High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1650: Chapter 394: 2 Spells

Su Shijun stood on the edge of the tallest tower of the outer fortress, gazing into the depths of the night.

As a Big Wizard, even if not skilled in Divination, it was easy to capture images related to oneself in the river of time. But due to the preemptive operations on the timeline, the entire Black Prison World’s secrets were in chaos, and causes were entangled, leaving Su Shijun shrouded in mist while divining, unable to discern any result.

Even if occasionally she glimpsed a clear image, the Witch dared not trust it easily—perhaps only Merlin knew if those images were the result of the Divination Confusion Spell used by the Great Wizard Demons in the opposing camp.

This was not the only thing troubling the Witch.

Ever since receiving the transfer order and leaving the lounge to arrive at this highest tower of the outer fortress, the wizards in the three-tiered eaves tower seemed to have forgotten about several Upper House Members of the Moon Council.

No orders were sent.

The five Upper House Members of the Moon Council, like the deans of the main fortress and the vice-principals of the inner fortress, from start to finish, played the role of silent spectators.

They watched outside the outer fortress, as nine Big Wizards engaged in a distance duel with the imprisoned Great Demons like Behemoth and Sujade, while hundreds of Hunting teams crisscrossed the hellish equations, occasionally destroying an Eye of Sauron.

They watched as Leviathan’s tentacles tore through the firmament, guiding in swarms of parasitic Demon creatures, squeezing its ugly, big-headfish-like head through, all the while having to endure its unpleasant screech.

They watched into the deeper night, at the endless blackness.

Even though Divination abilities were limited, the Big Wizard’s intuition kept reminding the Witch that something terrible was brewing in that darkness.

”Is there still no new orders?”

Su Shijun murmured as she turned around, her gaze skimming over the three-tiered eaves tower, unease in her eyes as she looked toward the deepest part of Black Prison Castle.

Across the main fortress’s walls, the golden magic shield above the inner fortress shimmered like an amber under the sun, with a captivating luster. The Witch knew that beneath that alluring glow lay the cause of today’s war outbreak.

”Stay calm, madam.”

Silent Souls, also a Big Wizard, rippled with starry sky colors, shrouding his Ghost form, the entire tower seemed to be influenced by him, becoming much quieter: ”...we are merely here for support, isn’t it a good thing that there are no orders? Ending this conscription peacefully would be the best.”

”Hard to say.” The oldest Upper House Member, Gongsun Bing, replied with a stern face, expressionless.

This drew the attention of the other four Upper House Members who turned to look, as Gongsun Bing was typically taciturn and not one to interject easily.

But after waiting a moment, Gongsun Bing said no more, as if his speaking earlier was everyone’s illusion.

”Too boring... Come on, Foggy.”

William Tapott withdrew his gaze from Gongsun Bing, muttering softly as he looked outside the city.

At this moment, he was sitting between the merlons, his long legs dangling over the wall, swaying in the wind: ”If we wait any longer, my once boiling blood will be boiled dry...”

Milton Karen then raised his head, glanced at the thick night, and sighed softly: ”If only Black Prison had a moon...”

Before his words fell.

Gongsun Bing, Silent Souls, and Su Shijun all turned their heads, looking towards a corner of the main fortress.

There was also a tower there, belonging to the Alpha Academy Guard.

At this moment, atop that tower, dim red light rose in layers, with a faint, ethereal singing resounding within the red light.

...

...

Eris lowered her head, glanced at her two slender hind legs, feeling somewhat frustrated.

The form of this jade-colored little spider was temporarily captured and refined by her, not meticulously polished, inevitably making it unsatisfactory to use, such as the spider’s eight legs being unable to extend or retract.

If she were lounging idly atop Skull and chatting with the other Great Demons as before, it would not matter much.

But at this moment, when she needed to climb to observe from a height, the stiffness of these two hind legs became somewhat annoying. Upon thinking of the words ’climb to observe,’ the jade-colored little spider hurriedly raised its head, fixing her gaze once more on the distant night below.

A tall figure holding a torch was slowly emerging from the darkness.

It was solemn, ceremonious, as if in pilgrimage.

At its head, an orange-red flame flickered, casting a shadow of orange light, with a leviathan’s thick tentacles stationed on either side, linking heaven and earth, forming like iconic sky pillars, constructing a majestic avenue.

There should be no wind in Black Prison.

But the night curtain seemed to recoil from that grain of orange flame, twitching slightly, drawing out threads of night wind that swept over from afar, and Eris vaguely heard the whispers carried within the wind:

”Lift your head, lift your head!”

”Open your eyes, lift your head!”

”Lift your head, lift your head!”

”Forget the hell behind and the road beneath!”

”Lift your head!”

”Crush your fangs!”

”Grind your claws!”

”Heart pounding, war drums echoing!”

”We will bathe in war, greet a new dawn!”

”Lift your head!”

”Last night’s starlight will not fall, today’s night will turn red!”

”Slash through the firmament, the night will turn red...”

With the whispers growing more urgent and dense, in the darkness, the tall figure gradually enlarged, one meter, two meters, five meters, ten meters, twenty meters, fifty meters; with each step, the figure grew larger, the torch it held lengthening, the fireball at the torch’s top enlarging, and the light it cast expanded its scope relentlessly.

Eris keenly sensed the prisoners shrouded by the light, and in their previously dim eyes, a spark slowly ignited. They lifted their heads, watching the fireball in midair with both fanaticism and fear, their pallid skin greedily drinking in the Magic Power delivered by the flame, their narrow nostrils fluttering rapidly, and their heavy breaths rising and falling, like bellows puffing strands of wild winds in Black Prison.

The wind sounds layered upon each other, billowing a thousand-fold madness!

Watching the increasingly large, rising, ascending fireball, though she was just a spider, Eris felt a parched, tongue-tied sensation.

She stirred a few slender spider legs, fanning a gust of wind to somewhat relieve the arid heat, while looking around to say something to the Great Demons beside her.

Before she could speak, Sujade and Ulrich suddenly turned, their gazes solemn and directed toward the direction of Black Prison Castle.

In the next moment, Eris also caught the anomaly transmitted through the air.

”Screech!!!”

A slender red line rose within Black Prison Castle, shooting straight skyward. Accompanying that clear screech, a fragmented Spell spread slowly as the focal point of the red line, expanding in all directions:

”The red sun rises, its path magnificent... Phoenix departs the parasol, its feathers soaring... Hawk tests its wings, dust and wind gather... As the blade surges, its brilliance emerges... Heaven wears its frost, earth treads its yellow... Spanning millennia, crossing Eight Desolates... Seas and mountains tinged with blue, the world’s road hazy... Heaven and earth alternate, to assure auspicious signs!”
