30: Chapter 30 Goblin King 30: Chapter 30 Goblin King In the room, Crystal Balls one after another lost their messages, and the Goblin King, who sat upon the throne, furrowed his brow.

It had been ten years since he unified the various tribes, and a long-lost sense of tension surged in his heart once again.

Although he was worshipped by the goblins, he knew well that he remained a frog in a well, with numerous threats looming over his reign.

Originally, he was just a common goblin, living in the forest and struggling with all his might.

Living like a wild beast was the norm for most goblins.

However, he did not think so, especially when he saw the adventurers wearing exquisite armor and actively hunting in the forest.

Why did they have such refined weapons?

Why could they wear such splendid armor?

Why could they freely kill prey and our clan members?

These questions constantly filled the young Goblin King’s heart until one day, he set a trap and switched from being the prey to the hunter.

Perhaps the adventurers were too foolish, or perhaps they were too relaxed after hunting their prey, but his first plan succeeded.

He not only obtained the prey from the hunters’ hands but also their equipment.

Although the equipment didn’t suit him, he still brought it back.

The goblin clan living in the cave saw him bring back food and without a word, came forward to devour it; sharing food was an established rule among goblins.

But this rule only applied to strong goblins; the old and the weak were only entitled to a bit of food that could barely satisfy their hunger.

Perhaps because a smart brain consumes a lot of energy, the young one was frequently hungry, and the little food he received was never enough to satisfy him.

Whenever he went to ask for more, he would be fiercely glared at by the aggressive eyes of the adult goblins.

Fearing those glares, he spent much of his childhood hungry.

Fortunately, he survived his childhood by using his intelligence to cooperate with his peers and to distinguish edible plants.

Now, facing his fellow goblins devouring food voraciously, he felt no fondness in his heart but rather filled with revulsion.

After that food-sharing incident, the adult goblins had grouped him among the strong, willing to share their spoils with him, but he simply viewed his kin like wild beasts.

He and they were no longer the same type of creature.

The Goblin King gave all the food he had obtained to the weak and young goblins, knowing well what kind of return such charity could bring.

Give a dog a bone and teach it, and it will give its life for you.

The Goblin King continued to use his intelligence to snatch food and resources from humans and even learned some knowledge and magic from them, gradually rising in stature within the goblin tribes.

However, conversely, his reputation in the Human World grew increasingly vile, and there were even missions specifically to investigate and hunt him.

It was also because of that mission that someone deliberately fell into his trap and set up an ambush.

He nearly died in the humans’ encirclement but, fortunately, he captured a Mage as a prisoner and managed to escape, albeit with injuries.

During that incident, one of his arms was almost completely shattered.

The fate of a crippled goblin in the Goblin Clan was something he was well aware of.

Even the wealthiest landlords had no surplus grain.

Not to mention, the humans’ large-scale forest sweep also related to him, and the deaths of many of his kin inevitably led to discontent within the race.

Going back, at best, he would be isolated to death; at worst, he would be torn alive into pieces.

Such was the cruel world of goblins.

He could only hide everywhere, surviving on the jerky he had prepared in advance.

Perhaps it was all destined.

While hiding, he discovered a cave.

It was originally the cave of Big Snake, but the snake had been vanquished a few days earlier, leaving only this empty, dark, damp, and mysterious refuge.

He hid there, and unexpectedly, his Magic Power resonated with a certain stone, instinctively compelling him to repeatedly strike the unremarkable stone.

One day, two days, three days…

he didn’t know how long it had been.

The stone shattered, revealing a red gemstone, dazzling and bright, its brilliant light visible even in the dim cave.

The gemstone seemed to have a magic power, urging him to swallow it.

Even with only a one-in-ten-thousand chance, Goblin King wanted to survive, so he swallowed the red gemstone.

A flood of ancient knowledge poured into his brain.

The gemstone was an ancient relic from the Ancient Goblin Empire.

In the distant past, goblins had their era of glory.

His newfound intelligence was not some strange mutation but an Ancestral Phenomenon, awakening the dormant royal bloodline within him.

From then on, his life trajectory changed drastically, and he, in a leap, became the Long Aotian among goblins.

He returned to his clan, overthrew the current Clan Leader with his formidable strength, and under the support of the other goblins, became the new Clan Leader.

He advanced their technology, strengthened the tribe’s power, and sequentially overthrew other myopic goblin tribes, rightfully becoming the Goblin King.

However, he never tampered with the Human force.

He knew humans were cunning and possessed vast knowledge.

He spent a long time accumulating strength.

Invading the Human World, guided by the relic, he found the legacy left by Goblin Emperor I, and he became the true Goblin Emperor II.

Thus, many years passed, and a few days ago, Goblin King reached a bottleneck, while the tribe was strong and well-supplied.

He believed the timing was ripe and initiated his long-concocted plan.

He first had his subordinates attack several villages to create the illusion of a goblin resurgence, luring adventurers into the forest.

Next, he sent the old, weak, sick, and disabled to make a sacrifice, creating yet another illusion that the resurging goblins were weak, attracting more people to hunt goblins.

Then, closing the net, he set new traps to harvest new adventurers.

But the plan, halfway through, took an unexpected turn.

A Giant Stone fell from the sky, and in a critical moment, the rescue team united and not only avoided being crushed but also detected the surveilling eyes he had spent six years laying out in the forest.

At this point, Goblin King had to admit he had underestimated humans.

Thus, he dispatched his carefully trained Goblin Assassination Squad, which had been enhanced with the Power of Gems.

Originally, he hadn’t wanted to deploy this elite force planned for invasion.

But now, with the situation far beyond expectations, he had no choice but to send out the Assassination Squad, risking the loss of this hard-formed team to eliminate those adventurers cleanly.

Yet, the plan once again encountered an unexpected mishap.

He could not afford another failure.

Goblin King pressed all the buttons on his chair, and in the room filled with Crystal Balls, dozens of goblins rushed in, all bowing and scraping before the Goblin King with absolute reverence.

“Our King!

What are your orders?”

“Everyone, listen!

Enter the highest level of readiness.

I will personally lead the battle.”
