Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 533: Chapter 175 Neural Connection_4

After all, the Insect Queen had already been controlled by Chen Ming and calmed down.

Then, with the enemy gone, survival became its primary task.

Apart from those breeding pouches being reabsorbed, many corpses of the Insect Race, just sent in and killed by the Mechanical Race, were now being dragged to the rear of the Biological Spaceship by Worker Insects recently bred by the Insect Queen.

There, the Giant Storage Cavity and Rigid Digestion Pouch would eventually be reabsorbed.

However, Chen Ming’s target was not there. He confirmed using the 3D imaging on the Biomass Spaceship panel and then stepped towards the Pulsating Heart, the location of the Insect Queen.

The Pulsating Heart didn’t beat quickly, roughly once every five minutes, causing a roar that reverberated throughout the entire Biomass Spaceship.

This roar wasn’t particularly loud overall; rather, it was quite subdued, so once accustomed, you wouldn’t notice it unless you paid special attention.

Chen Ming quickly arrived near the Pulsating Heart, seeing that both the inside and outside of the heart and the Insect Queen within were heavily protected by the thick chitin of the Insect Race, almost the same as the exterior of the Biological Spaceship.

And the ugly Insect Queen inside the heart was emitting feelings of closeness towards him as the Hive Mind Core.

The Insect Queen under Chen Ming’s control, like those he controlled from the Mechanical Race, created a new Hive Mind Network centered around him, providing feedback of Spiritual Power.

Moreover, the two Hive Mind Networks were independent, not affecting each other at all.

Only, Chen Ming discovered a problem.

The Insect Race was indeed a hive mind. Using him as the core to establish a Hive Mind Network was correct, and providing a Spiritual Power boost through the hive mind network was also fine.

However, after controlling this Biological Spaceship, the insects connecting to the hive mind network centered around him were only the Insect Queen and those insects bred after the Insect Queen was controlled.

Those insects bred before the Insect Queen was controlled did not connect to Chen Ming’s thought network.

This also included those insects still on the planet underground.

This issue forced Chen Ming to pay attention.

He immediately observed those insects not in the hive consciousness.

They seemed to have no serious problems.

The Insect Race relied on not only the hive network but also pheromone exchange for communication.

The Insect Queen’s pheromones hadn’t changed, so these insects wouldn’t leave the Insect Queen’s control, they just wouldn’t provide Chen Ming with the hive network boost.

Thus, Chen Ming wasn’t worried anymore, having thought of a solution he could implement later when he had the time.

For some reason, Chen Ming instinctively reached out and touched the ugly head of the Insect Queen.

The Insect Queen’s chitin felt as smooth as it appeared when touched.

As long as one got used to its appearance, just touching it felt quite nice.

Suddenly, the chitin on the head of the Insect Queen opened up slightly, extending a thick white nerve, which stopped before Chen Ming.

Through the Hive Mind Network, Chen Ming immediately understood the Insect Queen’s intent.

This was a special way for the Insect Race to perform neural connections, allowing rapid information exchange.

Moreover, Chen Ming didn’t need to figure out how to extract his own nerves; as long as bioelectric signals were exchanged between them, the neural connection could proceed.

Chen Ming hesitated slightly, but the hesitation dissipated quickly.

This Biological Spaceship was already under his control, and his Spiritual Energy would surely ensure he was safe.

At the moment Chen Ming grasped the thick nerve, he seemed to transform into the consciousness of the Biological Spaceship.

Immediately, the consciousness of the Biological Spaceship communicated its intent to his mind: ”Eat eat eat eat eat eat eat eat...”

”?”

Chen Ming instinctively released the thick nerve from his grip.

Just now, his mind seemed to have encountered strange ideas.

Unsure, Chen Ming grasped the nerve again, and the Biological Spaceship’s consciousness transmitted again: ”Evolve evolve evolve evolve evolve evolve...”

”??”

Chen Ming released his hand again, communicating briefly with the Insect Queen via the Hive Mind Network before grasping it once more.

This time, everything was normal.

Chen Ming successfully accessed the memory stored within the Insect Queen’s brain, retrieving its contents.

At this moment, Chen Ming felt like he had returned to over half a year ago, back when he was still at the abandoned Mining Space Station.

No, even earlier.

It was when the Thorn Insect Race was deployed at the Mining Space Station.
