Chapter 1692: Chapter 436: Heavenly Dog Devours the Sky

”We’ve already broken into the Black Prison.”

”Does it matter anymore who decides or who can’t decide?”

The laugh of the Dark Council Chairman echoed grandly above the inner fortress, accompanied by the laugh, he lifted his intact hand and pressed down.

The sky suddenly darkened.

Zheng Qing looked up, seeing a massive six-fingered hand descending from the sky, the lines on the palm clearly visible. The hand occupied most of Zheng Qing’s view, almost covering the entire sky; beneath the hand lay the inner fortress of the Black Prison Castle, the six fingers falling like towering pillars, imprisoning the myriad changes of the Guardian Array.

Crack, crack!

The sky resounded with ominous sounds.

The gigantic hand pressed upon the inner fortress, the barrier supported by the Defensive Magic Array flickered violently under the immense external pressure, and from every parapet on the walls, the magic loop nodes emitted warning red lights one after another.

Spells rose from the inner fortress, supporting the quickly collapsing array, anxious orders and uneasy reports followed one after another, the initially tense and quiet atmosphere of the small city shattered suddenly, like a boiling pot whose lid had been lifted, the hot breath gushed out, scorching every soul that came close.

Several young wizards, with some trepidation, looked at the elder beside them.

Perhaps it was the title of Vice Principal of the First University that gave a feeling of great reliability; or perhaps it was because, despite the danger, no wizard had appeared in this small area to report bad news to the elder; or maybe it was just Elder Ruoyu’s calm expression, indifferent eyes.

The unease in Zheng Qing’s heart vanished without a trace the moment he saw the elder’s gaze.

”You are a student of the First University, right?” Elder Ruoyu turned his face slightly, looking quietly at the young sponsored student, his gaze paused for a few seconds on the robe: ”Jiuyou Academy.”

”Yes.” Zheng Qing replied.

”Do you know where this is?!” The elder slightly raised his voice, and his gaze also became a bit more severe.

”Black Prison.” Zheng Qing replied in a deep voice: ”Black Prison Castle, the prison where the Mage Alliance holds demons.”

The elder withdrew his gaze, looking outside the city: ”Now, outside this castle, there are prisoners of the Black Prison, demons intent on jailbreak, followers of Outer Gods, and frenzied dark giant beasts... and legendary rank black wizards. Are you afraid?”

Zheng Qing very much wanted to shout, ’I am not afraid!’

But he knew that sometimes, admitting weakness is not a sign of cowardice. If passion and impulse could make up for the gap in ranks, then fairy tales would not be pursued by people for their bizarre plots.

Thinking of this, the boy instinctively turned back, taking a look at his companions.

Zhu Si was staring upwards, dumbly watching the massive hand above, completely oblivious to the conversation between the boy and the elder wizard; Black Cat flicked its tail impatiently, looking out of the city, clearly showing no fear.

Only Jiang Yu slightly shook her head at the boy, her eyes filled with unease.

Zheng Qing grinned, showing her a bright smile, then turned back to Elder Ruoyu, solemnly answering, ”Afraid... but not afraid.”

”Tch,” nearby, came the disdainful mutter of Black Cat: ”With your ability, you could easily lose your life outside the city.”

Above the head, the cracking sounds from the defensive barrier in midair became more frequent, and the sound was getting clearer.

But the Vice Principal standing on the city wall did not even blink.

”I’m just a freshman, I can’t fight the legends, can’t fight the dark giant beasts, nor can I fight most demons or prisoners in this battlefield.” Zheng Qing ignored Black Cat’s jab, and simply explained to the elder his recent response:

”So I’m very scared... but as a wizard, in this battlefield, I have no right to be afraid.”

”Very good.”

The elder looked at the boy again, this time, his expression remained stern, but there was a subtle kind smile in his eyes: ”In my vocabulary, bravery has always been one of the highest-ranking words... On the battlefield, bravery is also the most important guarantee for survival.”

”Remember what you said just now, remember your current feeling.”

”Kid, stay well here.”

”Make sure to live on courageously!”

Bang!

The Guardian Array on the inner fortress walls was finally crushed by the towering giant hand, the scattering spiritual machines drifted like snow in June, shimmering with crystal clarity under the bright sunshine of the two suns.

In midair, the Dark Council Chairman’s booming voice came through: ”The doors and windows are all smashed open, yet you’re still talking so much nonsense... Ruoyu, how did you get dumber the longer you stayed at school in these years?”

Following closely were the thunderous sounds of the six fingers.

Outside the city, the shouts and roars of demons attacking poured in, as if the windows on the street had suddenly opened, and those once distant and nebulous hawking and trumpet sounds became much clearer, accompanied by the blood and smoke lingering outside the city.

The giant hand above, after crushing the defensive array, continued to descend.

Elder Ruoyu took a deep breath, lifted the cane he was holding, and stamped it heavily on the ground.

Boom!

Where the sound wave reached, the entire battlefield seemed to quiet down.

”Six Fingers!” The hood on the elder’s head flew up, beard and hair all swept upward, the originally restrained aura shot into the sky like a smoke signal, propping up the downward pressure, blasting through, and continuing upwards.

The two suns and several giant dogs fighting in the sky originally dodged that straight aura, fleeing towards the horizon, the world immediately dimmed a lot.

The fierce wind rampaged, magic power surged, Elder Ruoyu’s voice beat like war drums, striking at his opponent: ”...Your opponent is me!”

Accompanied by the angry shout.

In Zheng Qing’s awe-stricken gaze, Elder Ruoyu’s figure slowly swelled, in a moment, he transformed from a short and thin old man into a giant standing tall.

The towering city walls at his feet became toys, seemingly crushable with one stomp.

”Hahahaha! Come on!”

The Dark Council Chairman seemed not to hear Elder Ruoyu’s angry shout, his laughter particularly exuberant, he spread his arms wide, also unleashing his true form: ”Fight! Battle! Let us break everything that shackles this world!”

Two enormous auras tangled with each other, enveloping the whole world in silence.

The noisy battlefield resembles a rooster having its neck pinched, leaving only faint ’hee-hee’ sounds, everyone on the battlefield, including the two suns, believed that if the two Legendary Great Wizards were allowed to fight freely here, the destruction might not just be limited to this ancient castle beneath their feet, but also countless ’weak’ lives on the battlefield.

In the next second.

The silver wolf head on Elder Ruoyu’s cane abruptly rose and expanded, opening a massive mouth to meet the ever-enlarging Dark Council Chairman on the other side.

A low drinking sound echoed in everyone’s hearts:

”Heavenly Dog... devour the sky!”
