High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2902: Chapter 1121: Inside and Outside the Primordial

First University.

Giant God Soldier Project Team.

In the spacious monitoring hall, a gigantic screen hanging from the ceiling flickered with the image of the ’Primordial’ silhouette. Unlike Type One, for a being of legendary level, even as developers they can only monitor some surface data. The excessively high-dimensional data is not only hard to obtain, but even when obtained, most of the Wizards lack the capability to interpret it, let alone withstand the indescribable backlash of magic power from interpreting it.

This relationship is quite similar to having children.

The skills of having children, the knowledge of their birth and growth, many people understand. Yet every child born is an independent entity, and as their creators, parents find it difficult to fully ’interpret’ them.

Back to the main topic.

On the screen, waterfalls of observational data cascaded down both sides of the Primordial silhouette image, with over a hundred Wizards in white robes, black robes, and gray robes holding notepads, diligently recording and monitoring their respective responsibilities.

Until a line of dazzling red data froze on the screen.

Like a rock in the center of a waterfall.

Blocking a large amount of other data from falling behind. In an instant, that mass of data formed an unsightly block on the huge screen, immediately attracting the attention of everyone in the hall, followed by a chorus of whispers.

”——Who? Who marked the data anomaly?”

A tall, middle-aged black-robed Wizard emerged from the crowd, looking around sharply: ”Monitoring system malfunction? Data misinterpretation? Or was it just a simple error?”

If it’s the former, the problem can be pushed to the department responsible for operations at the Cloud Sea World. If it’s the latter, although it’s the responsibility of their own department, it can range from minor to major—either way, it remains within manageable scope.

”It’s, it’s me!”

A short-statured Witch raised her hand in a fluster, her voice slightly hoarse: ”I just discovered that the data transmitted from Cloud Sea seemed a bit off...”

”Seemed off?” The middle-aged black robe furrowed his brow: ”What data?”

”Miss Korama De Gini’s blood sample retention, compared to the binding authentication sample just returned from the Primordial...it’s different, no, not at all alike! It seems to be someone else’s!”

”Someone else? Who?” The middle-aged black-robed Wizard pushed through the crowd, striding over to the short Witch, snatching the monitoring data from her hand, and quickly flipping through it.

The short Witch steadied herself, her gaze desperately avoiding the conspicuous ’black block’ on the giant screen as she swiftly explained: ”——The database temporarily lacks a fully matching target. All we can confirm is that the returned bloodline information is extremely complex, seemingly not belonging to one person, but a group? Additionally, that data seems to carry a hint of demonic aura...”

Her voice was very soft for the last sentence.

So soft that she might not have heard it herself.

Because the judgment was too terrifying, terrifying enough for her to rather believe her eyes were playing tricks. But precisely because it was so terrifying, she took the risk of being berated by her supervisor to mark the highest anomaly immediately.

No further explanation needed.

Upon hearing the news of suspected Demon Bloodline in the monitoring data, the middle-aged black-robed Wizard’s hand trembled violently, almost crushing the notepad, yet he still managed to stand firm, shouting harshly: ”Everyone! Monitoring Group One recheck the bloodline registration information in the database! Group Two retrieve the backup samples sent by North District for comparison again! Groups Three and Four take over the other monitoring tasks from Groups One and Two, with a focus on monitoring the Primordial’s resonance! Tracking Group and Area Safety Group increase the monitoring frequency! Control Center immediately contact Doctor Du Zemu to report! No, bypass him, directly report to Vice Principal Ruoyu!”

No need to repeat a second time.

The entire monitoring hall was already in chaos.

...

...

Inside ’Primordial’.

The cave plaza where the control center is located.

At the moment of being hoisted up.

Zheng Qing was surprised to find that he didn’t feel scared; instead, he recalled saying he would ’hoist someone up to beat’ and felt very peculiar.

”...I never intended to hoist you up and beat you.”

The boy smiled reluctantly, feeling a tightness in his throat—if Type One had a throat—he stared hard at the Witch in the center of the altar, trying to read something from her expression: ”Although I joked about hoisting people up to beat them, I never seriously intended to...”

The situation really wasn’t right now.

This was an indisputable conclusion.

The question was, what had happened to Korama?

Just looking at her cold eyes, the first word that flashed through Zheng Qing’s mind was ’Dao Transformation’, a term Old Yao had repeatedly emphasized. According to the book’s explanation, a Wizard undergoing Dao Transformation loses humanity and is filled with ’endless truth’, very similar to the aura Korama was radiating, one that repelled people.

Korama herself was aware of the possibility of Dao Transformation, and combined with her attitude of being ready to sacrifice herself before steering the ’Primordial’, the likelihood of being taken advantage of by Heart Demon was high.

But if Korama underwent Dao Transformation, why did she bind him? It shouldn’t be that she discovered the ’Forbidden Curse Seed’ on him, treating him like Monk Tang’s Flesh, planning to swallow him alive to fulfill some deficiencies in the Primordial, right?

Thinking of those dreadful possibilities, Zheng Qing couldn’t help but babbie on, hoping to make further judgment through the Witch’s reaction.

Yet the Witch standing at the center of the altar seemed oblivious, as if she hadn’t heard the sharp voice outside the altar, still holding her hands up, carefully examining every pattern on them.

Only a few blood-red vines roamed uncertainly around Type One, seemingly searching for places not tightly bound enough. One hovered near his face, as if hesitating whether to plug that black hole.

”——Wrong! You aren’t Korama!” The boy struggled, suddenly shouting.

The blood-red vine hovering before him abruptly stopped.

The Witch in the center of the altar remained silent, staring at her hands, not speaking or making any extra moves.

Outside the altar.

An unfamiliar voice echoed clearly above the cave plaza.

”How did you figure it out?”

Its voice was somewhat mechanical, making it hard to determine gender, but a hint of curiosity was detectable in its tone: ”——Mr. Ruo Yu didn’t figure it out; how did you? Or rather, did you sense something from me?”

The boy who was struggling earnestly froze, nearly cursing.

He had just babbled randomly!

Just trying to attract the Witch’s—no, whatever that thing was on the altar’s attention—and to his surprise, the other party was so honest.
