Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 506: Chapter 169: Fan Chao, Extraordinary

Upon seeing the four gleaming words ”Elite Entity”.

Chen Ming immediately called Bai Quan.

Bai Quan took a moment before answering, asking, ”What’s up? Did something go wrong with the fleet I sent over?”

Chen Ming glanced at the words on the panel again and said, ”No, everything’s going smoothly on my end.”

”I just wanted to ask, where did you get that Alpha Dusk core you gave me earlier?”

Bai Quan instantly understood why Chen Ming was making this call and replied, ”It was on the main ship, taken from the one I dismantled when I was promoted to Major General, and I’ve kept it ever since.”

This made Chen Ming instinctively ask, ”They didn’t confiscate it from you?”

Bai Quan explained, ”All battle-type Alpha-level Dusks, especially those capable of controlling main ships, we’ve captured quite a few over the years of fighting them.”

”But even when captured, none of these Dusks would surrender, and of course, they wouldn’t commit suicide either, just willingly enter a dormant state.”

”Even if you wake it up, it would simply go back to sleep, not conflicting with you, nor cooperating.”

”So battle-type Alpha-level Dusk cores aren’t all that important.”

”They don’t really need this one for research, so I kept it as a memento, and others were happy to give me that courtesy.”

”When you asked me for an Alpha core earlier, I thought your abilities might be able to control it, so I gave this one to you.”

”If there’s a problem, I can replace it for you?”

”No need, thanks; I’ve got something to do now. Let’s talk later.”

Chen Ming was satisfied with the answer, thanked Bai Quan, and then hung up the phone.

Leaving Bai Quan in thought.

Pondering the significance of Chen Ming’s call.

Bai Quan was sure Chen Ming called suddenly because he confirmed the uniqueness of the core he had given him.

An Alpha-level Dusk core capable of controlling a main ship must distinctly differ from other ordinary Alpha-level cores.

There’s even a possibility Chen Ming used Spiritual Energy to get this core to reveal its uniqueness.

And that means that even without his command training in the future, Chen Ming would have an Alpha-level Dusk capable of controlling the main ship to guide him and even assist him in battle.

Bai Quan personally took down that Alpha-level Dusk’s main ship, fully aware of that Dusk’s abilities.

At least in the past, that Dusk was definitely stronger than him. He had used some clever methods to achieve victory.

Even though he’s improved over the years, at most, he’s only slightly stronger than that Alpha Dusk now, without any clear advantage.

Initially, Bai Quan just thought that since Chen Ming needed an Alpha core, he might as well give him one that he happened to have.

Unexpectedly, the thing he gave away would later become a competitor.

That won’t do.

Chen Ming is currently out exploring, and for a long time, they shouldn’t have opportunities to interact much.

The only chance will be when he delivers the Cruiser and Enlightenment Nerve, as well as with the command teaching.

Bai Quan can’t let the Dusk core interfere with the one thing that keeps him in long-term contact with Chen Ming.

He absolutely cannot let his relationship with Chen Ming fade like this.

Looks like he needs to personally handle this matter.

At this moment, Chen Ming looked at the panel again with slight excitement.

He suddenly noticed that besides the core enhancement, there was also a change in computational power.

This Alpha core’s computational power had shifted from the Star System Level to the Star Zone Level.

Previously, it had probably reached the limit of Star System Level computational power.

Then, with the assistance provided by Chen Ming, it boosted to Star Zone Level.

Brilliant had mentioned before that besides providing the core enhancement, Chen Ming would receive a slight overall computational power enhancement.

This enhancement is fairly esoteric and quite unique.

According to Brilliant, this effect strengthens over time.

It seems the longer Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy influences it, the more overall enhancement it receives.

Although the degree of this change isn’t linear, this hypothesis doesn’t hold much ground, but it’s a fairly reasonable assumption.

At first, Brilliant received an enhancement of about 3% to 4%, but over time, it now enjoys around a 9% computational power increase.

And Chen Ming also asked a few other Alpha-level Dusks he controlled; Radiant is at 7%, Little 2, who’s in charge of research, is at 5%, and Flicker, who escaped from under the main ship, is at 3%, very esoteric numbers.

Chen Ming didn’t know what this situation was.

After all, theoretically, Flicker should have obtained a greater enhancement than Little 2.

But anyway, the enhancement is definitely there.

The Alpha core in Chen Ming’s possession likely relied on this enhancement to elevate its computational power to the Star Zone Level.

This was also why Chen Ming didn’t notice the core’s distinction from other Alpha cores on the panel earlier.

Whether an Alpha core can control a main ship and is considered an elite entity might depend on whether it has reached the Star System Level’s limit.

It can only be considered an unexpected gain.

Bai Quan’s gift was truly reliable.
