High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1679: Chapter 423: The Escaped Prisoner

”Report! Severe damage to the outer fortress middle section walls, unable to repair in the short term!”

”Hmm... there are nine Big Wizards outside, along with three Upper House Members from the Moon Council, enough to restrain Leviathan, Behemoth, and those old ones like Ulrich. It’s no issue temporarily if we can’t fix it... control the extent of the damage. What’s the situation with those two Suns in the sky?”

”Sun Master Ziz and the two Norse giant wolves Skur and Hati are showing strong aggression, Professor Emma and Sir Luofan are currently struggling to handle them!”

”Let them maintain it... daylight isn’t necessarily a bad thing for us.”

”Yes!”

”Monitoring team report! Underground magical fluctuations have surpassed peak values and are in a steady decline stage. Monitoring team hasn’t found any anomalies, this is reported accordingly!”

”Hmm, not surprising, the Big Wizards extracted too much spiritual energy from the world in their clashes... even the magic triggered by the Sun is no exception. Nothing terrible.”

”Yes!”

”Hmm, wait, since the monitoring team is here, help confirm if anything new has appeared outside the battlefield; have we sent out hunting teams to investigate that white rainbow and the Black Mountain Goat, any updates?”

”No, monitoring magic shows that hunting team is conducting long-distance tracking, no personnel losses occurred...”

On the side of the main fortress in Black Prison Castle, in the turret.

Within the Divination Group, wizards hurriedly came and went, constantly reporting new battle status and discoveries, as well as transmitting new orders from the Divination Group.

From restoring the fort’s magic circle to fixing damaged blue bricks on the walls; from what magic a Big Wizard just cast to a registered wizard falling and scraping their knee; from the trajectory of two Suns moving in the sky to one of the Eye of Sauron formulas outside the fortress being destroyed; various details of all kinds, diviners collected this information, deduced the development of the battle, advised the fortress defense and battlefield arrangement.

Then, under coordination of several Great Diviners, directives for troop deployments spread from this room, distributed throughout every hunting team inside Black Prison Castle, even down to every wizard.

Suddenly, several giant crystal balls placed around the turret hall burst into a deep green glow, but this flash disappeared instantly, followed by creaking noises unfolding with the armillary sphere at the center of the hall, celestial stars began to slowly shift under some mysterious influence.

”What is this...” A Great Diviner tugged at his goatee, a few traces of worry showed on his face.

”Indeed,” another Great Diviner sighed, ”legend has emerged on the opposite side... though this situation was already incorporated into our contingency plans, it’s definitely bad news.”

”Legend, huh,” the third Great Diviner murmured, turning his head, ”news should arrive soon, let’s wait a bit longer.”

”If you ask me, we should lift the isolation magic circle outside the Divination Group... so we can swiftly and efficiently grasp battlefield situations instead of legends descending so close to us and we remaining ignorant.”

”Don’t speak out of frustration. Divination requires a pure environment, battlefield cause and effect are too convoluted, not beneficial for us... besides, the isolation magic circle ensures more diviners’ safety...”

”Report...!!”

Urgent footsteps and loud shouting rang out beyond the isolation magic circle, interrupting the discussion within the hall. After brief inspection, a black-robed wizard was sent to meet the Great Diviners.

”Urgent report from the inner fortress!!”

”Sea Demon King Xiang Liu has appeared in front of the inner fortress city! Currently confronting Vice Principal Lord Shi Hui! The reversal five elements magic by Vice Principal was broken, and flames on Great Willow Tree and Multiple-Armed Giant KOTOS are rapidly extinguishing!!”

”Report!!” Another urgent report arrived.

”Prison management office urgent report! The clash between Great Sea Demon Iceberg and President Sun of Starry Sky Academy shattered several cells within the main fortress, thirteen demons escaped, three are in the transformation period, ready to advance to Great Demon anytime! Additionally, a witch sentenced to life imprisonment for violating the Wizard’s Codex is also missing!”

”Management office reminds, the escaped demon includes a ’Mi-go’, especially marked by Divination Group, the escaped witch was marked too!”

”Above!”

...

”Roar!!”

A giant White Bear Man stood up, its two claws pressed heavily downward, opposite it was an older martial artist who looked slightly aged but had bulging muscles all over.

”Boom!!”

Fists and palms collided, a violent tremor erupted around, the subtle sounds of shattering echoed in the air, resembling breaking glass.

’Stone Mountain’ floating mid-air trembled, its surface displaying multiple cracks; many willow branches near the Big Wizards’ combat range got shredded to pieces by powerful auras.

”Bang!”

A thick snake tail suddenly slid down from Stone Mountain, silently inserting itself between the Big Wizards’ combat range before anyone, including the Big White Bear, could react, and fiercely lashed out, striking President of Starry Sky Academy.

Poof!

Sun Qi spewed blood wildly, like a cannonball, he was slammed back into the cracked main fortress walls. Perhaps realizing himself directly hitting the broken wall would disturb the yet-to-fully-recover defensive magic array, the Starry Sky Academy President adjusted his breath mid-air and forcibly altered direction, landing on walls of a sturdy-looking cell.

”Damn you long worm!!”

Shi Hui watched Xiang Liu, simultaneously confronting her, daring to sneak attack their wizard—especially when her harsh words hadn’t even finished—immediately inflamed with rage, she snapped loudly, reached out to grab forward.

Her petite white hand seemed smaller than a single scale on the giant snake head, yet within that grasp, the whole world got enveloped in her palm, including the snake head, Mist Ship, and few other big demon ships.

”Hey hey, a bit unfair!”

Captain Iceberg tilted his head back, howled, he dared not directly complain about Lord Xiang Liu intervening in grappling but felt no problem throwing a dig at the First University’s Vice Principal.

”Slightly control the scope... don’t smash Black Prison.” Behind Shi Hui, Vice Principal Ruoyu quietly advised, the witch paused slightly, thinned the scope under her palm a bit more, encompassing only that giant snake head.

The snake-head hissed out its tongue, grinned coldly, letting the fair little hand grip its neck.

”If you dare to crush my head! The aftermath of legendary destruction won’t just make your little castle disappear but half the world! Anyway, a lousy life, not afraid to perish together with you!”

It seemed unafraid, uttering sharp words, brazenly provoking the witch: ”Oh, I forgot, you’re a female, no courage... Wahahaha...”

Lurking on the deck, several Great Demons shivered quietly, pieces of ’moss’ shrinking further smaller.
