Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

7: Chapter 7 You Big Liar 7: Chapter 7 You Big Liar Years of gaming experience told Yang Yu that a Royal Slime wouldn’t just show up in Newbie Village and hang around with Low-level Slimes for no reason.

This slime must be hiding some unspeakable secrets, perhaps a shocking conspiracy unfolding within the Slime Kingdom, where the legitimate Slime Prince had suffered persecution from an uncle coveting the throne and had fled the Kingdom.

Looking at the slime handing over a “Good Person Card” contract that read, “You look pretty decent, travel with me!”, Yang Yu’s mind automatically generated a million-word epic of the Slime Prince’s quest for revenge.

Normally, the task of helping a distressed prince reclaim his kingdom would be given to heroes in the middle stages of the game, but unexpectedly, I snagged it early.

Adventuring with this Slime Prince was like taking out an insurance policy on the early strategies of the game.

As his weary body regained a bit of stamina, Yang Yu reached out without hesitation to touch the contract array created by the slime.

“Ptui—”

Just as he touched the Contract Array, a dull pain throbbed in his chest, and a gush of blood sprayed onto the array.

Special patterns formed and rapidly eroded the Array, waves of fluctuations spreading out, causing cracks to appear in the Array’s lines, like the surface of a frozen lake that seemed on the verge of shattering, unstable and trembling.

He Meng shook its jelly-like body frantically, at a loss as to what to do, and as the entire Array was about to shatter, it made up its mind, shrank its body, and then with a leap, its light blue form slammed into the center of the Contract Array.

The patterning in the Array stopped cracking and began to heal back to its original state, a burst of red light flashed, and within the Contract Array, two red rings, one large and one small, were formed.

The smaller red ring encircled He Meng, and in an instant, its jelly-like body began to boil violently like boiling water.

As the red ring tightened and finally merged completely into its body, He Meng deflated like a punctured ball and fell from mid-air, collapsing limply on the ground, motionless.

The larger red ring passed through Yang Yu’s hand and tightened quietly before disappearing into his wrist.

[You have gained a secondary profession: Monster Tamer]

Suddenly, the system’s notification sound caught Yang Yu’s attention, raised his eyebrows, and revived his spirit as he quickly stuffed a handful of herbs into his mouth.

Upon opening his panel, next to Herb Master was a new entry, Monster Tamer.

A tap upon it brought up a flashy interface filled with clovers, just like most pet system interfaces in games, displaying the slime’s attributes and skills.

Narrowing his eyes, Yang Yu was smug with satisfaction; even if things deviated from the plan, in the last moment, he had relied on his years of gaming experience to pull off a reversal and acquired a powerful character.

“So, your name is He Meng, and I’m Yang Yu.

You actually went through with changing the contract despite getting hurt, not a bad eye at all.

Stick with me, and you can definitely become the strongest Slime in the world!”

Actually, He Meng really just wanted to form a simple friendly contract, but didn’t expect that Yang Yu would spit blood onto the Contract Array, causing an abnormal change.

Yang Yu’s hand had already touched the Array, and forcibly ending the contract would only backfire on both parties.

Not only was Yang Yu, who was barely clinging to life, unable to escape, but it too would be caught up in it.

Having no other choice, He Meng had to forcibly change the contract, and let the contractual process continue.

As a result, the two of them formed the highest-level Blood Contract, and it became the subservient party.

Even though it had tried so hard to save someone, even going so far as to change the contents of the contract, this guy looked excited after it was over, as if to say, “Wow, it’s a Blood Contract, could it be this little one fancied my handsome looks and longed for my beauty, therefore willingly becoming my servant?”

“Ghost Talent would want to be your servant!

I don’t care, I don’t care, I admit I got too emotional this time, I shouldn’t have saved you.

Hmph—anyways, you don’t have much blood left, just by taking your dog life, I could regain my freedom!”

He Meng leaped up and lunged at Yang Yu with all the force it could muster, but Yang Yu caught He Meng steadily, not at all like someone who was too wounded to get up.

“How is this possible, with these injuries, you couldn’t possibly have this kind of strength…” He Meng incredulously widened its imperceptible eyes, “Could it be that from the start, I was deceived?”

“You’re in such a hurry to fall into my arms.”

“I am not falling into your arms, let me go at once, you liar, you cheater!

I’ll tear you apart!” He Meng struggled violently, but due to the backlash from forcibly rewriting the contract, it couldn’t muster any strength.

“Don’t worry, I always keep my word.

Let’s both become stronger together and stand at the top of the world!”

The jelly-like touch was gently patting on his hand, making Yang Yu feel ticklish, thinking it was some sort of Slime’s way of greeting.

Upon closely reviewing He Meng’s panel again, he noticed a little progress bar at the bottom, which shockingly read: Favorability: -20.

Why is the favorability negative?

Was it because I didn’t withstand its attack, or because I suddenly launched an attack on it, causing a drop in its favorability.

Regardless of the reason, the fact that favorability is negative feels a bit ominous.

What if it throws a wrench in my plans at a crucial moment?

Wouldn’t I be screwed?

How can I increase its favorability?

Right, slimes like to eat Clover.

If it saw an endless supply of Clovers that it could use for a lifetime, what kind of expression would it make?

With a flash of inspiration, the corners of Yang Yu’s mouth crazily turned upward, not caring about his clothes covered in blood, he made a beeline for the grass garden.

He Meng was quite dissatisfied with Yang Yu’s unilateral decision to take it home, but the dissatisfaction from one moment quickly dissipated into nothingness the next.

Yang Yu opened the insect-proof net, and a sweet scent flooded in, with bees dancing among the white blossoms.

“How is this possible?

Why are there so many Clovers here…” He Meng became flustered, as it had never seen so many Clovers before.

Placing He Meng on top of the beehive, Yang Yu squatted down, dug a small hole, broke off a Clover, and buried the stem in the hole, covering it with some soil.

“Clover Cultivation.”

A faint light emitted from his hand, and a lush sapling sprouted, growing at a visible speed with branches spreading and leaves unfurling, then, like the surrounding Clovers, it bloomed with beautiful flowers.

“Such a high-class food source actually grew out instantly?

Is this guy an angel…

no, a god!” He Meng’s worldview had changed.
