Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 528: Chapter 174 Biomass Spaceship_3

It also made Chen Ming realize that the limits of transformation were beyond what he currently knew.

Chen Ming reached out and touched what seemed to be the head of the ship spirit’s phantom, feeling unconsciously happy inside.

It was precisely with the help of the ship spirit that he was able to complete the gathering of the spiritual energy origin despite the mismatch of materials.

And also know the direction of the future development of spiritual abilities.

Everyone is happy to come.

The ship spirit sensed Chen Ming’s joy, and seemed to be infected by his emotions, retreating into the Supreme Point with the same happiness and a bit of its own pride.

The second piece of gathered spiritual energy origin was in hand, the bait was prepared, but Chen Ming still couldn’t act immediately.

He still needed to wait for his spiritual power to recover.

So for the rest of today, he continued his work over by the Mechanical Race city, just like yesterday.

A new day arrived.

Chen Ming’s spiritual power had returned to its peak once again.

It was time to start setting up the trap to lure out the Insect Race.

The setup method was actually quite simple.

Just one spiritual creature would definitely attract the attention of the Insect Race.

Of course, not a small stone, but something else.

Chen Ming had already prepared for this.

But before starting to set up the trap, he still had to provide a safeguard for the precious bait.

Chen Ming knocked on the wall of the Supreme Point, and the ship spirit poked its head out from the wall.

Seeing the puzzled ship spirit in front of him, Chen Ming suddenly realized that it seemed to have become more solid recently.

Although its shape was still a phantom and not specifically defined yet, the opacity of the phantom was increasingly high, and it should soon become completely opaque.

This should not be a bad thing for the ship spirit.

Chen Ming took out his second piece of gathered spiritual energy origin, tapped it lightly, and said, ”Come, go in, help me protect it, don’t let it get absorbed by anything else.”

The ship spirit naturally wouldn’t refuse Chen Ming’s request and obediently dove inside.

With the ship spirit’s protection, Chen Ming wouldn’t need to be too worried about the situation with the gathered spiritual energy origin afterwards.

Next was the final step in preparing the trap.

Chen Ming needed to feed this thing to a flying creature.

As for what exactly to feed it to.

When scanning the planet with the Supreme Point earlier, Chen Ming had detected a variant of void jellyfish.

One could say that void jellyfish were quite special creatures.

Because they possessed the ability to travel in space.

Especially the older individuals.

Void jellyfish would gradually grow larger in size as they aged.

The gas within their bodies would become lighter, their body tissues thinner, but the strength of their body tissues would increase.

They could actively eject a violent airflow that could propel them to exceed second or even third cosmic speed.

These void jellyfish would land on other planets and then die.

Upon death, they would leave behind void jellyfish eggs to breed the next generation of void jellyfish, using their gel-like bodies to provide nourishment during the period when the newborn void jellyfish couldn’t yet float.

So traces of them often existed even on planets humans had never visited.

Furthermore, they were actually not very harmful, as long as they weren’t exposed to fire, they posed almost no threat,

and their survival did not require consuming much material, the material composing their body tissues was also very easily degradable, hardly impacting the ecosystem.

If the number of void jellyfish was sufficient, they could even promote air purification within the ecosystem.

If it weren’t for their nature of exploding upon encountering fire, Chen Ming should be able to see them in many colonies or space stations.

Additionally, when browsing through various websites, Chen Ming had seen research reports of some biotechnology companies attempting to genetically modify void jellyfish.

Aiming to remove their ability to explode while retaining their air purification abilities.

Though the progress seemed not very promising, and it had nothing to do with Chen Ming.

As someone studying spaceship technology, he wouldn’t likely need to use biological technologies in this lifetime, probably.

Anyway, after having this basic knowledge of void jellyfish and detecting the group of void jellyfish with the Supreme Point.

Chen Ming already had a complete idea in his mind.

He wanted to let an elderly void jellyfish swallow the gathered spiritual energy origin that hosted the ship spirit, letting it emit the spiritual energy fluctuation that the insect swarm had felt several times before, attracting the Insect Race to space.

Of course, not all elderly void jellyfish would choose to enter space, some would wait for death on the planet.

But the void jellyfish Chen Ming had was caught just when it was about to enter space.

So Chen Ming didn’t need to worry about the void jellyfish disappearing.

Of course, the gathered spiritual energy origin itself must still be well-protected by the ship spirit, it couldn’t really be taken by the insects, nor could it be absorbed by the void jellyfish too much.

All preparations had been completed.

So Chen Ming didn’t waste any more time and directly began executing his plan.

Utilizing the lifestyle habit of void jellyfish passing over areas inhabited by the Insect Race wasn’t difficult at all.

Next, if the insects wanted to capture the void jellyfish, they must send out something that could fly.

Chen Ming wanted to see exactly how these insects flew.

At this moment, Chen Ming was seated at his desk in the study.

Holding his spiritual weapon, known as Ming, in his hand.

Over the past two days, he had taken time to compress the Stone of Chaotic Words to the appropriate size and embedded it into the spiritual weapon.
