Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 540: Chapter 177: Pitch-Black Shell_3

Every individual in the Hive Mind Network can barely contribute to Chen Ming’s Spiritual Power recovery efficiency.

But the feedback provided by all the insects within an Insect Nest, the size of a Mechanical Race city, has already increased Chen Ming’s Spiritual Power recovery rate by about 50%.

Moreover, it’s not just the boost in Spiritual Power; the Hive Mind Network connected to the entire Insect Nest has another almost ridiculous effect,

speeding up his thought processes.

Chen Ming understands exactly what this means.

This isn’t just thinking a bit faster or learning more quickly;

it’s an extremely significant amplification of his entire abilities.

It’s like his consciousness is operating all his body organs, including his brain, at 120% efficiency.

If a person’s total ability is boosted by 20%, overall, it doesn’t just enhance by 20%, which is clear to Chen Ming.

Therefore, Chen Ming is now accelerating his control over the Mechanical Race city.

There’s still a Hive Mind Network here waiting for him to develop.

However, his control progress over the Mechanical Race isn’t as ideal as he’d hoped.

Due to limitations from Chen Ming’s own ways of applying Spiritual Energy, and the efficiency of transporting the dormant ones by his robots.

Even after having the Insect Queen replace all insects in the whole Insect Nest,

the control progress of Mechanical Race within the city is only in the tens of percent.

Luckily, Chen Ming doesn’t plan to proceed with the next jump or establish the next temporary base so soon; otherwise, controlling the Mechanical Race would surely slow down his progress.

Eventually, when all of the Mechanical Race in the city are under his control,

the Hive Mind Network of Mechanical Race will surely provide more Spiritual Power for him and, most crucially, an increase in thought speed.

The combined effects of the Hive Mind Networks from both the Mechanical Race and Insect Race are beyond what Chen Ming dares to imagine.

Additionally, the increase in thought speed significantly affects his Spiritual Energy effects.

The most obvious change is that the number of cruisers Chen Ming can control has increased from three to four.

This is one of the benefits of controlling the Insect Race.

Now Chen Ming is increasingly curious about one thing: what exactly is his Spiritual Energy?

From controlling spaceships to controlling mechanics, from controlling mechanics to controlling biological spaceships,

and even now being able to directly control lifeforms, which are those of the Insect Race,

Chen Ming himself doesn’t quite understand this kind of Spiritual Energy.

But never mind.

As long as it’s beneficial, that’s all that matters.

Even though he initially encountered troubles, if the final result is good, then there’s no problem.

Just like before.

First, Dusk caused chaos, using him as a catalyst, attracting the attention from another dimension.

But in the end, it allowed him to acquire a special Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin and practical training in Spiritual Power.

Now, there’s even a dangerous Thorn Insect Race that escaped from the space station where he once awoke and is reproducing in space.

Yet this incident also allowed him to acquire the Mechanical Race city, understand the collective consciousness of the Mechanical Race, and passively established a cluster consciousness that can feedback Spiritual Power to him.

As well as the Insect Race itself, becoming part of the advantages he has gained.

As long as the result is good, some bad processes don’t matter much.

Even if Chen Ming isn’t clear about the exact effects his Spiritual Energy possesses, as long as he can grow stronger by relying on his Spiritual Energy, the specifics of the Spiritual Energy really don’t matter to him.

If anything, he actually hopes his Spiritual Energy will bring these unexpected special effects.

Of course, there do seem to be long-term adverse effects from those previous incidents.

The attention attracted by Dusk from another dimension will most likely lead the Empire to encounter situations similar to those of many years ago.

And the Insect Race Chen Ming is encountering now, if they continue to reproduce in space, it apparently poses a threat to the Empire.

Of course, should anyone bring up the Insect Race issue, Chen Ming certainly wouldn’t admit to it, as it ultimately traces back to the issue with the Star Zone Military, who first discovered these insects.

Thinking about the downsides of these two matters, Chen Ming unconsciously considers whether Spiritual Energy might also bring him some downsides.

Chen Ming believes it probably will.

But without Spiritual Energy, he would have died long ago on the Mining Space Station.

His life was snatched back thanks to Spiritual Energy, and he must bear all the downsides Spiritual Energy brings, no matter how severe.

Chen Ming confirms his thoughts in his heart, then shifts the problems he’s considering in his mind to future matters.

For the upcoming period, he probably won’t come out like this; he should stay at the temporary base and proceed according to the original plan step by step.

By relying on extreme-range jumps, gradually leading the Dusk army away from the Empire’s border.

However, Chen Ming doesn’t plan to take away too much of the Mechanical Race or the Insect Queen from the planet in the short term.

After all, the existence of the Mechanical Race city on the planet is concrete and real.

Although the city has lost its supply of resources and is already in decline, and there is substantial damage,

it is ultimately a city that has been built.

Many things Chen Ming needs are within the city.

Even if Chen Ming can’t understand the text, using the city doesn’t require understanding the writing of another civilization.

So until he finds a suitable location for his colony, this Mechanical Race city can completely serve as a temporary base, which requires the Mechanical Race to maintain the city.
