High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1696: Chapter 440: the Bo Fu Clan

After destroying the willow spears, the thin wind continued its trajectory, swirling the bluish smoke formed by the spears and condensing into a light rain, pattering down between several Great Demon ships and the Keiform Flight Land.

Each raindrop was like a sharp arrow, effortlessly cutting through countless spreading willow branches, and piercing numerous holes in the hulls of several Great Demon ships.

In the world, a spray of fragmented blood burst forth.

”Such a powerful attack, only to be swept away by a fan.”

The Mist Captain looked upward at the pattering raindrops, reached out his hand, and felt the sharpness embedded within them, sighing deeply: ”Even though I know KOTOS is still a step away from becoming a legend... yet this small distance feels truly disappointing.”

Unlike the contemplative Mist Captain, many captains under his command had more pressing matters to attend to.

”Raise the Defensive Magic Array!”

”Watch out for those raindrops!”

”Crew! Where are the repairmen?! Quickly repair the damaged cabins!”

”Don’t let those raindrops fall on the turrets!”

”Sails! Why haven’t the sails been retracted!”

Several figures rushed around, shouting orders, directing the gray-skinned Elves and Puppets to deal with the damage caused by the rain, the deck was a scene of chaos.

Professor Yao’s ghastly face lowered, glancing at the young Demons in disarray beneath him, slightly frowning, conjured a giant fireball with a motion of his hand, and threw it down.

”Bang!”

A thick tentacle shot from the side, smashing the fireball.

”Your opponent is us, better not bully kids.”

The tentacle slowly retracted, the floating giant eye in the mist looked toward the three-headed, eight-armed Giant Ape: ”Or perhaps, as Dean of Jiuyou Academy, you have fallen to the point where you need to seek presence among children?”

”This is a battlefield.”

The calm face in the center of the Giant Ape coldly glanced at Gustav, the observer: ”Since KOTOS can break the rules and take action against my students, then you should be prepared accordingly.”

As he spoke, the other two heads of the Giant Ape were already chanting spells in unison, two hands pinching spells, two hands holding the law book, two hands wielding clubs, and two hands supporting a thick shield.

Click, click.

The true form of the Compiler, the clock hovering in the air, the second hand swiftly rotated a large angle. Then, the Mist Captain and Gustav, who were about to be struck by Professor Yao’s spell in the previous second, appeared in completely opposite directions with a crisp ’click’ in the next.

Bang!

The fist formed of white mist heavily struck that thick shield, simultaneously, the giant eye incarnated by Gustav gazed at the Giant Ape, dark ripple-like circles blossomed in its eyes, at the center of the ripples was a gray line, flickering briefly, hitting the Law Book in the Giant Ape’s hand.

The law book instantly turned to ashes, and web-like cracks appeared on the thick shield.

The Giant Ape moaned, taking several steps back.

”You have three heads, we have three heads too.” The white mist condensed half of the Mist Captain’s body, leaning forward, looking at Dean Yao: ”...This doesn’t count as using numbers to bully.”

Above its head, the second hand on the clock face slowly adjusted back, dissipating the world’s laws’ punishment that came after stealing time; the giant eye then gently closed, dozens of thick tentacles undulated in the white mist like guards.

...

...

The fine raindrops fell from the sky like sharp arrows.

The four Deans revealed their true forms, fiercely battling with the Big Sea Demons and Great Wizard Demons descending from the Four Seas Demon Ship.

Further away, more and more hunting teams formed Second Rank mimicry giants, firmly blocking the approaching prisoner legion and demons outside the outer fort.

”How is it? Do you feel a bit more confident?”

The Divination Team Leader shook the feather fan in his hand, standing beside the young student supported by public funds, one hand on his shoulder, and another waving the fan, pointing in all directions: ”We have enough Wizards to help you fend off those Great Demons, you just need to follow Mr. Ruo Yu’s requirements, stand guard here, and clean up any scraps that accidentally slip through.”

Zheng Qing didn’t respond immediately.

Previously, when those willow spears thrown by KOTOS descended from the sky, at the moment Zhuge fanned with the feather fan in hand, Zheng Qing felt a warm aura suddenly appear, pouring straight into the sea of consciousness from his fontanelle.

The cyan air mass accumulated in his sea of consciousness due to the Forbidden Spell Aura leak, initially agitated by the battlefield aura, suddenly calmed down like a cat smoothed of its fur under the influence of the warm aura.

And the tube inserted into the cyan air mass for ’air extraction’ also suddenly became much thicker due to the aura, Zheng Qing could clearly sense the charms in the Charm Gun’s magazine were swiftly transforming under the contamination of the Forbidden Spell Aura.

This gave him a strong impulse to shoot at the demons.

”No problem!”

The Warlock, with confidence arising from nowhere, rashly patted his chest and promised: ”As long as I stand here, I will not let a single demon cross the city wall!”

On the merloned wall, the Black Cat bent its back and turned around, looking at the young man with puzzled ruby-like eyes, seemingly curious about whether the boy accidentally took some pill when it wasn’t looking.

Jiang Yu worriedly glanced at the young man, then lowered her head, starting to organize the talismans and magic artifacts she had collected for a long time in her handbag.

”Very good!” The Diviner happily patted the young man’s shoulder: ”Is there anything else you need, just mention it, and the Divination Group will strive to fulfill it.”

Zheng Qing glanced at the various mimicry giants in the distance, hesitated for a moment, and finally asked: ”I don’t need anything else... I’m just a bit curious, why are the hunting teams’ second-rank mimicry all based on the Bo Fu Clan’s giants?”

”On one hand, the school has a good relationship with the Bo Fu Clan’s giants, so they can obtain ample blood essence from them.”

The Divination Team Leader didn’t seem to find explaining doubts to students on a fierce battlefield troublesome, patiently detailed:

”You should know, although the hunting teams remaining in the Black Prison are composed of elites, not all elite hunter teams can deploy second-level ’mimicry’... those teams lacking some skills need to use the mimicry creature’s blood essence during the mimicry Magic Ritual.”

”Such teams are easily identifiable.”

”Like those giants whose stature is relatively short, or whose shape is somewhat faint, looking as if they have been dusted with powder, belong to this category.”

”Another reason is, having a unified mimicry target can reduce the Divination Group’s workload, allowing to gain a slight advantage over the enemy by calculating the battlefield situation... and also alleviating the pressure on logistical support.”

”After all, equipping ten giants with weapons is much simpler than equipping a group of bizarrely shaped creatures.”
