High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2921: Chapter 1140: The New Legends

”This madman!”

Professor Emma stood in the void, murmuring to herself while looking at the enormous vortex that appeared abruptly over the Silent Forest. Her hair seemed like a flame burning intensely, scorching the air into twisting lines, painting half the sky a vivid red in stark contrast to the gloomy Silent Forest.

Several wizards wearing robes of different colors floated behind her, all looking in the same direction.

”——It’s the aura of the Primordial.”

Professor Tesla adjusted the massive black-framed glasses on his face, scratched his messy hair, then tugged at the yellowing collar of his white robe, his tone unusually serious: ”——If the previous messages from over there are correct, this means...”

”Isn’t Mr. Ruo Yu over there? Why would he let him come back?” Another wizard in a blue cloak looked somewhat uneasy and a bit perplexed.

”Just like Lady Shi Hui was led away by KOTOS and Six Fingers, I believe over in Cloud Sea, there should be another entity holding Mr. Ruo Yu’s attention.” Professor Yi’s gaze left the compass in his hand, paused, and added: ”——If my calculations aren’t wrong, the passage will be completely open in no more than a quarter of an hour.”

”What bad news.”

A black-robed wizard shook his head, his tone somewhat conflicted: ”Before coming out, Professor Dolag Barton reminded me to keep the noise down. His golden hound just gave birth prematurely and can’t bear a fright...”

”Professor Li also has a few freshly blossomed Heavenly Dew Grass, which are particularly sensitive to the earth’s vital energy.” Old Man Sistanda in a gray robe, leaning on a Crane’s Beak Hoe, sighed with some heartache: ”...That Montelio guy!”

As the saying goes, those without shoes don’t fear those with shoes.

The First University, with its vast resources and numerous jars and bottles on Buji Island, breaking any of them is heart-wrenching. Conversely, Montelio, who seems unburdened at this moment, appears to hold an advantage.

”——KOTOS, Rat Immortal, that Black Snail, and reportedly Leviathan among the three Giant Beasts became legends as well.” Another black-haired, black-robed male witch focused on other matters, his tone somewhat envious: ”...now even Montelio can touch that realm, while the rest of us cannot cross that threshold. It’s frustrating!”

This sentiment, while harmless in private, was somewhat inappropriate at this moment.

Because aside from Montelio, the others benefited from the Xuanhuang Fruit during the Battle of the Black Prison. At this moment, before them stood a vice-principal who used the Xuanhuang Fruit but did not fully advance.

It was akin to sticking a finger into a wound.

Professor Yi quickly glared at him and cleared his throat softly: ”In a time of great contention, everyone has their own serendipity. When the whale transforms into a roc and leaves the sea, it provides ample growth space for other big fishes, and the currents stirred by the roc allow small fishes and shrimps to rise. We live in this era and should feel grateful. What more could we want?”

Professor Emma took a gentle breath.

The sky seemed to dim slightly.

The other wizards quickly quieted down, focusing their gazes on her. Although she hadn’t fully advanced, Professor Emma was still an indisputable legend on Buji Island.

”Leave this to me.”

Professor Emma appeared entirely unaware of the subtle dialogue behind her, taking on the responsibility of being the vice-principal of the First University: ”Even if Montelio’s foundation is fragile, Primordial is undeniably a legendary-level Giant God Soldier, you won’t be much help here... Rest assured, I’m not like Sun Qi or Simon, those two battle-loving lunatics, I’ll have a proper talk with him.”

Sun Qi is the dean of the Starry Sky Academy, and Simon is the vice-dean of Starry Sky.

Hearing his own boss being used as an example by the vice-principal, the wizard in the blue cloak looked a bit embarrassed, as what Professor Emma said was indeed true.

But he still braced himself, expressing his—or rather, Starry Sky Academy’s—stance: ”Unless Montelio returns Primordial, we feel there’s nothing to discuss with him... This should be our bottom line.”

Professor Emma did not comment.

Shifting the topic swiftly, she quickly arranged: ”——Once you’re down, have the school prepare for the worst scenario. Gather all students in the First Hall, just in case. Suspend the operation of all labs above R2 level, assign half the big wizards to guard the students, and the other half to guard the primary formation nodes. Also, in the name of the School Works Committee and the Professor Joint Meeting, issue requests for assistance to relevant departments... Surely the outside legends won’t break into the house while they continue to feign ignorance.”

”Understood!”

The wizards all bowed in agreement, their figures flashing and disappearing.

In the blink of an eye.

Only Professor Yi was left in the sky.

He stepped forward, glancing at Professor Emma from the side, confirming from her tense expression that the earlier conversation was not without its effect, he involuntarily released an almost imperceptible sigh: ”——Severus doesn’t have any ill intentions.”

Severus was the black-robed one lamenting crossing the legend threshold, a professor in the talisman soldier study field, and involved in the Giant God Soldier Project Team, thus summoned to confirm the aura from the other side of the vortex.

Professor Emma smiled self-deprecatingly: ”It’s precisely because he has no ill intentions that it feels worse. Without comparison, there’s no harm... It’s not just him who’s unwilling either. If I, as the current vice-principal, could do better, perhaps the school wouldn’t need to call the former vice-principal back today.”

...

...

Another direction on Buji Island.

Outside the void.

The urgently summoned Shi Hui was confronting Six Fingers of the Dark Council and another expressionless bald giant. The positioning of the three was quite intriguing, precisely standing at the three corners of an equilateral triangle.

”You two... want to die?”

Stepping on a pair of red high heels, Shi Hui stood in the void, looking at the uninvited guests at the other two corners, her attitude somewhat hostile: ”KOTOS, how many months has it been since you advanced? Five months? Six months? Are you aiming to become the shortest-lived legend in history? And you, Six Fingers, don’t think the school tolerates the presence of the Dark Council because you’re a legend... There are not few legendary-level great demons suppressed or even refined by the school! Do you know why the Witch Demon King has lived so long? Because it never tests the school’s bottom line!”

The Dark Councilor, wearing a pointed hat, smiled bitterly.

”It’s a misunderstanding, a complete misunderstanding.” He pointed to the expressionless giant: ”I just want to take KOTOS back to the council, he seems to have some misunderstanding about us... he definitely didn’t intend to offend the school’s dignity!”
