Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 532: Chapter 175: Neural Connection_3

This extreme composition makes it impossible for the Insect Queen to appear attractive.

Yet it is this appearance that satisfies all of the Insect Queen’s needs and everything it needs to do.

Outside the Insect Queen is the [Insect Queen’s Host Cavity], protected within the myocardial tissue of the [Pulsating Heart] of this Biomass Spaceship.

It’s arguably the safest place on the entire Biological Spaceship.

Beyond the heart is various organizational structures that maintain the normal survival of the Biomass Spaceship.

Including the [Aggregated Neural Central Node], which functions similarly to a control panel, and the [Neural Circuit Network], similar to the various circuits inside Chen Ming’s spaceship.

Providing the entire spaceship with an internal biological circulation including blood and other biological fluids is the [Body Fluid Circulation Organ Network].

Additionally, there’s the most crucial part extending from the Pulsating Heart that connects the entire Biological Spaceship, known as the ”vertebral nerve” or [Biomass Main Stem].

Aside from these, various other biological cavities, such as the [Giant Storage Cavity] which can store all kinds of nutrients, biomass, and captured food, are distributed around the Biomass Main Stem.

Like those tendrils Chen Ming saw earlier, extending out of the Biomass Spaceship.

These are called [Lax Muscle Bundles], which are some tissues differentiated from the end of the Biomass Main Stem.

Usually, they are retracted within the shell, but can extend out when necessary, like when it was about to capture the air jellyfish just now.

However, the more critical function of the lax muscle bundles is not this.

The surface of these muscles has many tiny pores.

They can dissipate the heat produced when the Biomass Spaceship uses the [Rigid Digestion Pouch] to digest various fuels and convert the fuel into bioenergy through these muscular bundles.

Dissipation is their primary function.

Although the efficiency of heat dissipation in space is not high, it’s better than nothing.

Outside these internal structures and cavities is the tough and solid Insect Race muscle tissue, and the exoskeleton that protects the muscle tissue within.

Alongside the muscle tissue, hidden under the exoskeleton, are biological weapons [Acidic Spray Sacs].

Moreover, there’s something special that Chen Ming feels should also be classified as a biological weapon.

It is the very unique cavity called [Insect Egg Cultivation Chamber], distributed not only within the ship but also along the sides of the Biological Spaceship.

Inside the cavity, there are hundreds of neatly arranged Insect Egg Cultivation Pouches, each containing a semi-mature insect, which can gain some combat power with a bit more nurturing.

These things... seem to belong to the fighter craft of the Insect Race.

It seems to be something like that.

Chen Ming thought about it and found it quite reasonable.

After all, the Insect Race does not seem to have evolved any powerful biological weapons yet, only pure acid.

Although acid’s effect is quite good enough to corrode Sky Steel, the nature of acid itself determines it’s not that effective, as its projectile speed in space might even be slower than many civilian weapons.

So they simply combined biological weapons with biological fighter craft.

As long as the Insect Race, nurtured by the Insect Queen, can get close to the enemy spaceship, the slow speed issue of the acid weapon is resolved.

They can even directly use the acid to corrode the spacecraft’s armor, achieving a boarding effect.

With an extremely fast breeding rate, decent melee capability, and no fear of death, the Insect Race seems more powerful than robots in boarding operations.

Just that Chen Ming remembered that at the beginning of the Supreme Point’s scan of the Biomass Spaceship, there didn’t seem to be these insects.

It seems that after the Biological Spaceship was captured and lost its resistance capability, the Insect Queen forcibly consumed most of the biomass to cultivate these results.

Yet before it had time to release these ”Insect Fighter Craft,” the entire Biomass Spaceship was controlled by Chen Ming.

In short, these things together from the inside out made up everything about this Biomass Spaceship.

As Chen Ming controlled the Biological Spaceship, learning about it through the panel, he slowly walked around it.

Although this Biological Spaceship is inferior to ordinary military destroyers, its potential is something any other spaceship finds hard to match.

In addition, Chen Ming discovered a spiral muscular structure each forming a door leading into the spaceship, hidden beneath the Insect Race armor on the side and back of the Biological Spaceship.

If Chen Ming guessed correctly, it should be a door composed of structures similar to sphincter-like muscle tissues.

Thus, Chen Ming decisively abandoned attempting to enter through the Biological Spaceship’s rear sphincteral door, choosing instead to enter from the side.

He anticipated this scene could occur the moment he realized that the Insect Race possessed a Biomass Spaceship.

Therefore, he had already adjusted his mindset, and when he walked through the sphincteral door into the Biological Spaceship, he wasn’t affected at all.

Anyway, he had already experienced Sky Steel refined from empty fish excrement earlier, so a sphincteral door wasn’t a big deal either.

Upon entering the cavity of the Insect Race, Chen Ming could see the surroundings filled with a large number of Insect Egg Cultivation Pouches that the Insect Queen urgently nurtured when cornered.

Many adult insects wrapped in pouches were suspended there, each serving different purposes like combat, transportation, nurturing, maintenance, etc.

But now, they all had a single function, to be reabsorbed by the Insect Queen and reconverted into biomass to sustain the Biological Spaceship’s survival.
