High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2914: Chapter 1133: Link

The feeling is different from entering the ”Primordial”.

As soon as he stepped onto the mountain path of ”Taiyi”, Zheng Qing inexplicably felt a sense of intimacy and familiarity, as if it were an old friend he had known for a long time. He wasn’t sure if this was a psychological effect or a real feeling, but undoubtedly, this was a good omen for the situation at hand.

What was similar to entering the ”Primordial” was the scenery along the way.

The winding, deep mountain paths, the densely packed rocks, the narrow stone crevices, the Heavenly Road leading directly to the core, the altar walls, the vaults, the plazas, the altars, and the ”Four-direction Path” connected to the altars—all of it was almost exactly the same as the settings inside the Primordial, with little difference.

Zheng Qing guessed that the school did this to save a lot of design time and material cost.

Of course, the contents on the relief band of Taiyi’s altar walls were about the Legendary Giant Artu Groot, and Zheng Qing could easily spot several classic scenes from ”The Legend of Artu Groot” in them, such as Artu fighting the Ancient God of the Otherworldly.

In addition, the ”battle robe” suspended above Taiyi’s altar, resembling a futuristic warrior’s armor, sharply contrasted with the style of the flowing wizard’s robe above the Primordial altar.

At the end of the Heavenly Road.

Zheng Qing stood below the three-tiered blue glazed circular platform, looking up at the slowly rotating armor suspended in mid-air, took a deep breath, and softly said: ”—I’ll leave everything outside to you.”

Immediately, he felt a lightness in his left ear, as a cyan figure swiftly disappeared into the void. The thin mist swirling around the altar was suddenly startled, boiling fiercely like hot water, wrapping around the cyan figure. Quickly, the originally finger-thick Little Dragon grew rapidly, a foot, a meter, ten meters—in just a moment, it transformed into a massive creature with a diameter several meters long, circling the altar twice over.

With azure scales and black hue, a donkey’s head and camel’s ears, cheeks like fish, whiskers fluttering, its voice thunderous.

Inhale, exhale!

The mist around the altar disappeared like flowing water into its mouth and nose, then slowly dissipated from its scales, in and out, the surrounding mist seemed to thicken quite a bit, yet this creature, neither snake nor dragon, displayed an expression of ecstasy. But it didn’t forget the command of its boss.

”Right, right... Leave it all to me!”

It promised with enthusiasm, shook its tail, and vanished into the mist. Zheng Qing could only determine it was still around based on the occasional glimpse of a scale or claw.

This made him quietly sigh in relief.

Before entering ”Taiyi”, Elder Ruoyu again mentioned the matter of the guards to Zheng Qing. Especially emphasizing that Professor Montreya knew the weaknesses of the legendary configuration, coupled with Zheng Qing’s low rank, making it very necessary to strengthen his personal safety.

Zheng Qing hesitated for a moment then.

Originally, after today’s test, he planned to discuss with a few teammates from the Yuzui Hunting Team or simply ask a Great Wizard like Su Shijun, with whom he had a good relationship, to help, to be his altar guardian but clearly, there was no time for that now.

So accepting Elder Ruoyu’s arrangement seemed to be the best choice.

Just as Zheng Qing was about to agree.

The tip of the tail of the cyan Little Dragon hanging on his ear hooked slightly, offering him another choice.

”——You’re sure you can handle it, right?”

Before stepping onto the altar, Zheng Qing was still a bit uneasy and shouted towards the mist.

A gigantic dragon head suddenly emerged from the mist, stopping in front of the young wizard, snorted in exasperation: ”Come on, I have the foundation of ’R’lyeh’, and my skills have recovered to the Great Wizard Level, coupled with your favorable terrain... Even if I can’t beat a legend, holding off three to five big wizards outside is no problem. Anyway, if a Legendary Wizard really stoops to sneak up on a junior like you, just let it kill you! See who ends up more dead!”

This sounded a bit roguish.

But for a demon ”turned” guardian, one couldn’t expect too high moral standards.

Zheng Qing withdrew his gaze, shook his head slightly, stopped paying attention to the miscellany outside the altar, exhaled the turbid air from his chest gently, and took the first step forward.

Ascending step by step.

The blue stone steps were somewhat coarse, like the scales of some animal.

On both sides, the Han white jade railings barely visible had sculptures of small, charming lion-tiger fierce beasts.

These small details that would attract Zheng Qing’s attention on normal days were ignored at this moment, focusing solely on the armor, carefully stepping closer, one step at a time.

In no time, he stood under the armored battle dress.

Then, mimicking the actions of Professor Montreya earlier, he took out a silver knife, cut his palm, and smeared blood on the chest armor. The battle dress suddenly emitted a brilliant light, Zheng Qing felt a slight heaviness on his shoulders, waist, and back, and when he came to his senses, the scene before him had abruptly changed.

The originally misty, slightly dim stone pit plaza was nowhere in sight.

What greeted his eyes was a more complex, ’line’-filled world, crisscrossing and orderly, with arcane power of various colors flowing within, endless images flashed across these rows of lines every moment.

Is this materialized rules?

Or the alchemy structure within ’Taiyi’?

Zheng Qing did not know.

Nor had time for idle speculation.

Noticing the boy’s presence, hundreds of lines of varying thickness and colors reached out from all directions, ’stabbing’ unceremoniously into Zheng Qing’s shoulders, elbows, wrists, back of head, spine, chest, abdomen, legs, feet, and all major acupoints.

A slight prickling sensation came.

As if the hollow needle tips of those lines had really pierced into his body.

Immediately following was a subtle gurgling sound, Zheng Qing could clearly feel his blood being swallowed bit by bit, and could clearly see the originally colorful lines quickly losing their original colors, dyed to a uniform crimson by his blood.

His blood was flowing into ”Taiyi”.

A sudden realization dawned in Zheng Qing’s mind.

This was the start of a fusion.

Very suddenly, he experienced a very conflicting feeling—worried that the little blood he was losing wouldn’t be enough to fill a single blood vessel of ”Taiyi”; yet also worried that he might pass out from losing so much blood.

The ’lines’ had none of these worries.

They cheered, frolicked, and sucked the blood from the boy’s body, but at a dimension unnoticed by them, slender roots emerged from the depth of the boy’s consciousness, following with the wizard’s blood, extended into those lines, and then, along with the spreading blood, flowed into the deeper parts of Taiyi’s body.
