High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2901: Chapter 1120: Turning Point

”The Primordial is about to awaken.”

Professor Simon, the vice president of Starry Sky Academy, crossed his arms in front of his chest, his expression solemn.

”Indeed... it’s waking up.”

Professor Li of Magic Potions took a step forward, standing at the edge of the terrace; his light body seemed as if it could be blown away by the mountain wind. His voice was gentle, yet it clearly reverberated throughout Lotus Peak: ”— All those below the level of High-level Registered Wizards, immediately use ’Maintaining Rock-like Firmness’ to ensure your own safety.”

Maintaining Rock-like Firmness is a Guardian magic, forming a semi-transparent brown mountain above the user, able to withstand most physical and some magic attacks. The only drawback is that the magic’s semi-transparent shield obstructs the wizard’s view to some extent.

An eye-opening event witnessing the awakening of a Legendary Level entity.

Many wizards who weren’t sufficiently ranked hesitated, reluctant to follow Professor Li’s instructions.

”Isn’t the Primordial wearing ’Phoenix Robe’? We should be very safe.” Immediately, a young wizard hesitantly asked a companion nearby: ”—And we’re so far away, what danger could there be?”

Phoenix Robe is the layer of light membrane wrapping around the Primordial and Taiyi, theoretically capable of enduring the invasion of legendary aura, isolating the conflict between different Law auras, effectively setting a safety barrier between the ’Primordial’ and the numerous wizards below Lotus Peak.

Someone next to him nodded in agreement: ”The Big Wizards are all up there; it’s like ’when the sky falls, the tall ones hold it up,’ we’re safely tucked under their feet, nothing will happen...”

The words weren’t finished.

Crack.

A thunderous sound then exploded in everyone’s ears.

Following closely.

Boom, boom.

Deafening sounds echoed endlessly, the whole world suddenly began to shake violently, the earth cracked, mountain ridges broke apart, huge rocks drifted through the sky like dust, the splitting stone sounds of Lotus Peak transmitted from the foot to the peak, swallowing all the noise and commotion on the mountain, the tranquil Cloud Sea instantly erupted into towering waves, and the originally bright light dimmed at once.

The monstrous entity sitting peacefully amidst the Cloud Sea slowly opened its eyes.

Blinding light instantly replaced the red and blue moons overhead, casting the whole world into dazzling brightness. Almost simultaneously, everyone terrifyingly felt their body’s Magic Power start to cheer and frolic, as if in the next moment, they would uncontrollably leave their body, heading straight towards the legendary entity that had just woken up.

”—What happened, happened?”

”—My Magic Power is out of control!”

”—Quick, quick, uphold Maintaining Rock-like Firmness!”

”—Too late, Magic Power can’t gather!”

Perhaps due to prolonged construction on that giant entity, these young wizards lost their reverence for it, so when faced with an aura completely different from usual, the intensity of invasion caused a tremendous psychological shock to many, with screams and shouts echoing repeatedly, throwing Lotus Peak into chaos.

”Silence!”

A faint voice enveloped the entire Lotus Peak.

Together with this voice dropped a thin layer of Magic Barrier, similar to the Phoenix Robe worn by the ’Primordial’ and ’Taiyi’, appearing like a transparent soap bubble, feeling as if it could burst with a poke, yet at this moment, no one dared to touch it.

Not only because this layer of ’soap bubble’ isolated the feeling that made everyone’s Magic Power boil just earlier.

But also because what cast this Guardian magic was another Legendary Wizard present, also the vice president of First University, Elder Ruoyu. At this moment, he levitated above Lotus Peak, leaning on the silver wolf-head staff, his wide robe flapping in the strong wind, calmly watching the giant in the Cloud Sea.

Swoosh!

Swoosh, swoosh!

Heavy and long breaths swirled above the Cloud Sea, blowing gusts of hurricanes moving in irrational patterns. After a few breaths, seemingly having adapted to the world’s aura, the monstrous entity in the Cloud Sea began to rise slowly.

A hand propped on the ground, slowly standing up.

Just such a simple action.

Yet everyone felt the world resembled a small boat, its balance shifted due to a passenger standing up, many wizards still in shock subconsciously leaned back a bit, seemingly about to fall the next second.

The surging Magic Power also caused an abrupt change in the world’s originally clear distinction of two colors, causing even the Taiyi aura on the other side to become a bit unstable, with the Phoenix Robe enveloping it flashing intensely.

”—Without sufficient psychological preparation, don’t think you can stand upright in front of an utterly unrestrained legend.” Professor Simon continued to cross his arms, but his tone now carried a few feelings of awe.

”—This is the legend.” Another Big Wizard cautiously took a deep breath, tightened his robe.

Professor Li anxiously glanced under the terrace, ensuring those young wizards weren’t genuinely injured.

In the Cloud Sea.

After standing upright, the Primordial didn’t perform any more drastic motions, merely raised its hands in front, carefully and earnestly inspecting them, just like what Korma was doing right now in the cave square, at the altar’s center.

...

...

—Zzzt zzzt.

—Zzzt zzzt...

—Old Jack turned the Compass in his hand, his heel spurs clinking, his left eye slightly squinted, right hand pressing towards the Law book at his waist...

—Clip clop.

—Clip clop.

—Three-eyed crow stood on birch bark, yellow-skinned frogs crawled out of Green Haze Lake water, amidst the cawing mixed with croaking, cursing on each other’s blindness...

With a peculiar rhythm, song echoed suddenly above the cave square, Zheng Qing, at the edge of maneuvering, raised his head, looking around suspiciously, attempting to find the sound source but to no avail, instead, the zzzt zzzt sound, like old magnetic tape with damaged audio quality, became increasingly clear.

Zheng Qing wasn’t unfamiliar with this song; it’s an ancient hunting tune. D&K played it repeatedly outside the store for a long time during its opening.

But now?

In this location?

This song?

Even if Zheng Qing strained his brain, he couldn’t comprehend why this song was playing here. The only explanation was the master controlling this hub was inwardly singing this tune now.

”...Senior, can you hear the sound?” When the song grew louder, Zheng Qing finally couldn’t hold back, he asked Korma.

Standing at the altar’s center, Korma seemed to finally return to his senses. He tilted his head slightly, glancing at Zheng Qing.

That glance was cold and unfamiliar.

Making Zheng Qing unconsciously shiver.

Without any signs, accompanied by that gaze, dozens of blood-red vines descended from the starry sky dome like living blood vessels and nerves, clawing and fanged, falling upon the edge of Zheng Qing’s position, binding him tightly, suspending him in mid-air.
