origin Conquest.”

Even if he couldn’t complete it, he had prepared an escape plan, having the Rescue Team exert some effort to destroy the eyes on the trees, precisely to prepare for this.
