High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2910: Chapter 1129: The Sun’s Descent

First University.

Office building, Professor Joint Meeting office.

The light in the room was a little dim. Dozens of professors in Black Robe were gathered together, their expressions serious. No one spoke; only the clear and loud voices of one Firebird after another, flying into the room, echoed through the office:

”—The relevant departments say they have already taken note of the threat from outside the school and are assessing the situation... The relevant departments will not casually interfere with the school’s work, and at the same time will not accept the school’s arrangements or mobilization...”

”—It takes at least a quarter of an hour to open the special permissions for the school Protect Legal Formation; for now we cannot get in touch with Mr. Ruo Yu... The Giant God Soldier Project Team agrees to dispatch at least an Edge Type I force with standard Hunting team numbers to join the school guardian mission...”

”—Professor Yao has completely lost contact... The direction from which He sent His last message was at ’Beiluoshimen’, suspected to be Nicolas’s recent activity area... The Divination Group and Astronomical Observatory have observed intense Magic Power reactions in the related Star Domain, suspected to be the aftershocks of a clash between Legendary Rank Wizards...”

”—Professor Emma is currently performing a ’rule task’ and cannot pull away in the short term... She will descend an avatar as soon as possible to participate in the school guardian work...”

Hearing this last bit of newly returned intelligence, a round-faced female professor finally couldn’t hold back and let out a very soft sigh. ”...Trouble upon trouble. We never should have proposed that Professor Emma carry out the ’rule task’ back then... If she just turned into the Sun, went up there and spun around twice, the effect would be about the same.”

”But the consumption for her that way would be far too great.”

Another Warlock with an old, mature face shook his head and analyzed in a low voice: ”After all, She’s not a true Legend yet... Using the convenience of a rule task can save a lot of effort.”

The so‑called ’rule task’ is something like the Sun rising in the east and setting in the west, the tides ebbing and flowing—phenomena that operate according to their own natural laws. If a Wizard is in the right place at the right time and wants to drive such a phenomenon to occur, he can borrow the laws that the phenomenon already possesses and go with the flow.

Since the silence had been broken.

Others immediately followed suit and squeezed in through the opened window.

”What about the Alliance?” On the other side, an elderly Witch rubbed the Protein Stone on her ring, swept a stern gaze around her: ”Has anyone reported the situation here to the Alliance?”

A Warlock of similar age noticed several colleagues’ grim expressions and hurriedly tried to smooth things over. ”...We’ve already tried to get in touch with Lady Shi Hui. Her assistant said she’s in the laboratory right now; if all goes well, it should take her about ten minutes to get back to the school... half an hour at most.”

As the leader of The Radical Group at First University, Shi Hui had to take responsibility for many of the things that happened in last year’s Black Prison, so she left the school and transferred into the Magic Alliance Conference to serve as President.

But as the former vice‑principal, she still had very high prestige among many professors and students at First University. Now that the school was in trouble and high‑end combat power was stretched thin, her supporters wanted to seize the opportunity to invite her back again; the timing could not be better.

Since there were those who liked her, naturally there were those who disliked her.

Hearing the Elder Wizard’s words, someone beside him immediately sneered: ”Half an hour? Never mind half an hour— for a Legend, ten minutes is enough to make a World completely disappear... let alone just a little island.”

The words were somewhat unpleasant, and immediately drew a flurry of rebuttals—

”Is Buji Island some ordinary little island?”

”What kind of comparison is that... The foundations of many Great Thousand Worlds aren’t as deep as Buji Island’s!”

”Joke! Even if we open the school Protect Legal Formation and let that Legend come and go as he pleases, would He dare get close? The relevant departments only said they wouldn’t follow the mobilization of our Joint Meeting; they never said they’d let those savages storm in here and run wild!”

Bam!

The office doors burst open to both sides.

Interrupting this brief and not‑very‑intense dispute inside the room.

A wave of scorching heat rolled over itself, rushing into the room in a scramble. Close behind it was a tall, robust figure; the crimson hair streaming behind her was like streaks of brilliant sunlight. Professor Emma, looking much younger in visage, strode into the room, ignored the professors’ earlier squabbling, and with just one sentence calmed everyone down: ”—The Legend outside the island is Six Fingers. Tch, as if throwing on a Cloak means I won’t recognize Him? What a joke—there’s no position in this World that sees more clearly than the Sun!”

For all the mockery, she did not relax the school’s control: ”It’s just that we don’t have time to deal with Him now. Unfold the school Protect Legal Formation to make our stance clear, that’s enough... Professor Zhou, inform those old die‑hards in the relevant departments that we’ve just received word our Sun was tossed by that Black Snail onto Nicolas’s body. Old Yao got beaten up by the Nicolas who was awakened in fright; the situation is a bit complicated. I need to borrow a forbidden spell to go pay Nicolas a visit.”

These last words left the professors, who had just relaxed after confirming the unknown Legend outside the island, once again dumbstruck. Almost reflexively, they turned to look at the Professor Zhou whom Professor Emma had mentioned.

Zhou Fukai, spokesman of the First University Professor Joint Meeting, and the designated contact between the Joint Meeting and the relevant departments. This meant that, through him, Professor Emma’s ’temporary transfer’ request to the relevant departments should not be refused if there was no legitimate reason.

Feeling the searing heat all around him.

Professor Zhou snapped back to his senses and nodded hard. ”—I’ll go in a bit— no, I’ll go inform them right now!”

...

...

Within Primordial’s body, Zheng Qing had no idea that the Wizards up and down Lotus Peak were clicking their tongues in amazement at every move of this colossal entity, nor did he know how many thorny troubles the school in another World was currently facing.

Right now all his attention was focused on the pale blue box above the Conscious Sea.

The silver‑white Colt Python had completely withdrawn from the mouth of the box.

One silver‑white conduit after another, strung together by Runes, stretched out from the void—one end plunged into the gun case, the other connected to the air‑roots of the Tree of Forbidden Curse. Dark‑green Curse Power flowed like water, gurgling as it was drawn along that air‑root into the gun case, gathering and condensing bit by bit, finally being poured into one inconspicuous green Fu Bullet after another.

Zheng Qing’s mind stirred faintly.

An extremely dazzling streak of green light began rolling and brewing inside the gun barrel.

He finally let out a breath of relief.

Tilting his head, he glanced at the Witch in the center of the altar, who still showed no sign of movement, cut off the mechanical voice babbling above the altar, and at last sighed: ”—So, why did you have to steal the school’s Sun?”

The Professor looked at the boy in puzzlement.

The next second.

A single point of green light blossomed among the densely packed red vines.
