High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1651: Chapter 395: 2 Suns Rise in the Darkness

Two suns rose in the Black Prison.

A giant firebird soared across the sky, from east to west, its wings spread, spanning the entire sky, stretching tens of thousands of miles. The firebird had a swallow’s neck and a chicken’s beak, and a dragon-like serpent neck, with its head held high, as if it wanted to peck through the sky. Its wings were only a shape but composed of blazing flames, and its body and tail were similarly aflame, soaring westward, igniting the boundless clouds behind.

Before the firebird, was a pitch-black expanse.

After the firebird, was a mix of gold and red filling the sky.

Beyond the firebird, a witch carrying a torch came from west to east. The witch was enormous, almost reaching the sky, holding the torch in both hands, with shattered handcuffs, shackles, and chains wrapped around her shoulder, neck, and arms. As she moved, the shackles clashed like jade pendants striking chimes, resounding through the heavens. On the torch, the flames were like pearls, bright red and dazzling, moving eastward, like a sun in reverse,

Above the torch was the ferocious face of the giant beast Leviathan, struggling as it entered this world.

Beneath the torch were countless ardent figures following the giantess.

Scarlet like sparks, igniting everything.

Black Prison Castle.

The edge of the highest tower of the outer castle.

Su Shijun gripped the cold battlements with both hands, leaning out vigorously, her eyes flickering with exceptional colors.

A moment ago, she was still worried about what great plots the demons who broke through the realm might have, but then she saw a red line rise from the inner castle, piercing the sky and transforming into a gigantic firebird.

Back in Qingqiu, she vaguely heard the elders in her tribe say that the headmaster of Alpha Academy, Professor Emma’s true form, was a firebird of an unknown species. But now, as it seems, the firebird’s head resembles a fiery phoenix, its body appears somewhat plump, different from the nimble phoenix, indeed hard to distinguish.

The firebird soared, like a golden crow patrolling the sky, lighting up half of the Black Prison with endless flames.

As for the other half of the Black Prison’s brightness, it was claimed by the giant witch holding the torch. Su Shijun also glanced at the witch and the torch. The witch’s aura was extremely strong. In the entire Black Prison Castle, perhaps only a few deans and two vice presidents could suppress her. Moreover, the flames on the torch were astonishing, just a simple glance caused a slight burning sensation in her eyes.

”Really a grand display.” Beside her came the soft praise from Silent Souls.

”What?” This was the voice of William Tapott, the werewolf clan’s upper house member sitting on the wall.

Silent Souls did not leave him in suspense, simply explaining: ”If I’m not mistaken, the flame bound to that torch is a true sun... Only a true sun could rival Professor Emma’s true form.”

Mister Wolfman swallowed very audibly.

”A true sun?!” His voice suddenly raised a few pitches, even becoming a bit distorted: ”Is it worth it? Just for a few fruits? Have the demons’ brains been completely corrupted by demon energy? Such a waste!”

”The significance of shattering the Black Prison is priceless to the demons.” Silent Souls looked at the two suns in the sky reflecting each other, softly answering: ”Moreover, those fruits represent not just a chance to purify bloodlines, but are also the keys to exploring truth.”

On how to explore the truth, the upper house member of the Ghost Tribe spoke vaguely.

The tower fell silent for a while.

Until Milton Karen’s voice was heard again: ”Not to mention that sun, just the torch that can bind the sun and the witch who can lift the torch are awe-inspiring.”

”Ziz.” Gongsun Bing answered with its deep, unique concise voice.

Although similar to Silent Souls’ previous explanation, Gongsun Bing’s two-word response seemed very ambiguous, the ones present were not ordinary. As upper house members of the Moon Council, many secrets of the Wizard World were not secrets to them.

Ziz, Leviathan’s sister, Behemoth’s elder sister, whose true form is also a giant bird—how curious, the usually sky-throned Ziz took the form of a witch today in the Black Prison; whereas Professor Emma, who usually wandered as a witch throughout the First University, today split the sky in her giant bird true form.

While talking, the firebird and the red sun were already not far apart, leaving between them only a layer of pitch-black clouds, about a mile wide, straddling the sky, squeezed by the two suns, twisted and deformed.

This is the last remnant of the old Black Prison lingering in this world.

”There’s somewhat a sense of Tai Chi.” Milton raised his head, looking at the two blazing suns and the slender black line squeezed between them: ”As the saying goes ’The Book of Changes has Tai Chi, hence giving birth to two forms.’

Perhaps coincidentally, the junction of the two suns was right at the front line of confrontation between the Black Prison Castle and the Demon Alliance Army.

”It could be considered the birth of a new world.” Su Shijun opened her arms, feeling the magical power permeated with a slight fiery aura spreading through heaven and earth, and comfortably stretched the four fox tails behind her, slightly swaying in the sunlight.

”In the future, the Black Prison World could be renamed ’White Prison World’ or ’Demon Prison World,’” Milton laughingly added, ”But who knows if the school can keep the sun brought by Ziz.”

Su Shijun didn’t concern herself with that.

Compared to such superficial changes, she was more interested in the subtle alterations continually occurring deep within this world. Closing her eyes, she seemed able to hear the soul belonging to this realm softly moaning.

This is a domain touchable only by Big Wizards.

Milton and William were slightly inferior, naturally lacking this insight.

Seeing the witch ignore him, Milton was not bothered—anyway, he was used to it—he turned his head, refocusing his gaze outside the castle.

Sunlight poured down.

Light returned.

The world originally shrouded in darkness became clear and transparent.

Milton’s gaze followed the steps of sunlight, wandering around, gradually holding his breath. He didn’t feel much in the darkness before, but now under the sunlight, he suddenly discovered that outside the outer castle, the figures of the nine Great Wizards were so tall.

Each colossal towering figure silently sitting before the outer castle, the massive shadows both enveloping the Black Prison Castle under the sun yet covering it in darkness.

The towering presence of the Great Wizards intertwining together, like a vast, undulating mountain range, firmly blocking the demon army’s aggressive advance.

The two suns glazed their surroundings with a halo of mingled gold and red, further emphasizing their solemnity and grandeur.

Each crafted hunting team, forming dazzling battle formations, threading among the Great Wizards’ silhouettes and that sprawling hellish equation before the ancient castle.

Many hunting teams had left the castle but had not engaged in battle, instead hanging like small birds on the Great Wizards, cleansing away those ’petty inferiors’ descending from the sky, attempting to attach and harass the Great Wizards’ true forms.

This sight aroused Milton’s emotions.

The elite registered wizards forming hunting teams which stormed unabashedly through the new world and various hunting competitions, now only served as ’tick birds’ and ’seal fish,’ cleaning up the parasites clinging onto the rhinos and whales.

Vaguely, Mister Vampire seemed to hear a few dog barks.
