High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1691: Chapter 435: 6 Fingers

A black vortex slowly emerged several hundred meters away from the inner fortress wall.

Even though it was reinforced with multiple layers of magic, the vortex still twisted the space of the Black Prison World, leaving deep and shallow, heavy and light marks. The intense space-time magic traces caused the clock hanging nearby to tremble frantically, its three hands spinning wildly, and one could vaguely hear the sharp screams of the Big Witch Goblin Bridget.

Two gigantic hands slowly reached out from the vortex, one withered and skinny, almost just skin wrapping around flesh, while the other had turned completely into bone, with a few pieces of fresh red meat left sparsely on the ghastly white hand bones.

Immense magic energy surged in all directions from those hands. Above the Keiform Flight Land, several deans and Great Demon warriors stopped attacking cautiously, and raised their guardian magic defensively.

As the energy surged, the two suns in the sky lost their brilliance, the willow twigs crawling on the ground settled down obediently, several Great Demon ships quietly descended, and even the Multi-Armed Giant KOTOS lowered its numerous heads in respect.

A certain black pointed wizard hat emerged leisurely from the center of the vortex.

The tip of the hat was soft, still retaining the creases from being pressed, as if the wizard who used it had placed it under their arm for a nap, causing the tip to droop feebly.

Under the brim of the hat was a slightly old face, with sallow skin loosely piled up on it, large eye bags, and slightly bloodshot eyes that looked weary. Compared to this old face, his chin was quite smooth, without a single beard hair, suggesting it was carefully maintained.

The elder wizard broke free from the space-time bind, and slowly walked out of the vortex without holding a staff, but clutching a black-covered Law book instead.

Although Professor Yao was only a few hundred meters away from the elder wizard, with his massive body, he could seemingly reach out a hand and grab him, yet before the three-headed and eight-armed giant ape, the elder wizard appeared tiny like a child. However, the giant ape had not the slightest desire to harm the elder wizard.

A line could mean a difference like a chasm.

”How about... we step back a bit before fighting?” Mist Captain tilted his head, glanced at the giant ape, very kindly offering a suggestion.

The giant ape’s furious face grew even angrier, while the calm face remained unperturbed, nodding slightly.

From start to finish, the elder wizard acted as if he hadn’t seen these colossal beings beside him, not willing to spare even a glance. First, he looked up to see the black sphere suspended under the sun, directly above Stone Mountain, within which two legendary beings were engaged in combat.

The black sphere remained unmoved, hanging steadily there.

After staring at it for a while, the elder wizard withdrew his gaze and turned his attention to the figures standing on the inner fortress wall. Vice Principal Ruoyu watched him expressionlessly, while the elder wizard showed a kind smile.

Then his gaze rested briefly on the witch, little witch, and black cat, before finally settling on the young warlock standing beside Elder Ruoyu.

”Little brat,” the elder wizard said with a grin, looking at Zheng Qing, raising that hand bone devoid of flesh, seemingly trying to show goodwill, ”Long time no see... that shot of yours really hurt, last time your mentor harmed my hand, it hasn’t fully recovered, and this time you wiped out the flesh with one shot... truly a string of bad luck and a fraught destiny.”

”When we first met, I didn’t introduce myself, which was slightly impolite... I am the Permanent Chairman of the Dark Council, everyone calls me ’Six Fingers’,”

As he spoke, he shook that hand bone once more, his attitude becoming more amicable, ”Last time we met, my proposal is still valid. Wealth, power, knowledge... everything from the Dark Council will become your support. Your mentor is too old, their thoughts inevitably conservative, trust me, they won’t mind you leaving school and developing freely.”

Zheng Qing pursed his lips and clenched his teeth, ignoring the elder wizard opposite him.

Last year’s winter hunt left a profound impression on the young scholarship student, second only to lingering in the white place post-detonation, first meeting Su Shi Jun, and wandering aimlessly during the school hunting competition with the Black Cat, among the few notable experiences.

Jiang Yu stood behind the young man, anxiously tugging at his robe, while the black cat turned around and glanced at the young man.

Elder Ruoyu gripped the silver wolf-head cane steadily as always, but his gaze subtly shifted, seemingly wishing to turn his face to check on the young wizard, but ultimately, the elder did not look back.

The Dark Councilor keenly sensed this.

”Tut tut,” the elder wizard squinted, glanced at Elder Ruoyu, speaking in a peculiar tone, ”Looks like... you seem unaware who his mentor is?”

”Originally unsure.” Elder Ruoyu replied seriously.

Implying that he now knows.

The Dark Councilor couldn’t hide the disappointment on his face.

”What a pity,” he sighed, touching the Law book in his hand, seemingly wanting to open it but his fingers stopped on the cover, then he looked at the black cat again, ”Hmm, just reacted... First University was the first to use forbidden curses in a normal-intensity battlefield, doesn’t that violate the Wizard’s Code established by the Alliance, seems a bit unruly.”

”Please don’t deny it, hasn’t the black cat beside you just admitted it’s the adviser to ’related departments’?”

Elder Ruoyu drooped his eyelids, glancing at the black cat and Zheng Qing.

Then he raised his eyelids, sweeping towards the Dark Councilor.

”Why deny it,” the elder calmly replied, ”Forbidden curses are stored in First University, whether to use them or how they’re used naturally First University has the final say.”

Zheng Qing quietly clenched his fists, inwardly applauding Elder Ruoyu’s firm response.

The Dark Councilor sighed deeply, glancing at Zheng Qing again.

”That’s why, we must also grasp such power,” his voice was light, but his lament reached Zheng Qing’s ears clearly, ”Powers without the backing of forbidden curses are either puppets or vassals... for example, the Moon Council, supposedly one of the Alliance’s top three forces, now seems tamed by the school like lapdogs.”

”If you yourself are a dog, you’ll see everyone else the same way.” Elder Ruoyu continued with his characteristically indifferent tone.

Zheng Qing sneaked a glance at the dry little old man beside him, feeling for the first time that beneath his rigid exterior lay a lively and interesting soul.

The Dark Councilor shook his head, opening the Law book.

”Wait,” Elder Ruoyu suddenly raised his hand, halting the magical fluctuations beginning to ripple in mid-air, ”Let’s head elsewhere too... when rabbits invade the garden and damage the hedges and plants, they can be replanted, but if even the seeds within the garden are ruined, that’s overstepping.”

”Seeds belong to the garden’s owner, we gardeners have no say.”

”And you old rabbit, certainly aren’t the master.”
