Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 523: Chapter 173: Arrangement of the Bait_2

Although Chen Ming felt it didn’t quite match, after a few more glances, its overall appearance seemed somewhat similar.

This giant organism seemed like what he had been searching for.

What surprised Chen Ming even more was:

From this giant organism of the Insect Race, some proliferous tissues were wrapping a special structure of the Insect Race, resembling a thick long tendril extending all the way from deep underground to the surface.

Chen Ming followed this tendril all the way up.

Finally, he discovered that near the surface, this extended tendril branched into thousands of thinner tendrils.

These were then connected beneath almost every solar panel that powers the Mechanical Race’s city.

Chen Ming watched this scene and pondered for a long time.

Suddenly, he understood one thing.

The Insect Race had the ability to convert electrical power into bioenergy.

No wonder when he previously went to ask Bai Quan for records, he found that when the Original Star Zone Military’s squad boarded the space station, the entire place was already empty, even the warehouses were cleared out.

Now it seemed this was the reason, and the Insect Race’s ability to convert electrical power made emptying the fuel warehouses a logical move.

Moreover, he suddenly understood.

Why, when he controlled the tower earlier, there seemed to be a gap in the city’s power supply.

He had previously thought it might be due to damaged power equipment.

Now it appeared that a group of entities had settled in the power supply core of the city; it was a wonder there wasn’t a power shortage.

Honestly, since those insects that once settled in the warm power generation section of the space station evolved the ability to convert electrical power into bioenergy,

it wouldn’t surprise Chen Ming if they evolved engines or something similar.

However, right now, although Chen Ming had located the Insect Race’s nest precisely,

the depth was significant.

Let alone digging down.

Just those solar panels above could cause a conflict between him and the Mechanical Race he hadn’t yet controlled.

The fight could certainly be won, but Chen Ming didn’t want to waste these Mechanical Race members in such a way.

He wanted to control them, turning them into his unique entities.

Not to mention the spiritual power feedback, the strength of the Mechanical Race itself was worth his effort.

However, if he continued to wait for the entire city’s Mechanical Race to be fully controlled,

the insects below would continue to proliferate for several more cycles, expanding the nest even further.

Due to the rapid breeding speed of the Insect Race, Chen Ming felt it was best not to delay.

Quickly dealing with the insects would be the best approach.

As for the specific method of dealing with them...

Chen Ming contemplated briefly.

Suddenly, he remembered he did have a method to make these insects, including the core Insect Queen, come out voluntarily from underground.

Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin.

Creatures have an instinctive tendency to pursue spiritual energy fluctuations, essentially an instinct to become spiritual creatures.

This was a piece of knowledge Chen Ming had learned from Little Stone.

Since he had Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin, Little Stone would hop onto his bed daily.

The newly purchased nest that resembled the stones that exploded with Iron Ore No., it didn’t want to live there, preferring to snuggle up to the dispersed spiritual energy fluctuations of the Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin.

Although Little Stone was very small and wouldn’t be disturbed by any snuggling,

Chen Ming was concerned about accidentally crushing Little Stone while sleeping, so he initially didn’t want it sleeping with him.

Until he later saw Little Stone dart around in the Supreme Point, voluntarily jump from over twenty meters high, bounce twice elastically, and continue wandering without a scratch.

He realized Little Stone was no longer an ordinary pebble, so he let it be thereafter.

Just like now.

Chen Ming had the Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin in his pocket.

Little Stone stayed there, clutching the Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin without letting go.

Of course, Little Stone was very smart and wouldn’t bite into something it wasn’t supposed to.

But the attraction this thing had for creatures was something Chen Ming clearly observed; it was markedly significant.

And also, Chen Ming recalled that the president mentioned a few ways to use Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin.

One method was what Chen Ming was currently using, serving as a spiritual power augmentation aid.

Another was to use it to gather Original Spiritual Stones.

The final way was to feed some creatures with it, which could almost guaranteedly transform them into spiritual creatures with some connection to a Psychic.

So if the Thorn Insect Race underground detected the spiritual energy fluctuations and the presence of Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin, they would undoubtedly swarm out ravenously to attempt obtaining it.

However, Chen Ming felt he should avoid using this unique Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin he currently had.

After all, entering the Consciousness Space still depended on it.

Even if he didn’t intend to feed it to the Insect Race, relying on spiritual power to connect to the Insect Race wasn’t on his agenda either.

He only had the intention of using it as bait.

He’d better be cautious.

Trying to use his own spiritual power to gather a second Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin to serve as bait.

Except for the materials needed for this thing...

Chen Ming found it difficult to explain and tricky to acquire.

The randomness of materials needed for Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin was indeed quite outrageous.

How many types of materials exist in this universe? The probability of simply guessing the right ones should be akin to zero.

But maybe he could change his approach?

Chen Ming took out his own colorless amber-like Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin, consolidated after the death of that distorted heart and purified under the influence of the Ship Spirit, serving as his Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin.
