Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 524: Chapter 173: Bait Arrangement_3

His Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin possessed a colorless, amber-like appearance...

Coincidentally, Chen Ming knew of several materials with such a colorless, amber appearance.

Perhaps the materials he needed to gather the Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin were precisely this kind of colorless amber?

Although even Chen Ming felt that this idea was somewhat unreliable.

But there’s no harm in trying.

Chen Ming immediately called Old Wu to ask him to buy these materials for experimentation.

Of course, Chen Ming clearly remembered what the president said before, that gathering a second Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin might cause problems.

So, in subsequent attempts, if he experienced any negative impact on his Spiritual Power, he would stop immediately.

To prevent any accidents.

But if no issues arose, the second Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin would definitely be a great asset.

Having finalized a rough plan,

now Chen Ming needed to first use the Spiritual Energy Fluctuation of this special Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin in his possession to release some basic, illusory baits of Spiritual Energy Fluctuation on the planet’s surface.

To divert the attention of the Insect Race to the surface.

This way, the next time he really released the Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin, he could ensure the Insect Race noticed it immediately.

The method of releasing the bait was very simple.

He just needed a flying mechanical body to carry the Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin outside and wander around a couple of times.

The scattered Spiritual Energy Fluctuation would linger in the external environment for a while before dissipating.

This period would be enough for the Insect Race, which had detected his spaceship in a vacuum before, to notice these Spiritual Energy Fluctuations.

Chen Ming quickly followed his idea and executed the operation of leaving Spiritual Energy Fluctuations near the surface aligned with the Insect Nest.

Next, he just needed to wait for the materials to arrive and attempt to gather a second Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin.

Success would be ideal.

If it failed, he would have to take the certain risk of using the special Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin.

Though risky, the potential reward was significant.

Chen Ming could steadily take control of the remaining Mechanical Race at his leisure.

There might even be some additional, unique gains.

Moreover, as long as he prepared risk mitigation strategies in advance, the risk would not be a risk anymore.

The risk posed by the Insect Race, which Chen Ming had scanned thoroughly from head to toe, was clearly identifiable.

So as long as he prepared well, even if he failed, it would merely be a waste of resources needed for risk management.

Now, the only thing to be cautious of, was that Chen Ming must definitely avoid alarming the enemy prematurely.

If his Cruiser scared off the insects below, it would be a tremendous loss for him.

So, after arranging everything needed on the planet, Chen Ming left with two Cruisers.

Returning to orbit.

Now, it was more or less time to rest.

From the beginning, when Chen Ming ruled out robots infiltrating the city, had them running around collecting all sorts of intelligence, and even had the Supreme Point enter the atmosphere for investigation, it consumed a lot of time.

By now, it was near evening, and it would be better to deal with the remaining matters tomorrow, as the materials couldn’t be delivered so quickly anyway.

Before finally resting, however, Chen Ming directed his consciousness onto the Defender.

In the Defender’s warehouse, there was a damaged satellite he had previously taken from orbit.

When he realized the tower was continuously trying to send messages to this satellite, he had a special idea.

Chen Ming activated Spiritual Energy to repair the satellite completely.

Then, he used the tower, which was still under his control, to send the signal the tower had been repeatedly transmitting to the Defender.

The freshly repaired satellite in the Defender’s warehouse received the signal.

After a short pause, it emitted a new signal toward a specific coordinate in the far-off depths of space.

Of course, Chen Ming intercepted the signal emitted by the satellite, but he recorded the coordinates of its target destination.

And those coordinates just so happened to lie in the direction Chen Ming intended to expand toward for colony development later on.

It would be reachable after approximately thirteen extreme-distance jumps.

A place able to receive a signal linked to what was likely a frontier city of the Mechanical Race was very likely to hold valuable assets.

Or it could be said, that place itself might be of high value.

If there was an opportunity later, he had to check it out.

Chen Ming turned off the signal transmitters on the satellite and the tower.

By now, he felt some fatigue, so after a brief rinse, he lay down on the bed.

To be honest, he never expected that his trip to this Mechanical Race-inhabited planet, initially just for killing time, would turn out to yield quite a harvest, and not a small one at that.

The existence of the Mechanical Race and the Hive Mind Network built around him as the core was already incredible enough.

And now he had also acquired the coordinate locations.

He might even obtain some potential benefits from the insects later on.

Thinking about all of this, Chen Ming closed his eyes with great satisfaction.

But before truly resting, Chen Ming briefed Brilliant on the HR matters, asking it to help with some ideological work.

Finally, he decided to use up one hundred percent of his Spiritual Power to grant an additional Alpha Core boost labeled [Elite Individual] to HR.

After confirming his selection, Chen Ming experienced a rapid consumption of his Spiritual Power that he hadn’t felt for a long time.
