High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2909: Chapter 1128: Sudden Downturn

Cloud Sea World.

On Lotus Peak.

From standing in the Cloud Sea, Primordial stood quietly for a long time without any movement, causing discussions among those on and below the mountain. Some thought it was the qualified person adapting to the power of the Legend, after all, she was originally just a newly advanced Big Wizard, able to drive this Giant God Soldier into motion was already quite unexpected; others felt there might be some internal fault in the Giant God Soldier, knowing how big this alchemical creation was, with millions of components meshed together, it would be strange not to have faults; yet others considered if this is part of the test, who said Legend testing must be like ordinary Giant God Soldiers, bouncing around to hunt in the Silent Forest?

”—Perhaps the real test is happening in the River of Destiny.”

Below the mountain, a Wizard in a white robe gazed with envy at the looming Giant in the Cloud Sea, his voice filled with longing: ”I’ve heard from the elders that Legendary Wizards essentially are not on the same existential dimension as us, the reality reveals only a small part of their massive form... or a ’section’.”

”That’s exactly it! If we, ordinary Wizards, can understand the thoughts and actions of Legends, then they would no longer be legends or miracles.” His companion immediately nodded in agreement.

Beside them, another Black-robed one sighed, half jokingly said: ”—How unfortunate, I was originally hoping to see if Legends really crack space when they walk.”

Compared to those registered level Wizards from below the mountain.

On Lotus Peak.

On the terrace that had expanded into a small plaza, the attitude of Alchemy School’s High-level Wizards was not so optimistic.

”—Is Korma in trouble?”

Professor Li from the Magic Potion class squeezed beside Professor Yi, lowering his voice with some concern in his tone: ”I noticed her condition wasn’t very good when she asked me to prepare potions days ago... wasn’t it said that on the day of the eclipse, Sakura Pub was attacked? Why is she still participating in this test?”

”Because apart from her, there is no more suitable candidate in the entire school.”

Professor Simon from Starry Sky Academy somewhat bluntly inserted into the conversation between the two professors: ”—The originally booked three qualified persons, one backed out with an excuse, one disappeared, only leaving her. Not every Big Wizard possesses the precious quality of ’sacrifice.’ Without such a quality, it’s hard to resonate with this specially created ’Primordial’ for the edge... Insufficient resonance forcefully initiated could instantly sap even a top Big Wizard into a dried corpse due to Primordial’s vast demand.”

At this point, he shook his head, evidently foreseeing such a terrifying consequence.

Compared to his colleagues, Professor Yi, responsible for the Divination Group, appeared somewhat anxious—since the events of the eclipse and Professor Montreya’s defection, he now felt like a startled bird.

”...Not a behavior pattern pre-arranged, not a system fault, and no one is hurt.”

Professor Yi’s hand shrank in his sleeve, intensely gazing at the distant giant, quickly calculating, furrowing his brows, muttering: ”It shouldn’t be, it shouldn’t be so quiet... Even if Korma suffers from machine feedback, there should be system alerts coming out... Why does she keep staring at the palm? Is she trying to convey some message?”

Just at this moment.

The giant silhouette in the Cloud Sea suddenly shifted its gaze from the palm and slowly turned its head looking towards the rear direction — another Legendary Giant God Soldier of the First University was located in that direction.

”It’s moving!”

”It’s moving!”

”Primordial moved!”

The massive silhouette stirred the wind and clouds, which immediately caught the attention of Wizards below the mountain, who then exclaimed aloud. Soon, the boiling voices spread upward from below the mountain; everyone seemed to forget Elder Ruoyu’s earlier demand for silence. The spreading waves of sound and the swirling Cloud Sea responded mutually, making the entire mountain peak’s atmosphere seem lively, even the flowing magic power around seemed more spirited.

On the terrace.

The Vice Principal of the First University stood by the wind, in the void, gazing levelly at the slowly turning ’Primordial’, slightly furrowing his brows. Not sure if it’s an illusion, although Primordial’s gaze was towards the rear, he felt this Giant’s attention might be about eighty to ninety percent on him.

Could it be due to the allure of the Legendary aura?

He was somewhat uncertain.

...

...

Buji Island.

First University, Giant God Soldier Project Team.

In the monitoring hall, the large screen hanging from the ceiling was currently filled with error codes, with lines of conspicuous red data stacking together, blocking the waterfall-like observation data at the entrance, as if clear water turned into muddiness, the eye-striking red light made the entire hall somewhat dim.

”—Report! Report to the director! The Protector Array of the First University detected the aura of an unidentified Legend from outside, causing the Protector Array to expand again... To avoid cross-dimensional risk, the passage connecting to Cloud Sea World has been forcibly closed by the Protector Array, we temporarily have no means to contact Vice Principal Ruoyu!”

A short Witch in a Black Robe stumbled in front of the middle-aged Warlock leading, quickly reporting, then added: ”—The Professor Joint Meeting also sent a message, inquiring if the laboratory could dispatch a scale Edge Type 1, to be enlisted as a reserve for school defense.”

The middle-aged Warlock’s expression was serious.

The school even inquired about the practical possibility of Giant God Soldiers, indicating the situation was truly tense to the extreme. He didn’t understand why the situation suddenly turned so bad, mere minutes before, everything was still so smooth and orderly.

But he knew he didn’t have more time for hesitation.

The three Legendary stationed at the First University, one was pursuing the thief who stole the Sun, one was guarding two Legendary Giant God Soldiers in Cloud Sea World, and one was scouting in the sky, replacing the Sun to illuminate the world.

This meant that the school was in its weakest state now, if the unidentified Legend was from the Land of Desolation or any other hostile force, the situation could quickly become unmanageable.

He took a gentle breath.

Turning, surveying left and right, looking at the anxious faces around him, he shouted sternly:

”—Issue orders! Instantly assemble all qualified candidates within the school, refusal not allowed! All personnel, activate emergency protocol, equip all mobile Edge Type 1 with armed modules! Additionally, apply to the School Works Committee and Professor Joint Meeting for special permissions of the Protector Array, request cross-dimensional communication... Whatever the case, contact Mr. Ruo Yu at all costs!”
