Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 510: Chapter 170 The Tower

The situation with the Mechanical Race was something Chen Ming had already roughly understood.

However, in the past, he didn’t have many resources to freely download the research reports investigating the Mechanical Race, as these things cost money.

Back then, instead of spending money on those reports, Chen Ming would rather use it on himself and his spaceship.

Until now, during this period, he has finally been able to thoroughly browse these resources without any restrictions.

Soon, Chen Ming basically determined the function of the city that Refraction once discovered.

Let’s just say, when the image analysis yielded the result, he couldn’t help but be a bit shocked.

Based on the content written in several research reports.

The city discovered by Refraction was a stronghold used by the civilization that created the Mechanical Race to occupy this barren Star Realm, equivalent to an outpost on the border.

No, it can’t even be called an outpost; it’s more like they just planted a flag here, indicating they had been here.

The Empire’s current location is in a place that wouldn’t have been valued at its peak, which is why there are leftover Mechanical Races here.

As for those Mechanical Races engaged in battles with Dusk and the Empire nearby, they are remnants that developed and spread after that civilization was destroyed.

The research reports related to the Mechanical Race in Chen Ming’s possession all inevitably touch on that destroyed civilization.

So now, Chen Ming has a basic understanding of the Mechanical Race and that other destroyed civilization.

He knows almost all he should know, even if he was reluctant to spend too much effort learning. At least, he has some basic understanding.

However, the Empire’s current research into that civilization isn’t very deep.

It’s not about not researching; it’s that the civilization before its destruction was so technologically advanced it’s hard to fathom.

During their peak, humanity couldn’t even begin to compare.

Studying it, researching for a long time, only to find that the results are just scratching the surface.

So now, even though Chen Ming knows that city is just a marking flag, he still has to go see it. There’s still the possibility that there are relics of another civilization there.

After confirming these situations.

Chen Ming commanded three cruisers to set off.

The jump began.

In the blink of an eye, Chen Ming arrived at the predetermined position, on the edge of the star system where the planet with the Mechanical Race exists.

For safety’s sake, Chen Ming did not recklessly drive the three cruisers inward.

Instead, he stopped in place, and ordered Supreme Point to shut down all unnecessary systems.

He diverted almost all energy of the ship to fully power the star system level scanning core and the long-range precision sensor array located at the front of Supreme Point.

By adjusting a specific detection frequency, the scan targets could be locked onto metal and mechanical creations.

Especially with materials like White Cloud Steel, prevalent in the Mechanical Race, as long as they can be locked, the detection results would definitely be clearer.

After the high-power scanning continued for about ten minutes.

The star system scanning array shut down.

The scan results appeared in Chen Ming’s hands.

The scan result report had many detailed data that Chen Ming could not understand, but that was not important. He was already learning from a guide left by the designer of Supreme Point.

So far, he had learned enough; at least he could understand the results from his targeted scans just conducted.

The interior of the entire star system was almost problem-free, roughly aligned with Refraction’s previous rough investigation.

Only on the planet where the Mechanical Race had been discovered did they exist.

They were only on that planet, with no signs of expansion.

The other planets had minerals and metals, but nothing particularly valuable.

And that planet with the Mechanical Race, as per the actual scan results from just now.

The Mechanical Race was not spread across the planet; they were all concentrated in a Mechanical Race city located about thirty degrees north of the equator.

Since this habitable planet itself had no tilt and its habitable zone relative to Earth is nearer to a star larger than the Sun.

So the entire planet’s climate tends to be relatively hot, with minimal change, suggesting that the environment of the Mechanical Race city might be akin to a tropical rainforest.

Last time when Refraction came here, dense green vegetation-filled jungles were observed.

And the Mechanical Race city almost buried in the jungle.

Based on the recent scan by Supreme Point, the city had few areas exposed to the natural environment that could be scanned to reveal any active Mechanical Race units.

Chen Ming felt that the Mechanical Race here might be in a dormant state, seemingly stagnant in development, possibly inactive for hundreds or even thousands of years.

However, the scan conducted by Supreme Point was still a distant, broad scan, which might not be very accurate.

It still needed to get closer to verify.

But at least one point could be confirmed; Chen Ming did not detect any signals indicating large-scale activity on the planet.

This point should already explain a lot of things.

Chen Ming slightly adjusted the position of the three ships.

Positioning the Brilliant Level with the strongest firepower and maneuverability at the front, Supreme Point and Defender at the back, forming a triangular relative position to gradually approach the Mechanical Race’s planet.
