Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 530: Chapter 175: Nerve Connection

The Sky Jellyfish had just entered the atmosphere.

And the Insect Race’s biomass spaceship, no, it was indeed biomass itself, emerged from several kilometers deep underground.

Its appearance was somewhat like a standard combat spaceship parasitized by the Insect Race, yet somewhat resembled a Mule Level cargo ship.

Only it was more elongated, more streamlined, and had a unique biological texture.

As it broke through the earth, Chen Ming could see its biomass engine nozzles, covered by a pitch-black shell, emitting distinctive gray-green tail flames mixed with some black impurities.

Following the Sky Jellyfish, it also entered into space.

The high heat generated by the biological spaceship’s friction with the atmosphere cleaned off the excess impurities on its surface.

Chen Ming could finally see its full appearance clearly.

Other than the pitch-black engine nozzle.

The outer shell of the biomass spaceship reflected a brownish sheen under the starlight, appearing extremely tough.

The shell of this spaceship-level Insect Race, noticeably different from the ordinary Insect Race Chen Ming had seen, was strong enough to support such a massive body in space.

If Chen Ming could abandon the recognition in his mind that this biomass spaceship is a spaceship.

Then this would actually be the largest creature Chen Ming had ever seen.

The second largest was the Altrulan Sky Eel.

Regardless of which, both held special value to him.

Within the crevices of the biomass spaceship’s shell, Chen Ming also saw something akin to Bubble Insect acid spray ports.

As soon as the shell opened slightly under muscle action, these acid spray ports could reveal an opening for free firing.

Previously, when Chen Ming was in the Space Station, he understood that Bubble Insect’s acid could be used in space, so it would be the same for this biomass spaceship.

However, the Insect Race would certainly not directly use acid to attack the Sky Jellyfish.

After all, should they accidentally kill the Sky Jellyfish, with its spiritual energy scattered too much or its spiritually endowed body tissues destroyed, it would be a loss difficult for the Insect Race to bear.

Rather than using acid weapons, it would be better to employ other methods.

Like using the dozens of thick tentacles extending from the sides of the biomass spaceship that Chen Ming now saw.

Although the Insect Race’s spaceship wasn’t in the same class as the Sky Jellyfish in terms of size, it actually had an advantage in speed.

The five nozzles at the rear could provide acceleration the Sky Jellyfish couldn’t achieve.

After accelerating for some time in space, it was about to catch up with the previously fleeing Sky Jellyfish.

Just a little more, and its side tentacles could capture the Sky Jellyfish.

And the Sky Jellyfish, only three meters in diameter, had no power to resist in front of this creature over hundreds of meters.

It had already left the atmosphere some distance.

And this meant it couldn’t immediately turn back to the planet and burrow underground.

Thus, the three Cruisers that Chen Ming had earlier hidden outside the star system activated their transition function simultaneously at this moment.

They instantly arrived in front of the biomass spaceship, sealing all its escape routes in a triangle formation.

Yet Chen Ming now encountered the same problem as the Insect Race.

He couldn’t directly use weapons to attack this biomass spaceship, as the consequences were akin to the Insect Race directly using acid to assault the Sky Jellyfish.

He had to think of another way to control this Insect Race spaceship.

Clearly, Chen Ming had thought this through before making his move.

A large quantity of metallic liquid suddenly appeared out of thin air atop the Defender, gradually condensing into dozens of flexible giant mechanical arms connected to the ship.

They reached toward the biomass spaceship, which had abruptly halted in space due to the sudden appearance of the three Cruisers.

Without a means to capture, he would forcibly create one.

In the face of kilometer-level Cruisers, the Insect Race’s spaceship appeared somewhat lacking.

This scene always gave Chen Ming a sense of a big fish eating a small fish.

But it’s unimportant; what’s important is achieving his goal.

Just as the Defender quickly approached the biomass spaceship, extending those dozens of mechanical arms.

Chen Ming suddenly discovered a fluctuation he was exceedingly familiar with, which ships emitted before entering hyperspace, appearing on the biological spaceship in front.

”Holy moly.”

Chen Ming unconsciously uttered.

Although he had previously speculated that the biomass spaceship might have this capability.

Seeing it now in reality still filled him with uncontrollable shock.

There were quite a few creatures he knew that could enter the cosmos physically other than the Sky Jellyfish.

But possessing the ability to physically enter hyperspace, breaching the barriers between normal cosmos and hyperspace, was truly a first for him.

What sort of creature is the Thorn Insect Race?

The question buzzing in Chen Ming’s mind did not affect his actions.

On the contrary, such questions only made him all the more eager.

He immediately activated the Blocking Pulse Generator.

It was a device Chen Ming had previously bought for hunting pirates.

The effect was simple: interrupting the process of ships using hyperspace engines, preventing them from entering hyperspace.

Though Chen Ming wasn’t certain if this would work on the biological spaceship, given he’d already guessed the Insect Race spaceship had hyperspace entry capability, using it now wouldn’t be wrong.

After all, the Insect Race now was risking falling into the stellar gravity well and being burned to ashes by the star, forcing hyperspace entry within the star system.
