Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

14: Chapter 14 The NPC Stole the Monster 14: Chapter 14 The NPC Stole the Monster Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Yang Yu cleared his throat and bellowed, “These green-skinned creatures, why do they have to be so ugly?

It’s one thing to be ugly, but why are they also so weak, always picking fights by outnumbering their opponents?

Even then, they can’t necessarily beat us.”

Although the goblins couldn’t understand what Yang Yu was saying, as soon as they saw his arrogant expression, as if asking to be punched, they couldn’t suppress their urge and, one by one, they burst forth, wielding stone axes and charging towards Yang Yu.

“Bring it on!

Aim right for my face, here!”

Yang Yu remained calm and lifted his shield while he drew his sword and gently instructed Bai Jin, who stood behind him.

“First, use the ‘Ice Cone Skill,’ then ‘Black Thunder Surge.’ I’ll hold them off and gather their hatred.”

“But ‘Black Thunder Surge’ doesn’t discriminate between friend and foe; you will be caught in it as well.”

“No problem, just do as I say!”

Yang Yu’s steps toward the enemy were extremely steadfast.

Bai Jin could tell he was serious and without further hesitation, she grasped her magic wand and began chanting a spell.

An array emanating a chilling intent formed in front of her, releasing a pouring blizzard.

The biting cold instantly froze the goblins’ joints, making their movements sluggish.

Yang Yu seized the opportunity to gather the goblins using his shield and cleaving attacks to strike back and forth, landing ‘Horizontal Slash’ on their faces and dealing hefty AOE damage.

As the spell of ‘Black Thunder Surge’ was completed, Bai Jin bit her lip, hoisted her magic wand over her head, and the out-of-place black clouds covered the sky amidst the clear day.

Pitch-black lightning struck down, exploding among the goblins.

The goblin’s levels ranged between 8 to 13; their attributes weren’t high, but their endurance was decent.

After taking hits from Black Thunder Surge, the blizzard, and several of Yang Yu’s Horizontal Slashes, only a very few had fallen.

Bathed in the black lightning from above, Yang Yu calmly allocated all his attribute points into endurance.

He felt a tingling sensation throughout his body as his blood bar turned red, and a smile flickered across his lips—all of the goblins’ blood bars were bottoming out.

“Sudden Killing Intent”

Suffering 30% damage awakened the killing intent within, resulting in a 30% increase in speed for 6 seconds.

For every additional 20% damage taken, the speed increase rose by 5%, and the duration extended by 1 second.

The lower the health, the stronger the effect of “Sudden Killing Intent.” Whether for last-hitting at low health or escaping, it was a divine skill.

Now, with Yang Yu’s health below 30%, he gained a 40% speed increase for a duration of 8 seconds.

These 8 seconds were more than enough for Yang Yu to land the killing blows, not leaving a single goblin in armor.

His eyes radiated red light, and Yang Yu moved swiftly as a swallow, weaving through the goblins.

The goblins were at first startled by the sudden lightning strike and were then ferociously slaughtered by the fearless Yang Yu, each one filled with dread.

These two were trouble; they had to rush back and inform their leader.

Only their leader would know how to deal with them.

Numerous goblins turned tail to run, but Yang Yu mercilessly smashed them in the face with his shield and wielded his sword without compassion, becoming an unrelenting reaper of leeks.

His movements were without waste; he evaded every incoming attack with ease, and for those he couldn’t dodge, he took them head-on without hesitation, even going so far as to move his face closer to reduce the error in his movements.

“He doesn’t seem like someone who’s just started out as an adventurer.”

After using consecutive AOE skills, the frail Bai Jin’s physical strength was rapidly depleting, yet she still raised her hand to follow up with killing blows as much as she could.

However, Yang Yu’s smooth movements gave her the illusion that she was completely unnecessary.

“Holy Radiance Piercing Spear”

Suddenly, a streak of light flashed across the sky.

A holy white bird swooped down low, flapping its wings to engulf and devour all the goblins in front of Yang Yu.

The world before his eyes suddenly became empty, leaving Yang Yu stunned.

Where’s my Experience Bag?

They were all hopping around just a moment ago, and now they’re gone without a trace?

Why have I suddenly turned into a graveyard disco?

You deal with the Mixed Fish Monsters first, then the Elite Monsters, that’s common sense.

Finally getting rid of the small fry, only the juicy and delicious Elite Monster remained.

Just as Yang Yu planned to savor it, someone inexplicably stole the monster from him.

Even more tragic, he realized his Experience Bar hadn’t risen at all.

After all this time fighting, the fruits of his labor went to someone else.

Unable to contain his anger, Yang Yu looked toward the direction of the attack and saw four people strolling towards them.

Leading the group was a handsome guy with golden hair, holding a silver-white Long Spear with an imposing manner.

The sunlight filtered through the trees and shone brilliantly on his exquisitely expensive Armor.

Following him closely were a casually dressed man, a burly uncle with a huge Iron Wall, and a frail purple-haired girl.

Looking at the numbers displayed on the panel, Yang Yu had to admit to himself that he was jealous.

Even if his account smoothly reached their Levels, the attributes wouldn’t match up to theirs.

Jealous though he was, Yang Yu absolutely despised them from the bottom of his heart for monster stealing.

“I’m the captain of the Silver Wind Team, Sekamens.

You’re safe now.

With us here, no goblin will be able to harm you.” Sekamens walked up to Bai Jin and greeted her with a smile.

Bai Jin hurriedly lowered her head without saying a word.

She was the least skilled at dealing with these dazzlingly brilliant men.

The feeling of her every inner corner being illuminated yet not illuminated was very unpleasant.

Sekamens acted like he had done a great deed, and Yang Yu found it hard to hate him, almost as if Sekamens was the protagonist of this world.

Forget it, it’s not unheard of for an NPC to steal a monster.

The other party must have mistook us for being in danger before intervening—misguided goodwill.

There’s no need to hold a grudge against an NPC; better chalk this one up to bad luck!

Originally, Yang Yu planned to casually thank them and go back to regroup and restart his leveling, but before he could speak, a wave of Sectemon’s excessive criticism came.

“That warrior over there, you are the captain of this squad, right?

Do you realize that when faced with a pair of goblins, the best thing for a two-person team to do is run!

The town is not far from here, and as long as you run there, plenty of adventurers will help you.

Why do you insist on fighting?

It’s because you forced her to fight that you almost got wiped out.”

Oh boy, I was willing to let bygones be bygones for your well-intentioned blunder, but now you’ve decided to pick a fight with me.

Yang Yu narrowed his eyes.

What he disliked most were those who treated girls gently but turned fierce and judgmental toward men—such double standards are just too much.

It’s time to get confrontational.
